"Just consider it one more adventure!" Bow chimed up, as he jogged around the school's track. Dressed in a set of gym clothes, a pair of sweat pants with a crop-top gym shirt and sneakers, with little wrist warmers and a headband, he very much looked like probably was in the wrong decade for the school, but for Etheria, he'd probably fit right in again. Turning around to run backwards, he glanced towards his companion.
The little alicorn huffed and puffed as he trotted after Bow on his stubby legs. "We've done this adventure nine times already, Bow!" Swiftwind complained as he struggled to keep up. Sunbreaker had allowed him to sit on the couch and watch television all day. Bow, on the other hand, had cut back the apple snacking and television and now had the poor Horsey exercising. "And when will I see Adora again?"
"I know, but ten is a good even number!" Bow countered, giving a measuring gaze towards the alicorn, but when Swiftwind asked about Adora, he blew out a breath. "Alright, let's take a break. We should talk anyway." Heading over to the bleachers where he had sat the gym bag, he took out a small bowl and filled it with bottled water for Swiftwind and set aside a bottle for himself. Next, he pulled out a couple of bars. "A snack fit for a noble steed!" Unwrapping the granola bar, he offered it to Swiftwind.
Swiftwind sniffed at it and took an experimental bite before scarfing it down.
While the alicorn ate, Bow took out a brush and started grooming the rainbow mane of the alicorn. "As you already know, Sunbreaker..."
Swiftwind interrupted quickly, "Accidentally!"
"...accidentally gave dark energy to Adora, and caused her to become more angry and she's not really dealing with it well. I saw her the other day. She's still... affected. I'm hoping that together, with some friends, we can finally break her free of the dark energy that's in her. But I need to ask you something..." Bow drew in a breath, and let it out slowly. "The Etheria that you and her are from. Is it a good Etheria? Is everything right? Is everyone leading their best lives? Is everyone... happy?"
Swiftwind blinked a few times at the question. He turned and tilted his head at Bow, and then stated, "It is a great place to be! Adora and Catra are very happy! Glimmer is a good queen! The world is vibrant, full of life. Everyone is doing their best!" Then he paused, and his eyes narrowed at Bow. "But... you should know that."
Bow smiled slightly, a wan look in his eyes. "I'm not the Bow you know. I'm the Bow of a different Etheria. From it's past, and my Etheria is doing poorly. We lost our Adora..."
Swiftwind balked, "Lost! But... that... what about me?!" he asks, suddenly invested in this story and what happened. "Surely, I could have helped!"
"I'm sorry, Swiftwind, but without Adora, you were back to being Horsey again, and couldn't communicate with anyone." Bow explained, but shook his head. "But that's the Etheria I came from. But I needed to know from you if what Adora said was true and not colored with the dark energy she's under right now. Because I want to help her. And you."
"You know she's going to want to help you too." Swiftwind retorted. The alicorn bumped his head against Bow's leg. "You're not our Bow, but you are Bow."
"I appreciate that, Swiftwind." Bow said, finishing brushing out the made and pulls the colorful hair from the bristles. "And like I said, we're going to get your Adora back and right. And then Catra, so she can start working on regaining her life and her happy ever after. I just wanted you to know, because there's going to be things that you know, that I don't."
Swiftwind rose up and peered at Bow for a moment. "She's going to help you. I know it. And then once everything is right, I am going to find a way to make sure Etheria gets it's own television shows! So, let's get this adventure started, my friend!" A pause, "Maybe I can convince Sea Hawk to write a theme for the show..."
Bow laughed outright and shakes his head in utter amusement as he ruffled the alicorn's face. "You, my friend, are addicted to television." he says with a fond little smile as he got to his feet to walk with Swiftwind so he could get cleaned up and changed. "But you're right. Let's go on one more adventure."
