Takuto Tsunashi's Sheet

Background

Takuto Tsunashi's the son of his greatest enemy! His story begins with his grandfather, who has very similar hair and was, once upon a time, the Ginga Bishounen. Granddad skipped over giving his son, Tokio, the Tau mark that controls the Tauburn cybody, which belongs to whoever in the Tsunashi clan is currently the Galactic Prettyboy, because Tokio is a selfish jackass who never had and never would have the right attitude or goals. So! Tokio went to Southern Cross Island to get himself somebody else's True Mark so he could pilot a cybody, and while he was there, he had an affair with his best friend's fiancee, winding up with her leaving the island, pregnant with Takuto. Since he wasn't at all interested in a son, and his mother wasn't either, Granddad raised Takuto -- and he found in his grandson the bundle of righteous anger over injustice that would make a decent Galactic Prettyboy if only he could be convinced to get punchy instead of being mopey.

Takuto was a closed-off and quiet kid who was raised believing he should fight for the powerless, but didn't know how. He had two best friends, one of whom was cheerful and reckless and did whatever he wanted, and the other who loved them both. The reckless friend turned out to be reckless because he had a terminal illness! But while he was alive he reveled in his youth, so in order to honor him, Takuto decided to also be reckless! He flew his friend's bicycle glider invention up and away over the forest, and it broke apart and he fell -- and he almost died, but laughed like a great weight was finally off his chest. (Instead, there was a Tau-shaped brand new scar on his chest when he started healing up.) His grandfather saw the change in Takuto's outlook and personality, and bestowed the Tau Mark on his grandson so that the boy could go to the island, save the world, make lots of friends, and punch his dad really hard.

The very first thing Takuto did on the island was almost die; he'd swum from the mainland and washed up on shore, and one of the first two friends he made (Wako) did CPR on him until she and the other first friend he made (Sugata) got him breathing and could drag him to Sugata's house to recover. That first day, he also found out Wako and Sugata were betrothed and (sort of) attended freshman orientation, was warned to stay away from the old gold mine and immediately (well, that night) started breaking into it, witnessed Wako getting kidnapped, got kidnapped himself, had his first henshin, and became the first in his generation to pilot a Cybody with a natural Mark. Busy day. Over the course of the next few months, he kept making friends -- including the people he was fighting by night, the Glittering Crux Brigade -- and fighting and destroying other Cybodies (piloted by the Brigade members he was befriending).

It turned out that his good-for-nothing father who wanted nothing to do with him was the person who'd started the Glittering Crux Brigade, and had used them all to get his hands on the biggest and baddest King Cybody Samekh (which belonged to Takuto's bestie Sugata), so a) he sure got to punch him really hard, b) he needed the help of the friends he'd made for the big battle to kick his dad out, and c) the Glittering Crux Brigade members got their original natural Marks back and could pilot their cybodies without the help of Glittering Crux's magitech interfaces.

At any rate, it was only Wako's decision to let Takuto bust her cybody Wawna and therefore the last seal holding Samekh in Zero Time that let them save Sugata, because that dumb self-sacrificing jerk was going to seal Samekh away again but with himself inside it because pfft he could only pilot it, not destroy it. So Wako, who was in love with both boys, enabled Takuto, who was in love with Wako and Sugata, to go save Sugata's silly blue-oni self up in orbit.

Now the cybodies are all locked up again but with a different set of seals and power-breaks, so the Maidens can leave the island, and they and all the other Star Drivers -- even those in Glittering Crux, now disbanded -- can all be big damn heroes against a) more cybodies that might come to earth, b) actually anything else that might threaten the earth, and c) even anything else that might just be kicking around the powerless for giggles or food. Takuto himself came with Wako to Tokyo, and now they're waiting for Sugata to tie up his business on the island so he can join them and they can all continue to sing out their youth.

Personality

Takuto's extremely cheerful and friendly, never letting anything get him down. He used to be a reserved and broodingly unhappy kid, upset over his parents' abandonment of him and constantly chewing on it, even as his grandfather raised him to stand up and fight for the powerless. After the death of one of his two best friends, he deliberately chose to be a different kind of person, one who revels in his youth and helps others to do the same -- just like his friend had been.

He is always watching everyone around him, taking note of interactions between people, and cataloguing actions and reactions to him, to information, to teachers, to other kids. He learns exceptionally quickly, only having to see or experience an attack or lesson once before being able to counter it or effectively use it, and he makes connections just as fast. He also pushes buttons that say 'do not push' and deliberately tries doing things he's told not to do, especially if they seem interesting or likely to produce interesting results.

Takuto may be genki af, but he also believes wholeheartedly and almost angrily in the inherent goodness of people and their ability to stand up and do the right thing if they're only given enough courage and motivation. He also spent most of his life angry at his dad and at least a year gearing up to very satisfyingly punch him in the face. Once he focuses on something, he'll follow it to the ends of the earth-- sometimes to the point of singlemindedness, ending up blindsided by something he otherwise would have noticed and included in his social calculations of a situation.

He's extremely honest with his feelings, never hiding how he feels either with his face or his words, especially once he's certain he has something dead to rights. He's not at all honest about his abilities or the scope of his attention, never showing his cards until he absolutely has to, whether that's in fighting or in his reading of events.

The one thing Takuto is really shy about is physical affection and impropriety, grimacing and blushing and looking extremely uncomfortable and trying to escape applications of kiss.exe, variations on naked.pst, and aggressive runs of snuggle.bat from basically everyone except his best friends Wako Agemaki and Sugata Shindo.

Focus

Takuto henshins with the phrase APPRIVOISER (to tame) and the Tau Mark on his chest, which is always there but gets really bright when he's transforming. If he needs to use his secondary (more power-intensive) henshin it's APPRIVOISE (which is 'I tame you!' and basically yelling at Tauburn to get Tauburn-shaped armor).

Style

The Star Drivers get shiny military-esque uniforms when they initially henshin, and full-on henshin sequences with lights and glitter. The secondary henshin is phantom robot armor in the shape of their cybodies.

Powers

The majority of Takuto's fighting tricks and styles are directly informed by his from-childhood training in melee combat via his grandfather, and his kendo training in school. He does, however, actually have powers in henshin.

First Phase (unhenshined power): Befriending-- or, he can see things no one else does, including in people who otherwise don't get a fair shake.

Henshin powers, including a base of faster, stronger, tougher, and flight:

Star Swords Emeraude and Saphir: He fights with a two-handed style using two glowing energy swords which he pulls out of the tau mark on his chest at the beginning of fighting-with-swords-time. This is great because they're always handy and he never has to sharpen or clean them, but it's a little awkward because they are made of the combined energy of himself and Tauburn, his distant Cybody and he has to name them every time to give them shape.

Galactic Cross Slash: This is one of two finishers he has; it's the one using his swords and it takes effort and concentration and magic to get swords made of his own energy to slice through what's in front of him in a perfect x-shape. He is not likely to use it on people.

Tau Galaxy Beam: Where he hauls back his hands and gathers his energy and will into the mark on his chest, then looses it with a shove into a target-seeking blast of sparkling blue destructive energy.

Tau Missile: Literally just a flying tackle with a sparkling blue contrail of light.

Tauburn Armor: The 'Apprivoise!' instead of 'Apprivoiser!' henshin -- it's a super form that involves phantom cybody-shaped armor, using energy pulled directly from the link between Driver and Cybody, which adds increased speed, strength, and AC to Takuto. It burns through energy much faster than the regular henshin, and is for boss battles only.

Tauburn Armor Pile Crusher: This move can only be used in this form: it takes the 'coat tails' of Tauburn's body -- the piles -- and circles them around one of armored Takuto's fists, creating a mixed energy-and-armor weapon that can be used to blast a glittering cannonball of HOW DARE at a target.
