A Heist To Forget
Date of Scene: 19 May 2025
Location: Magic in the Making Exhibit
Synopsis: Riventon arrives at the museum to steal a newly added exhibit - the Jar of Memory. Though he gets away, and slight-of-hands the jar, important information may yet be recovered from the situation...
Cast of Characters: Takashi Agera, Hotaru Tomoe, Amanda Faust, Sayaka Miki, Takuto Tsunashi

Takashi Agera has posed:
It's the evening after the Magic in the Making Exhibit has gotten some new peices; and one in particular is the Jar of Memories. The place is closed, now, with only a few security guards around.

But the Jar of Memories is more than just a wishful decoration. It has magic; slight magic, but real, and it's that magic which has drawn Riventon to it. Not just in his usual kleptomagic way, but because the sort of magic that it exudes makes it somewhat of a problem to have around.

So the only option is a heist; but it's not a heist in the usual way - he's not breaking in from the roof with technological gadgets. Instead it's the direct approach. Riventon knocks on the door.

A security guard opens it, suspicious, and he well should be, because Riveton's arm reaches out and grabs him by the neck before draining him of energy. "Really, you should take the night off." Riventon notes, stepping over the guard's fallen body that sits in the doorway. Mundane security measures were easily disrupted by his Device, and he moved through the quiet museum halls this way, draining the few night security guards to unconsciousness.

Of course there was always a chance, even if he was quiet, that someone might have picked up on the Dark Energy being used... or that someone might have seen the Jar as well and come over night to check on it... or that someone might have noticed the unconscious security guard he left on the ground, his sleeping body propping open the front door.

Hotaru Tomoe has posed:
Then there was also the chance, no matter how small, that someone had been reading a comic book about a great heroine and had, once again, gotten into her senpai's cape collection and was, once again, on the rooftops practicing from the rooftops in said cape and had, after the wind shifted, ended up getting tangled, yet again. BUT! Managed to not fall off.

... But what were the chances of THAT happening? HA! Not likely. At all. Cough. Cough cough. Ridiculous.

However, as unlikely and preposterous as such a thing was, Sailor Saturn was heading towards home and trying to get home before curfew to avoid getting a lecture... when she skidded to a stop glancing up. Dark... energy? She felt it. Not her problem. If it was, they'd call her after it was--

OH WAIT! IT WAS HER PROBLEM NOW! SHE GOT TO DEAL WITH THINGS! She waved her hand and the glaive appeared in hand and she leaped down towards the ground, catching the ground with the flat end and spinning down it to dampen her momentum, before racing towards it and....

Stopped when she found the guard outside the front door, kneeling down by him, a frown on her lips, a hand moving out to check his pulse. Unconscious. But alive. Time of unconsciousness? She... did not know. She was not a forensics girl. Probably recently? Either way... probably... recently? She hoped? She looked inside... was whoever was doing crimes... still... here?

Should she call for backup?

Amanda Faust has posed:
Amy is feeling bluh and she's not sure why. Maybe it's because more of her friends have turned evil or been possessed by evil than ever before? Maybe it's because she got fed on by a nightmare? Maybe it's because every time her brain decides to remind her of embarassing things she did, remembering stuff from the day she was trapped by Bliss-chan is enough fuel for two lifetimes! Bluh. Don't feel like playing a game. Certainly don't feel like doing schoolwork. Maybe she should go out on patrol?

Her wandering thoughts have brought her to the museum. She saw another shape on the rooftops, headed down to... Is that guard unconscious or dead?

So just as Saturn is thinking about calling for backup, the Puella Magi runs over. "Is he breathing? ...That's probably not supposed to be unlocked..." She opens the door to peek inside.

Sayaka Miki has posed:
You know what's worse than being awake in the middle of the night? Having had a fight with Namakelder in the middle of the night, because he thought it a good idea to corrupt the future of a person walking back home late from a party with their friends, and then tauntingly sleep as per his usual while she fought the Terribad.

It has been at least a hour since then, and the Pretty Cure of Justice has had some chance to recover some of her strength. Except this is a night when evil doesn't sleep, sans Namakelder's usual skills.

"What that... yawn... dark energy?", Ula points out towards the direction of the museum, shaking her head for the umpteempth time, but no more awake than she has been any of the other times.

"I believe so", Cure Sharpsong blinks towards the same direction, having already mostly shaken off the tiredness through the fight, groaning a little bit at the news. Looks like it's time for an umwelcome round two. Seriously, what's up with Obsidian, today?

The bluenette jumps to a stop when she sees Sailor Saturn over the unconscious guard. Oh, looks like there is another magical girl on the case. "Hey there. I think you are new, right?", Sayaka smiles tiredly. "I am Cure Sharpsong, and this sleeping koi is Ula", she introduces them both, while the tiny mermaid is somehow still hanging onto her shoulder.

Reaching over to the guard, the Pretty Cure hums as she checks his health. "Seems standard drain, he should be fine in a bit. Wanna go in to stop whoever did this?", she looks inside the dark hallways.

"Hey, Red", she greets the Puella yawning. "I think we should still be in time to get our culprit. Ula and I felt the dark energy like a minute ago."

Takuto Tsunashi has posed:
"Is who breathing?" asks a tall voice behind the three short girls after a glowing thump.

The Ginga Bishounen, in his bright white and gold coat, with his bright red and yellow hair, and his extremely complicated thigh high boots and epaulets, leans over their shoulders and let's be real also directly over Amy's head and looks. "Oh, damn. Hey, I don't know how to be sneaky, so do you want me on the roof in case of getaway?"
He's totally ingenuous. Look at that face. Look at the stars on his knees. Look at that bright cocky smile.

Takashi Agera has posed:
Within the museum, after the assembled group moves forward, it's not too long before they can sense something awry at the Magic In the Making area.

A short walk there will find them looking down at a figure in a labcoat with glasses, his arms crossed and his foot tapping. "Come on, Ax. It's mundane security. You should be able to crack it with no trouble." He says, clearly unaware of anyone here.

<The system was designed to go off on being tampered with or losing connection.> The device on Riventon's gauntleted hand half protests. <Arbeit abgeschlossen... Unerwunschtes Unternehmen erkannt.> (Work Complete.... Unwanted company detected.)

"Of course, of course, keep an eye on the signatures but I'm not here to fight... let's just grab the jar and get out then." he says, reaching out with both hands to take the rather large jar in both hands.

<Mehrere Prasenzen in unmittelbarer Nahe.> (Multiple presences in close proximity) Axion reports.

Hotaru Tomoe has posed:
Sailor Saturn gave a small nod. "He's alive. He has a pulse. No bleeding and nothing needing to heal." She then hefted him under one arm, the silence glaive under the other, and awkwardly sat him up against the wall so like... nobody would trip on him.

"And I do not think it is supposed to be. So either... thieves... or darrrrrrkness thieves. Probably darkness thieves. Also, hiiiii everybody," she whispered, waving her hands, before gripping the glaive firmly in both hands.

"I am the guardian of ruin and rebirth, Sailor Saturn," she said firmly.

OKAY SERIOUSLY, THAT TIME WENT MUCH BETTER! DESTRUCTION! AND! REBIRTH! SERIOUSLY! WHY COULDN'T SHE DO THAT LAST TIME?! GAHHH! STUPID NERVES!

"You can hide out here if you want, but if they get whatever they're gonna grab and they have dark energy, they'll probably grab it and like dusk port away. Dusk porting isn't precise on entry, but it doesn't need to be to escape," she said.

"And since like, they didn't set off the alarms, if we're quick about it, we can probably stop them from doing what they're trying to do, since they don't seem to want to get snagged and draw attention to themselves, since they're not going for a smash and grab, instead going all stealthy like."

She then pushed the door opened a bit more and headed inside, holding the glaive closer and trying to not snag it on anything as she walked... or click her heels too loudly as she walked.

Takuto Tsunashi has posed:
There's a nod at how to handle this, and Takuto does his best, he seriously does his best, to not even make a sound walking. You can tell because there's a khooooo-sounding blue-white glow under his feet that makes him hover. It's pretty bright, but it's quiet. Quiet like a blowtorch.

Then they come to the room, and "Hey, it's TFG," the Ginga Bishounen says delightedly. "Let's take him outside, there's expensive nice old stuff in here. Hey RIVENTON! Bet you don't have Dusk Velociraptors todaaaaay--"

The sound of 'todaaaaay' is because he starts running at Dusk, kicks up a good speed by the middle of Velociraptors, and then dives to the floor-- and now he's sliding, jet powered sliding, directly for Riventon's feet with his hands outstretched and ready to grab ankles. NYOOOM--

Amanda Faust has posed:
At the familiar voice of Sayaka AMy actually brightens up, there's some friends she hasn't talked to in awhile! "Sharpsong! Ul--" and then lowers to a whisper, "Ohh, she's sleeping. Aww. ...Can we get a picture of that?" She will ablsolutely take 5 seconds to get a picture if okayed.

"And she fell asleep in just a minute...? Guess she was really tired."

And then she jumps, startled, at yet another voice... oh hey it's "Hi, Ginga Bishounen! Long time no see." She keeps her voice at like a stage whisper, because the tiny mermaid is sleeping. "Good to see you all again! Ummm... You might also need to come join the fight in a hurry, though. Maybe just stay a couple rooms behind us? Like, we can shout or use telepathy--" << Can we use telepathy? Kyubey, why are you here? *Sigh* >> "--to tell you if you need to cut them off rather than join us."

Saturn mentions that a villain is more likely to duskport than run. "Ohhhhh. Right." She briefly wonders what duskporting is like, but... "Man I'm glad I didn't try to do that in the future." Was there a dusk zone in the future? Would she just end up back on Nemesis?! That thought sends a chill through her spine. She really doesn't want to go back there... Hopefully the one upside of Usagi and Chibiusa coming back evil is they won't have to return to Nemesis to rescue them.

She does take note of the (quiet) clicking of Saturn's heels. "Is it hard to walk and fight in--" She starts to whisper, but then they come to the exhibit and theeeeere's Riventon!

And Ginga Bishonen already went loud. "Wow. Haven't seen you in awhile. ...Whatever you're stealing, you can't have it!" She levels her weapon at Riventon and then the 'oh, right, MUSEUM' flashes across her face and she dismisses it.

    "...Dusk Velocairaptors?"

Sayaka Miki has posed:
Cure Sharpsong raises a hand in greeting when the magical boy of absolute prettiness arrives, mulling over his question. That's a fair one, they don't know if there are other guards. "I think anybody who broke in may have gotten rid of them", she handwaves it.

"Let's go in through the front door, and then we can catch up to the thief, so remarks, taking out the Ninja card, and turning into the special form, standing there in the right up. "I can look ahead for guards", Cure Sharpsong offers with a quiet voice.

She is about to slip in the shadows waiting for her when Amy asks to snap a pic of Ula. "I don't think she ever really got awake", she considers in a whisper, nodding at her request.

Once she is close enough to see the scientist, she groans and goes back to base Sharpsong. "That vase isn't going anywhere, Riventon. Put it back, and we can skip the fight.

Takashi Agera has posed:
Riventon rolls his eyes. "It has been a while, yes. Sadly here we all are, because it would've been truly nice to never see you again..." he says. Then he turns to Sharpsong who... oh, that's REALLY not who he wanted to see today as Riventon. Complication Level +5. "The vase is coming with me, don't go getting yourself hurt trying to manage things you have no control ov-" But then he's cut off from further verbal nonsense by the physical nonsense/NYOOOM that is the Ginga Bishonen.

And well, Riventon is sturdy, but he's also trying to not drop the Jar and on the list of things he was expecting to be dealing with, a rocket powered ankle-tackle wasn't on the list. Perhaps luckily and unluckily for several subsets of people and things, directly flanking Riventon from the Ginga Bishonen's direction is a large, relatively low to the ground window.

And Riventon is, on a good day, a spindly science nerd who uses Dark Energy to make up for that. But it doesn't make him any physically heavier, so when Takuto rocket-tackles him, it's towards the window he goes - quick thinking to put his arms around the vase and cover it as his back goes through the window, and clearly all of the guards are out and the security is offline because the sound of a giant window shattering DOESN'T call any mundane backup. Riventon is free of the Ginga Bishonen after that and rolls a little bit, still covering the Jar of Memory in his own bodyu and getting upright with the help of his ability to shun gravity for telling him what to do.

A few bits of glass fall from the top of the window to the floor as he settles. "Well, that was a hell of a way to make an exit. Now it's gonna be real awkward for whoever has to clean that up. Property damage wasn't supposed to be on the menu today." he adds. "But I'm taking this with me, yeah. It's too valuable to sit in some museum for mundanes with no idea what it is to gawk at it till one of you bright colored peacock-folk gets the idea of trying to use it yourselves."

"Last thing I want is to be dealing with any of you for longer than I gotta..." he says. But he isn't duskporting with it. Maybe he can't. Maybe he just wants to monologue.

Takuto Tsunashi has posed:
Takuto honestly looks kind of shocked that it worked, and double-shocked that the alarms aren't going off. "Oops!" he calls with a grin, and jumps out the window. Over his shoulder at Amy he says, "Yeah! Ask later tho."

Then the Ginga Bishounen returns his attention to Riventon and smiles, his head cocking to one side. "I would've brought my girlfriend to stick you in a bubble, but instead, I encroached upon the reasonable confrontation these clever and capable mahoujin had in mind with like, a zerg rush," he says, stepping forward again, with grabby-hands motions. "What do you need with some old jar anyway? Is it haunted? What do you mean longer than you have to?"

Hotaru Tomoe has posed:
Sailor Saturn blinked a few times when she saw the threat. Oh my gosh. It was RIVENTON! WHY WAS RIVENTON HERE?! UH OH! Oh no. She had to pretend to cause him problems! Well... ehh. Okay, she had to cause him problems. But not TOO many problems. I mean, she still trusted him. But he still trusted her, surely. After all, they knew each other's identities, right? So he wouldn't go all out, and she wouldn't go all out on her, it'd be fine.

"Ohhhhh, come on. I was honestly hoping for the dusk raptors. Are you at least going to do the villain speech? I haven't heard a good monologue in ages," Sailor Saturn called out. "All I've heard lately is the Black Moon Clan and they're like, all edgy and no real charm. They had a dragon, though, that was nice."

She took a step back, braced herself, prepped and then.... LEAPED! Polevaulting with the glaive and... Tried to grab onto his back! She didn't try to stab him in her drive-by, at least. So there was some politeness there. "GIVE IT BACK!" Yup. She was gonna blaster-master style fight him. And bonk him with the glat of her stick. Or try to.

Amanda Faust has posed:
("You get to turn into a ninja?!" Amy hisses in awe, when Sharpsong demonstrates that power. She probably would have shifted to some sort of ninja costume herself, but I'm not working out what reference she'd make I have to pose a response to this round. She did grin happily at the adorable picture of Ula on her phone though!)

Never see them again?! "Wow, rude-- wait, no, that's fair, same to you acually."

When he's SHOVED OUT A WINDOW (accidentally) by Ginga Bishounen she gives chase, leaping out the window-- and oh Riventon's flying and Amy just falls right past him to the ground. Like, she lands on her feet, but it's slightly embarassing to give chase in this situation and then overshoot because you can't fly. Like, she can, but it costs magic. At least for whatever reason, he's not duskporting.

It's too valuable? "Well, what is it, then? What is your genius plan?" And she winces, briefly, as she remembers how she was on the spaceship ride back to Earth. Dark Energy did very much want to show off, yes, but she retained enough faculties to not directly tell people stuff like how attached she was getting to it or her half-formed plans to somehow keep it.

At least her friends are at the window. "I'd like to think I'm more of a zealot rush, thank you very much!" She mutters, "Maybe more of a carrier... dragoon? Avatar? Maybe I am Terran, this power's a lot of micro..."

Sayaka Miki has posed:
Sayaka sighs a bit when Riventon is thrown out the window, and with a thought, resorting to the bow on her back, which shines and expands into wings, and she throws herself out of the window, wobbling a bit in the air as she flies closer to the scientist, stopping to hover above him by about two meters.

Sharpsong doesn't question why Riventon isn't duskportint away too much. Maybe he too is sleepy, and he is about to go the way of Namakelder any second now. Wouldn't that be nice?

"There was a dragon?" Sayaka stares at Saturn, incredulous. Guess she really shouldn't be so surprised, but in a sea of youma, a dragon would have definitely stood out around here. She would like to know more, but not right her.

She doesn't have much to say to Riventon at this refusal. "Pretty Cure Sharpsong Legato!", she shouts, and the usual tendrils strike for Riventon, but in her sleepiness, she aims at it way off.

Well, ok.

"How about we go with that as your last warning. Obsidian doesn't need it either", she keeps her eyes focused on Riventon.

Takashi Agera has posed:
Riventon sneers. "Your girl couldn't put me in a bubble for longer than a few moments. You have no idea what I've done since we last met, sparkle-boy." he says, clenching and unclenching his left hand reflexively. "How old are you, sixteen? I wonder if you can feel it yet - the forgetting. But even if you can't - the Fade is coming for you and soon I won't have to deal with you, because you'll just be another goofy mundane young adult, on your way to some safe, boring job as a salaryman. Assuming you can even pull that off." he says.

There's a moment where he looks over to Sharpsong and considers it for her; but as long as... well, as long as she doesn't only know him as Frost Knight. Besides, she's younger than Takuto, there's years to sort that out.

"It's not my plan, I'm just helping it along." he replies to Amy. He might be about to reply to all of the Starcraft Meta comments; or maybe he's going to reply to the missed Legato attack, which his eyes follow, or perhaps not - but we'll never know - because Saturn leaps on his back.

But now he's a little more ready for a fight, and Axion isn't busy trying to focus on disabling high-end security systems; his Device saw it coming, albeit a bit too late, and Riventon's able to shift his grip to one hand so she can reach behind him to the literal monkey on his back. He doesn't grab for her glaive - he grabs for her arm, flickers with Dark Energy, and then tries to throw the young girl as hard as he can back towards the Museum. Henshin armor should keep her from getting -too- banged up at least, he figures.

"Really, I'm doing you all a favor. Every time you come into a fight with me you're lucky to walk away!" He yells. "How many of you did it take to press Gaito back, huh? Five, six? And you didn't even fell him - in the end, I was the one who removed that peice from the board - I dealt with him myself." he says, his left gauntleted hand shimmering with golden metal on the knuckles. "Now I am the inheritor of the Dark Energy contained in both the Sea and Sun." he adds. And then for Sharpsong he thrusts his hand forward anmd unleashes a torrent of Dark Energy bubbles - they rush at her, and each of them threatens to pop with a little burst of energy on contact, a storm of them. But that's the gentle attack, as he swaps which arm is holding the jar and attacks again - The Cute Rocketeer and the Ginga Bishonen get his right hand, the gleaming gem on his palm glowing before he unleashes a sickly colored purple red fire, and notably, none of these attacks require any callouts from his Device; none of them are Michildan or Belkan now.

Hotaru Tomoe has posed:
Sailor Saturn blinked a bit when she had her arm grabbed. "Hey Riventon," she said.

Only to then be YEETED. She yelped, hitting the wall and then... slamming into it. And then kind of... through... it...

Well. She did have a henshin. So that was nice. On the other side, there was an almost comically shaped fuku-and-glaive-shaped hole THROUGH the wall of the museum now, and Sailor Saturn eventually hit the ground, skidding along it would a long, slow, squeaking sound. Oooookay.

*Ow*.

She gently got to her feet and made her way back outside, wiggling the glaive and... making it disappear. Well, she wasn't going to stab him and she was NOT going to 'surprise' him because she was NOT going to disolve him, despite what the 'Saturn' inside her head said should be an option. So instead she ran back outside, brought both her hands together, leaped, and brought both hands together and tried to bring them both together on the back of his head. "SATURN JACKHAMMER!" she yelled.

This was NOT a special attack, but it WAS special and it WAS an attack!

Amanda Faust has posed:
"The dragon was NOT nice!" Amy protests as she hears Saturn.

Riventon's words, though. The chill her too. The Fade. Forgetting. Just another boring mundane adult with a safe, boring job. She doesn't think an office would take her. Only Radiant Heart...

She hopes it doesn't affect her. Maybe being a soul gem means she escapes. She hasn't completed her contract until she Witches. But what about her friends? Mamoru and Usagi need to have their moon wedding soon... will he forget while she's still evil?

Amy shakes her head. "What's not your plan? Helping what along?" She aims at him, but he's carrying a breakable-looking vase, damn it. And then she looks shocked. "What?! What'd you do to him?!" She leaps out of the way of the fire, but hasn't figure out how to attack without damaging the vase...

"He was a threat to nobody at this point... Honestly I thought he was gonna, uh... off himself..." She glares, anger in her voice, "but if he didn't, then it was no one's place to do that!"

Takuto Tsunashi has posed:
"I just turned eighteen, and my evil dad can hang around high-schoolers because he looks like one, what makes you think I'm getting any older?" yells Takuto. "You'll still be dealing with me when you're old and probably a youma!"

There are a LOT of assumptions in there, kiddo.

He listens, though. He listens while Riventon continues, when he pauses over Sharpsong, when he answers Amy-- and then the unloading of information stops when Riventon gets (why is a senshi baby koalaing Riventon?!?!?!) attacked again and goes off on a rant.

"Heck with that! I just really love fighting you!" the Ginga Bishounen sighs... and then goes 'tch' as gross-looking fire blasts his way, feet getting singed as the tch costs him a fraction of a second in his getaway nyoom.

He flies up and circles around to come at Riventon fists-first again, this time from above.

This time he doesn't announce himself.

Sayaka Miki has posed:
Sayaka wasn't around when Gaito fell. She was completely busy with a somewhat more nasty Witch first, and then with getting people away from the incoming damage the unnatural storm would have been causing. Again. Was probably a good thing for Tokyo that they didn't have to do that again for Beryl since she had decided to transfer herself to Paris instead.

"What does that matter? You are assuming a lot of things about us, or about the Fade", Sayaka stares at Riventon fiercely, ready to make her disagreement clear by word and by sword. Think fast, Sayaka! You need something that can get the vase back.

"I say instead we may just be good enough to beat the odds there too. How many has that happened now?", she grins daringly. She is just throwing back quips, but the Fade can sue her if it cares."Wanna see how this song and dance continues?"

But she is pressed on by a bubblebeams, and she frantically performs aerial dodges when some graze at her just enough to avoid any actual serious damage, up until she has enough space to breathe and throw a Sharpsong Quarter Tone in between her and it, the rapidly rising and freezing pillar of water that shatters with a crystalline note into three swords falling and piercing the ground roughly around Riventon.

Takashi Agera has posed:
"Hah, you're not from around here, you better go scurry off to your island. Maybe there, the Fade will miss you and you can continue to do stupid things the rest of your life, but you stay in the rest of this big wide world, and your sparkle brain will turn to mush because only Dark Energy can carry on forever." Oh, maybe Riventon had talked to someone who knew something about some robots, in his downtime. Maybe he just has more access now, or stole a look in places he shouldn't.

Takuto comes in to attack and Riventon casually waves his hand and creates a Midchildan barrier, a circular shield of runes that are solid magic, and that's what Takuto's fists impact. But even still the pressure of the attack puts Riventon's body back and causes the wind to whip around a bit. "Strong. Not strong enough, but I'll give you credit. Like that Enforcer. Two years ago you might have kind of stressed me out." he adds. "But you're still acting like you're facing, I don't know, Oresky or Thetis... You don't understand. The only reason I'm not using more power is because I don't want to draw more people I would have to hurt." And he doesn't want to hurt a certain person who's here today.

Even as his barrier pushes back on Takuto's fists, Riventon turns to look at Amy. "Gaito? He's gone." Riventon says. It's blunt. And direct. And it puts out an idea, that Gaito is dead, that is untrue. But Gaito needs to be seen as dead in order for Riventon to keep up his end of the bargain AND get the benefits of being known as the one who dealt with him. "He pulled the trigger without authorization from the Board. He renounced Obsidian. So I tracked him down, and now his staff is part of my device, and he's resting with his little personal circus at the bottom of the ocean."

"When Rubeus attacked one of Gaito's own, I stood up for our people and made that fashion atrocity pay. And when Gaito turned his back on us, I did the same thing. Now I'm the heir of Panthallassa's power - Gaito was really just too weak to carry that honor. But me? I'm the Firstborn Prince of the Dusk Zone. You might even be able to say I can do this with one hand tied behind my back - or managing an awkward jar for a bit."

"Soon Axion will finish analyzing and understanding the magical spectrums of the Jar of Memories and I'll be able to seal it within my Device. Until then I suppose I'll have to play with you all. There's no possible way you can defeat me before it's finished. It's inevitable, like the Fade. Fight against it, but it only comes closer. You have less chance of defeating me than you believe, just like the Fade will soon tick forward and rid me of several of you who think you have time left to fight..."

Riventon's shield pulses with energy and shoves Takuto back, so he can turn and also parry Saturn's 'jackhammer' with the shield, and then interpose it between the Sharpsong Quarter Tone's attacks. By the power of all three attacks the shield does shatter and break on the last, but it does so without the attacks getting through to Riventon - it cost energy, not injury.

"Draw your sword, Ginga Bishonen - wield your rockets, Puella. I hope you have a good stock of Grief Seeds. Call for the aid of your Moon Princess, your Earth Kami, Senshi and Cure. I don't want to hear you say that you were holding back." Riventon throws his left hand out, and a shockwave of pure Dark Energy goes for each of them (though Sharpsong's is last and that's totally the excuse why it's not as heavy) - but each blast seems to warp the very reality around it, leaving streaks of energy in the air that take their own time to leave, and a very clear feeling of threat and power in even near misses. "Careful, one of these hits you dead on and you might switch teams." he says with a laugh, and now he's setting up for something else as an actual Midchildan magic circle opens beneath him directly after the attack.

Hotaru Tomoe has posed:
Sailor Saturn jackhammered and... "Ohhhh. Wow! You've gotten a lot better!" And she couldn't help but notice he didn't say he 'killed' Gaito. That was the thing about working with Riventon for so long. It was always *how* he said things. What he DIDN'T say, that mattered. He didn't like to outright lie. Because he was a smug prick. He liked to say juuuuuust enough to imply, but not so much that he couldn't rub your nose in it later and go 'Well, maybe if you hadn't just ASSUMED...'

But the comment of 'Aid of your moon princess'? That made her freeze. She looked at him with an oddly... hurt look. A look of just... almost broken hearted... 'How could you say that?' The kind of look that someone might give him as if he'd just betrayed her in some way. As if he'd just... there were lines you just didn't cross. But damn. And then it went away, after a moment. And the shockwave made her eek, before she was blasted back, making her wobble on one leg for a moment. Then righting herself. "You... you don't... know?" she asked softly. Then paused, shaking her head. "And really? Switch teams? Maybe, I could go on some vacations again, just me and your credit card," she said in a playful manner, before running in once more, this time... she went in a LOT more seriously... The glaive formed in hand and she STABBED...

Down. Between his legs. NOT to hit him, but instead to try and go between his legs, to throw off both his balance, his footing AND his magic circle... And then jump up and try and round house spinning kick him, spinning OFF the glaive pole to do it!

Amanda Faust has posed:
Finally, he's talking. Proud of offing a broken merman... but he let slip a clue: 'Jar of Memories'. So little info... but why is he suddenly going on and on about the Fade?

And there's a thought in the back of her head, that if she were at risk of fading, there's an escape -- but right now at least, it's easy to reject.

It can't fix a world she doesn't fit in, or give her the life she's sad she can't have, anyway, only turn that sadness and frustration into... hurting her friends and innocent people, probably.

She glares a little more when he says to call on the Moon Princess and Earth Kami. At least he doesn't know.

And then she's leaping out of the way of darkness, but reality goes weird, and there's a thought in the back of her head saying wouldn't it be great to take this energy and smack that grin off his face with it instead, and then he says that about switching teams and she's madder at him and herself, and he wants them to go all-out? Well, she has been careful the past several weeks. Maybe she can splurge a little.

Amy conjures a rocket-hammer, and it ignites and she flies through the air towards him, swinging...

...But while that draws others' focus to her? All manner of weapons conjure in the air around them, from mortars to fancy missile launchers, from molotovs to recoilless rifles, from rockets to IEDs launching EFPs.

Maybe, if he looks really close, he'll notice her soul gem going a quarter-dark just before she leaps, falls, or flies away from him just as there's an opening between others' melee attacks, and they FIRE.

Takuto Tsunashi has posed:
"My father went back to the island after college, you piece of..." Takuto glances at the girls, looks back to Riventon and yells, "COUCH FOAM."

He yells this right up until his fists impact the shield and he rebounds off it, shaking himself out from his shoulders to his hands and head. WHOOF. That was a shock. "Anyway I heard our side beat Rubeus actually. Like killed him, as in dead. So I wouldn't use him as much of a bar, there--"

'Draw your swords, Bishounen'--

"APPRIVOISE!"

Shining translucent phantom armor in red, gold, and white, which makes Takuto look like his Cybody, starts to form around him. "Dashing Entrance! Ginga Bishounen... TAUBURN!" and the armor finishes forming, and this glowing mecha boy holds up a fist in front of him. The piles on the back of the armor like a coat skirt detach and come up to start spinning around that fist, which starts to glow. He doesn't get what's so sad to the little Senshi who's here, so he just-- "Swords? Not for you, friend, you get TAU PILE CRUSHER!"

That glowing fist stops being a fist and starts just being a building brilliant blue white ball of energy. Then it--

ACKSHULLY Takuto gets slammed right then with the immense shockwave of dark energy, strong enough to batter the hell out of his armor and drive him back into a tree. "Dammit!" He staggers up and starts charging his distance energy falcon punch again. "TAU--"

Sayaka Miki has posed:
"I wouldn't be surprised if Blue were looking", Sayaka retorts immediately when Riventon says to invoke her Earth Kami. "He doesn't really need to intervene in things. He trusts in us to carry on the mission he has given us, and that's what I am going to be doing." Even if she still hasn't solved the dilemma of how to get at hin without destroying the vase.

At the very least they have gotten its name now, and probably some sense of purpose. Maybe it seals away memory, maybe it keeps them safe, maybe it even erases them. Regardless of what is going on here, they really can't have this fall into Obsidian's hand.

Sayaka raises an eyebrow at how much Riventon seems to play with words when it comes to Gaito. Is this use-your-vocabolary-day at Obsidian? She doesn't have time to think more about it right now though, and she has an attack to defend against. "You should know me by now. I don't give up or switch teams."

"Pretty Cure Sharpsong Bar!", she spins the dial again, forming a big cutlass of water she can somewhat hide behind. It doesn't quite cut it, and it shatters, leaving the remaining dark energy to rattle her. Even if it was a bit weaker than she expected. What was up with that?

"Hand it over!", she throws her normal water cutlass at him, aiming for his upper arm.

Takashi Agera has posed:
Honestly, later, the idea of Saturn talking about going on vacation with his credit card would make so much more sense, and he'd kick himself for not getting it. The Fade was on his side, but the Veil irritated us all equally. Instead, he got it entirely wrong. "What are you, Catra?" He asked. Saturn's attempted attack doesn't disorient him, but only because he's not actually on the ground - it moves him, but it's hard to trip someone who's already floating by default. Still he's confused, and throws a haphazared blast her way before floating higher up.

"Really, I don't know you at all." Riventon outright lies. "You're just another sparkle who happens to be blue and pretty ANNOYING." he says and totally not adding the last word quickly.

He grins a little bigger when the Bishonen's attempt to charge energy gets cut off by the blast; but then there's a little bit less of a grin when he gets up and continues forward anyways, with Sharpsong's blade coming at him and the clear threat Axion's throwing at him about all of the attacks heading his way. But he'd considered this, in a way, baited it in another way. Sharpsong was right; the Jar of Memory wasn't something that needed to fall into Obsidian's hand - even Riventon agreed with that, though he would consider his own hands quite differently. But Riventon's orders were to 'secure it if possible, destroy it if not' and a good trick was always worth doing more than once.

He puts up a series of circular barriers in the direction of Amy and Takuto - but he waits until her munitions find that moment to barrage, to act. He needed the smoke, the explosions, the distraction for the sleight of hand. Incredibly priceless magical artifact in the Device, shoddy replica practically about to break on its own out of the Device. Good news for Riventon, it was safe. Bad news, he underestimated how long his barriers would hold against Amy's barrage, and how MUCH of Amy's barrage there was. Maybe he taunted a little too much. But the barriers he was expecting to hold her back and keep him protected didn't quite do it, and a few rockets sail through and slam into Riventon - which means he doesn't even need to fake losing his grip on the device, especially not with Sharpsong's sword slams into his arm - and when he goes to manage that, Takuto's Pile Crusher of energy surges forward, and the final triangular Belkan Shield he puts up is just enough to keep him from being knocked much, much harder - the replica vase shatters as Riventon's barrier is pressed back by Takuto.

Riventon visibly pushes Dark Energy into the barrier to hold off the Pile Crusher, streams of black energy flowing into the purple runes and turning them into a sort of visual that almost seems like a photo negative for the runes, more otherworldly than even the standard "glowing runes in the air" things are.

"I hope next time I'll be able to take the gloves off. Looks like you broke it. Pity, but serves my purposes. Shattered, it's lost all of its magic, and there's one fewer way for you sparkles to avoid our Fade."

Not 'the Fade' - that's not what he says. But 'our Fade'. A slip in that moment, perhaps. "A nice attack, I'll have to improve upon it myself." he says as he pushes the Bishonen back agan as his shield bursts with kinetic energy to seperate them. "Lots of stabbing and punching and... whatever that was..." Riventon says, his eyes moving to Saturn. "It'll be fun to see how you do when I have both hands available to me." he adds. "Spoilers: it won't be well." he adds before duskporting away, leaving the heroes (and anyone who was watching) with the appearance of a destroyed artifact for now. Any studious examination might show the truth of the matter, but Riventon had to figure anyone in Obsidian who was scrying would have tuned out by then.

Takuto Tsunashi has posed:
Takuto's teeth glint same as his eyes, but it's because his grin is teeth-bared, his eyes alight with having fun with this as well as an absurd amount of heroic determination. He presses, and presses, and-- the vase shatters and Takuto falls back in surprise.

Then Riventon is being snide, and Takuto rolls his eyes and takes note of every. Word. He. Says. "Yeah, there's one less thing for Obsidian to use against us, too, buddy," he says breezily.

When Riventon leaves, Takuto drops out of his super armor, but stays in henshin. He sighs in irritation. "That... flyin' guy."

He looks to the pile of shattered pot and scratches the back of his neck. "Anybody have a tote bag to bring that back to a science type? Anybody have a science type?"

Hotaru Tomoe has posed:
Sailor Saturn eeps, losing her balance and toppling back. "W-what? CATRA?! That's SO RUDE! I am SMALL and have a STICK! Catra?!"

"I'd be FATE! Riventon, I'd expect you to know your Kohais better than that! I am not FUZZY nor do I have a totally-not-crush on someone who is very tall!" Yes, even Hotaru can see it. "Also, I don't have a sword, nor do I go slashy slashy with claws, or bitey bitey. Axion, can you start like, chronologing the people he works with so he can get better references of who to compare people with?" she asked.

However, as the vase was broken, he then said... Something that even she caught. "Wait... one less way to avoid... the fade? There's... ways to avoid the fade?" she asked.

And her eyes fell on that jar.

"Ummmmm... No... But... I... need to... go..." she said, giving a small smile. "But definitely, yes. Definitely get those to someone who is smart," she said sheepishly, before turning and running.

... Her smart science guy just left. And she and he were going to have to have a little talky talk.

Sayaka Miki has posed:
That was it, Sayaka sighs when she notices the fragmented jar. They don't have it now, but neither does the museum, and it Riventon is to be believed, the destruction of the jar was good enough to achieve their purpose. She is not sure if she completely buys that. Why wait to destroy it?

Repelling the vestiges of sleep, she perks up jolted when their adversary calls the Fade theirs. Have they converted it then? Or was it always like that? That's something Madoka at least should know, and probably everyone else. It seems either a taunt, or very important.

"Not me, sorry*, Sayaka denies at the Ginga Bishounen's request. "I came here from close by after a fight with Namakelder."

Amanda Faust has posed:
Amy lands from her attack, and EXPLODES Riventon dramatically... but the achievement is tainted by knowing she was baited into impulsively spending a big chunk of magic.

    And...

It's broken?! She figured from Riventon not worrying about it that it must be tougher than it looked... But she's not sure how to feel about that, it was sounding like it was an evil artifact he needed to get away from them. If it serves his purposes, whywas he--

"What do you mean YOUR fade?!" Isn't it Queen Serenity's?! she thinks to herself.

    And then he's gone.

She looks at the pieces. Get that to a science type. Bring it to someone smart.

She does feel a bit of a pang, knowing she doesn't qualify. "I didn't... bring a bag. But we can probably steal one from the gift shop. ...I'll get it." And she goes to do that, if she can get a bag without more property damage, anyway.
