- (PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: Jadeite is not in a happy place like even a tiny little bit.
- (PHONE) Mamoru Chiba texts: No he is not. And I'm not sure what else I can do for him aside from get him out, and I don't know how to get any of them out yet.
- (PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: Try and keep him from taking himself and everyone else out on the way? The nihilism is strong. It makes the heart hurt.
- (PHONE) Mamoru Chiba texts: Shit. Where'd you run into him?
- (PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: At one of the shrines when the youmas were supposed to distract all of us, so it was just the two of us.
- (PHONE) Mamoru Chiba texts: And he let you see what he was doing? Please say yes. Even if saying yes means I know exactly how deep the nihilism goes.
- (PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: No. I have some good guesses, but no. He did tell me we were all going to die and that it was rotted to the core and that letting it all get destroyed was the best choice for everyone, dark and light side. So still at the 'burn it all down' stage?
- (PHONE) Mamoru Chiba texts: Go to the places we're hitting with Agemaki-san, after we hit them. She might be enough. And if she's not, she or Usako might know who would be. Wherever he was, that's the kind of place you should go with them. I don't know what to do for Jadeite yet, but obviously I disagree with his assessment of the state of the world.
- (PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: <smile> I know. As I said, I have some ideas. I also disagree with his assessment, clearly. I told him I was sorry that he had lost everything, cause he's lost hope and faith and love. I don't know how to give those back to him.
- (PHONE) Mamoru Chiba texts: ... he's not always like that. I'm really distressed by how well he can compartmentalize if he's telling me he has faith in me and then he's letting it go like that. Listen-- we're releasing dark energy into the leylines. You have the project map, right? So you know which are the places of interest?
- (PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: I figured you were pulling energy from the leylines, but similar effect. Yep, I know where to go. I've some ideas on what to look for. I perhaps caught him on a bad day? He was holding a crystal and about to go inflict more dark energy on things, so perhaps not the most optimistic of moments.
- (PHONE) Mamoru Chiba texts: That's true. Maybe. I hope so. Neph was right that I should start with him, I guess. Please, if you can in your copious spare time, look into magical contracts with demons and how to break them without dying or being eaten? I asked Chrono Harlaown to look, too.
- (PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: I'll touch base with Chrono, he and I can possibly work together.
- (PHONE) Mamoru Chiba texts: It is... wildly selfish of me to continue putting the world at risk in order to try and get my friends out of the horrible situation I put them in that they can't even acknowledge they're in. I'm sorry.
- (PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: It is not selfish to try and take them with you. You are still at risk too, and you leave yourself in that situation to try and take them with you. That's not selfish at all. I hope Jadeite doesn't fight you on it too much.
- (PHONE) Mamoru Chiba texts: If it were only Jadeite it wouldn't be a fight at all. They all followed me in. If they could, easily, they'd all follow me out. But they've got that literal demon actively in their heads steering them back away from me, making them forget things, if I come too close.
- (PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: Or when it's been Jadeite for too long. The demon emerged at the end of our conversation.
- (PHONE) Mamoru Chiba texts: So you saw it.
- (PHONE) Mamoru Chiba texts: So you get it?
- (PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: I'm getting a better picture, yeah. I saw when Jadeite changed.
- (PHONE) Mamoru Chiba texts: I was afraid that would happen to me, but now I don't think it *can*.
- (PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: If it isn't happening to you on the regular, I think you might not be under quite the same control. You clearly hacked your governor module.
- (PHONE) Mamoru Chiba texts: Alternately, I am my governor module. Either way, it'll be easy to get *me* out.
- (PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: Comparatively, yes.
- (PHONE) Mamoru Chiba texts: Yeah, there's the whole 'they all know who I am' part that's awkward.
- (PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: Those consequences won't be quite so immediate and focused on you. It will all have consequences. I mean.. not nearly to the same degree, but I do understand that. I'm always me. I'm Naru no matter if I'm class, or debating the end of everything wiht a dark general.
- (PHONE) Mamoru Chiba texts: At least underneath, I think I'm always me, too? But I get what you mean.
- (PHONE) Mamoru Chiba texts: Like secret identities.
- (PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: Yep. Exactly. I probably sit in the cafeteria with people who have terrorized me and I have no idea.
- (PHONE) Mamoru Chiba texts: I'm really glad you know who I am.
- (PHONE) Naru Osaka texts: I'm glad you know who you are, and that you shared it with me.
- (PHONE) Mamoru Chiba texts: <3
