Scorpion meets Unicorn
Date of Scene: 27 October 2024
Location: School Library
Synopsis: Scorpia introduces herself to Hinoiri and tells her they'll be working together soon. This... will definitely be good. Right? Probably? Maybe? Hopefully?
Cast of Characters: Hinoiri Kirara, Scorpia

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara was in the library, flipping through another book. This time? She was flipping through an electrical engineering book. Did she understand it? Most of it? Nope. Not a word. She didn't even know why she'd chosen this one. It was so far beyond her, considering she studied magic and the like. But... well, you had to start somewhere. And some of the princibles were sound. If confusing.

And confused is where she was and what she was. She sighed, flipping another page and shaking her head. Her mind had been on... so many things lately. Walpurghisnite. The towers. The weird dream about fire. The portal to Kirakirafantastica was still closed...

So yup, a whole lot to worry about.

Scorpia has posed:
Sarah had a mission. Find Hinoiri. She'd not ever actually talked with the other girl, though she'd heard her name around school a few times. The blonde cared not for drama or gossip, so like always, she was intent on making a new friend. One she was tasked with protecting! She was good at that. Mostly.

With an almost overexcited yank, she threw open the doors to the library and scanned the space. Her eyes landed on Hinoiri and she grinned, whisper shouting, "Hinoiri! Hi!" And walking up to the table to sit down across from her. Glancing at the book in the other girl's hands, Sarah tilts her head, "What ya reading about?"

Sarah was not very book smart. At all. She knew this. She accepted this. But she could still show her friends that she cared by asking about their interests.

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara glanced over at the other girl, blinking a few times. "Heyyyy... you?" she said, unsure who this girl was or why she was approaching her. A... friendly... face? Mayyyyybe? She wasn't entirely sure on either count.

"Electrical engineering. I'm studying... things. For a project." She was hoping some of it would prove useful when it came to working on the towers. "So, it seems you have me at a disadvantage. You know who I am, but I don't think we've met? Also, please don't yell too loudly, they get... testy about that."

Scorpia has posed:
Blushing with slight embarrassment, Sarah extended her hand and nodded, "I'm Sarah! Ryoko's girlfriend. She said that I would be helping you on a mission, to protect you from anything bad that may happen." Her brow creased, "Unless... you're not Hinoiri. Which could very well be the case. She told me to look in the library and I didn't notice anyone else."

Her attention focused on Hinoiri's words, "OH! What kind of project? Is that what I'm going to be helping with??"

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara blinked a few times, looking up at the girl. "Scorrrrpia?" she asked. "That's... uhhhhh... you're... new to Obsidian, I take it?" she asked. "Wait, no, she said you were a spark-- wait, you're her roommate? Her *girlfriend* is supposed to be my bodyguard?" Hinoiri asked.

"Ugh. And why, exactly, am I supposed to trust you to keep me safe when you're literally dating Ryoko? Like, no offense? But your girlfriend is part of the people who keep trying to kill me." Pause. "Granted, she hasn't tried to kill me, but..." she mumbled, a frown on her lips. "... Point still kind of stands, though. I'm supposed to trust her girlfriend to stop her from trying to murder me if things go south? And protect me from her.... stuff?"

Scorpia has posed:
Brow creased again, Sarah sat back in her chair biting at her lip. She had to process Hinoiri's words for a moment or two before she could find the words she needed to say. Sitting up straight and with a confident look and tone in her voice, she replied, "She wants to be better, do better. And I will help her in every way that I am able to make that happen. If her grim get out of control, they will be taken care of. I will take care of you and do what needs to be done to get this job done. I do not work with or for Obsidian and I never will. They, the company, may not be evil. But the people who work there, are mostly. We have to do what we can to stop them from doing what they want. I need to help you do this. Will you let me?"

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara gave a small nod. "Okay. So she wants to be better, I get that. The biggest problem is that, right now, she's expecting me to go into the zone filled with murder monsters... with just her and her girlfriend. I'm cool with a lot of magical girls, that's fine. But that's a lot to ask."

"... So, who can vouch for you? Who knows you and will be willing to tell me 'oh, no, this girl? Totally legit, she'll keep you safe'?" Hinoiri asked, resting her elbow on the table, her hand moving to her palm. "And hey, not all the people there are evil, you know. I used to work for them. I'd probably still be working for them, if I could. But, well, then again... maybe not. They've been kind of kicking my flank a lot lately..." she mumbled. "If not for all of that. But I was also undermining them a lot, too..."

Scorpia has posed:
Nodding again, Sarah replied, "I understand, Hinoiri. Glimmer works for Obsidian right now? She can vouch for me. We do come from the same place. I'm not sure who else you know that has revealed their henshins, so I don't want to say anymore if Glimmer isn't enough--Wait, you do know who Glimmer is right?"

There was a touch of panic in her voice, scared she'd revealed something she shouldn't have. She did that a lot. Not meaning to do harm ever, but it happened too many times for her to not panic.

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara blinked a few times before shaking her head. "Nope? I've never met this Glimmer. Is... there anyone else you know? What do you mean you come from the same place? Is she another-- OH SORA DAMN IT!"

"'Lose to a person named Glimmer', are you from the same place Catra is from?" she asked, face palming. "Oh for buck's sake. I know *exactly* who to ask then. Oh gosh. Are you like Adora? Are you going to be doing stupid stuff because of your crush? Oh, of course you are. Is Ryoko your Catra now? Is that what this is? For buck's sake..."

Hinoiri rubbed her temple, tryign to resist the urge to scream.

Scorpia has posed:
If there were ever a time for Sarah to look as menacing as she could possibly be? It was when anyone dared speak ill of her friends. She stood, not caring at all that her chair clattered to the floor behind, and placed her palms atop the table. Leaning forward slightly, her voice low and serious, she spoke, "Don't you dare speak ill of the people who would do anything to do the right thing. They've sacrificed much to help many people. If you know anyone from Etheria, they will vouch for me. I too have walked on the other side of the line, and I will never go back there again. I will protect you whilst you help my girlfriend with her task. Speak to the people you know, and then we shall plan our mission, Hinoiri."

Sarah was the one no one took seriously. The one who was always there for others, even when they weren't there for her. Yet, she still gave everything she had. This time would be no different. Ryoko was doing her best to be a better version of herself, and Sarah wanted to be stronger, be smarter. She wanted to make her girlfriend proud.

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara blinked a few times, narrowing her eyes when Sarah knocked over her chair. She opened her mouth, then paused. She shook her head. "That's not it. I think Adora would love to do the right thing. I think she is terrible at understanding what the right thing *is*. Also, she stabbed me and nearly killed me, so not... exactly the person I'm going to speak the highest of. And I don't know what sacrifices she made."

"All I know is that, repeatedly, when push came to shove, she kept trying to force things. She tried to *make* Catra be the way she knew her. She refused to let Catra be the person she *is*. If you're like that? It's just going to be a headache to me. I don't want that. I'll ask Catra and... another friend of mine about you. But... that's fine. I'll text Ryoko a time when we can meet up."

Not to self, ask Double Trouble about this girl. The last thing she needed was it turning out this woman was... well...

Someone who'd let her die because Ryoko wanted her dead.

Scorpia has posed:
The tall blonde gave a sharp nod and straightened, her expression softening, "Catra and Adora have a lot of history, even if Catra doesn't know it. That can be a difficult thing to overcome. I think that if Obsidian and the sparkles as they're referred to, I think if they all took the time to have more compassion, that maybe things could be better. I'm sorry that you've been hurt so badly. I promise to make sure that doesn't happen again. Ryoko doesn't want you dead. I know her heart. I love her. I understand if your trust is light, but I hope to gain it in the days to come!"

And with that, Sarah grinned her normal, happy grin and turned to leave, righting her chair and making sincere apologies to the librarians on her way out of the library.

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara gave a soft sigh and nodded. "Yeah... I can't say I disagree entirely. Like, some of the sparkles are... compassionate. Very. But some of them are very murdery, too. There's this whole.... mix with them. You never know which you'll get. Some of them will murder you as soon as look at you, while others are very 'I will protect you no matter what' kind of situation. It's... hit or mix," she admitted.

"As for my trust... well, good luck. I'm not the most trusting person. But, well, this'll be a step in the right direction. And it's not like anyone else in Obsidian is willing to take the risk this will entail for her. So... good luck. And see you around," Hinoiri said, giving the other girl a small wave. Well... hopefully.... hopefully this would go well in the end.

Hopefully.
