| This is an ice cream parlor, with a white and black checkered floor, and simple booths, with the expected display case of ice cream flavors at the front of the shop. If it ended there, it would just be a normal ice cream shop with a weird name. Of course, it doesn't end there. The wallpaper seems to be artistically done.
The wallpaper has an elaborate beach scene painted on it, showing a wonderful ocean view of the beach. Lights built into recesses behind the paper make the water appear to 'shimmer' and the sun to 'shine', even in the evening hours. The employees even get into the 'theme' of the parlor, wearing bright, gaudy Hawaiian and tropical themed shirts, and sometimes sunglasses perched up on their foreheads, or worn like a headband. It's this wonderful theme that keeps bringing people back to the shop -- you can almost hear the ocean as the lights cycle. The place is always packed when school lets out for the day and those wanting a seat inside the shop usually try to get there fast, lest they run out of space! There are chairs and some outdoor tables similar to a cafe area just outside the shop. | ||||
