Gabriel Agreste is a self-made millionaire, a fashion designer who came from nowhere to be the talk of Paris and fashion the world over via his company and label Gabriel. A devoted husband and a passable father, he's known for being cold, focused, and intensely avoidant of people, preferring to meet via video or call whenever possible. His wife went missing some time ago, and within eight months of her disappearance, he left France altogether, venturing with his son Adrien to Tokyo, to expand the label and escape a city filled with grief and loss. Or, so the public knows. The truth is that Gabriel Agreste is the villain known as Hawkmoth, who terrorized Paris in an effort to obtain the Ladybug and Black Cat Miracali. Wielding the Butterfly Miraculous, he has the power to transform anyone touched by one of his Akuma into as supervillain persona, complete with unique powers and design. Those akumatized are offered the opportunity to keep the power to fulfill their desires if only they bring him those Miraculous... Because the public has one thing right: something terrible did befall Gabriel's wife. And with the wish-granting power of the combined ladybug and cat Miraculi, he can fix it. He can fix everything. To Gabriel, to Hawkmoth, this is worth anything, especially neglecting his role as a father.
