- Yuyami Kagayaki has posed:
In the city of Tokyo, armored vans weren't common, but they were seen occasionally. And nearly all of them made it from their starting point to their destination without a worry.
The sleek metal van rolling down one of Pikarigaoaka's streets really had no reason to assume it would be any different. Except within it, being moved from one safety deposit box to another, was a gem of more than just financial value. A rarity indeed, this gem was from the Dusk Zone itself, and a pristine conductor of Dark Energy. Which meant Takashi Agera's equipment had picked it up on sensors, and now, he wanted it. So he dispatched two of his department to fetch it.
Atop a building, kneeling on the edge of the roof, a girl with long white hair, in a red dress with the sleeves cut to allow movement waited, looking out towards a less-busy area of Pikarigaoaka.
Across the way from her, and a little bit further to the north, another girl with black hair with a purple and pink streak watched from her own rooftop, a compact of some strange design in her hand glows pink, while her lab coat is whipping in the frigid wind.
"You're sure it's coming this way, then?" Verre Reine asked, her hand on her ear to activate the communicator.
"Yeah, it just made the turn. Finally, it's out of more populated areas." Yuyami replied, her own hand on her own ear for the same reason.
Back on the other rooftop, in Verre Reine's outstretched hand, peices of glass begin to form into existence, creating the handle of a rifle, but instead of the further mechanisms of the gun, they end in three long rails. With her other hand she creates a blood-red gem, and slowly slots it into place within the magically-created tool. "Good, I'm tired of chasing this thing across rooftops. If it were up to me we'd have done this much sooner." she says, raising the rifle to point it at the roadway.
"The more people, the more likely one of the sparkles is in the crowd and calls for help. It's better to do it out of the way, and quick. Oh - here it comes." Yuyami replies in her ear. Sure enough, the truck begins to roll down the street, and Verre Reine points the rifle at the windshield, before with a slight sigh, she moves it down to the ground in front of the car.
A smaller explosion of dark energy in the setup propels the red gem forward like a streak of light, and when it hits the ground in front of the car, it detonates into a surge of Dark Energy that rips the wheel and part of the front end of the car apart, causing the whole thing to swerve off course into a tree planter.
Yuyami is down first, running towards the car. Looking inside, the two guards are actually still moving, if dazed. "They're okay!" Yuyami says happily into her headset. "Just knock them out, then." Verre Reine replies, sounding far less opinionated on the state of the vehicle's operators. When one opens the door, Yuyami reaches out with her hand and tendrils of energy reach out, wrapping around the two guards and sapping their energy until they fall unconscious in their seats.
Verre jumps down, her leap ending in a slow, hands behind her back ice-skating across a line of glass towards the car as Yuyami moves to the back of it. The door begins to glow a sickly purple as Yuyami reaches her hands out towards it - and slowly, with the horrible sound of crunching, crumpling metal, the door begins to deform until it is pulled open - ripped open, more accurately - by magical telekinesis. Yuyami climbs inside with her compact out, while Verre Reine waits near the vehicle. "Oh, do hurry, darling." she calls into the vehicle.
- Laisa Samuiko has posed:
It's a chilly day, which means that Laisa is having a good day today. Or at least, it means she's enjoying the weather. She also gets the wonderful distinction of being one of those people who enjoys eating ice cream out in the cold of Winter. Laisa only spares the armored car a passing glance as it drives by her and turns the corner. It's only when she hears the blast and the crash behind her, and feels the aura of dark energy coming from the same direction, does she suddenly turn around with a curious, apprehensive look.
Oh geeze. She really wanted to enjoy the cup of ice cream in her hands, to take her time to savor the sweetness, the richness of flavor, the chill upon her tongue and stomach. With a sigh, she turns around. "Farewell, my chocolate chip mocha ice cream. It wasn't meant to be."
Then she devours the rest in one giant spoonful, tosses the cup and spoon into a nearby trash can, and ignores the resulting headache. Considering her options, she suspects that anyone who heard that is going to be looking in the direction of the crash, so she chooses an alternate route to find a place to henshin.
Moments later, a low fog rolls in as Snow Angel Mou Fubuki approaches the site of the crash, and the theft. "Stealing from the bank, are we? What, is Obsidian hard up all of a sudden, or did one of your CEOs decide to help themselves to another billion yen bonus?"
- Usagi Tsukino has posed:
It's a regular Sunday afternoon, and Usagi Tsukino isn't on patrol, mainly because the absolutely bastards she ends up fighting these days have made a habit of causing trouble after midnight. No, instead she's on her way back from Nounamu Sweets, laden down with plenty of treats and sweets to share with her Mama and Chibiusa, Luna on her shoulder and enjoying the dry weather.
"I wish it wasn't going to rain again this week," she laments to Luna, tucking her chin so that more of her face is covered by the bright orange scarf wrapped around her neck, tucked into the equally orange hood of an otherwise blue winter coat. "We've had this really nice dry streak, and now everything's going to be wet again, and probably freeze -"
"And then you'll like as not be falling on your face everywhere," Luna mews with equal parts sympathy and amusement.
"Yeah, I'll be - hey! Come on, anyone would be falling all over themselves -"
CRASH!
The argument is derailed before it can really get going, the crash of metal and stone carrying through the air and making Usagi (and everyone else on the street) startle. A number of people begin to run away, but Usagi Tsukino holds her ground, closing her eyes. Please, please, please be something totally normal!
When she opens her eyes and turns to where the noise initiated, she sees a crumpled armored truck, a girl with white hair and a red address standing next to it, and swears under her breath before darting off to find the nearest empty alleyway. A moment and a flash of light later, Sailor Moon stands - well, not tall, exactly - and says, "Luna, you call for help, use the communicator! I'll go and see if that girl wants to get talked down!"
Then, she's off to the scene of the crime, long shoujo legs eating up the distance.
- Veronica Perenna has posed:
After the incident at Dream Kingdom, Veronica had been on the lookout for that water cat. She really lived up to her appearance: Veronica wasn't able to find her no matter how hard she tried. So far, at least. She is going to find that fairy. Just watch her.
She is both on patrol and keeping the alert high for any flash of azure. No youma or cat so far, so her luck is just average. At least she is still feeling fully energetic.
Leaping from rooftop to rooftop, the feline thief occasionally glances away from the alleys and into the main street, observing the flow of people, unchanging and undisturbed.
Good. No chance of-
Aaaand there it is. The feeling of dark energy pokes at her senses like a particularly annoying ant, and the Princess of Sarek immediately makes her ways over to the forcibly stopped car.
They could at least have given her the time to end her thoughts.
Despite the suddenness, her smiles turns catlike when she spots the girl from the painting theft. "Not a cat, but you will do", she says, loud enough to be heard.
"I gotta say, I am impressed. You really are serious about this." She nods sagely. "Sorry, my dear. But if you want to follow in my footsteps, you have to aim for actual wrongdoers. Not anyone who carries dark energy around."
She winks at her, then disappears into the ether just long enough to get inside. Verre's colleague deserves some company too.
- Hotaru Tomoe has posed:
It wasn't every day that Hotaru Tomoe was out in the city. In fact, most days she was reading or studying or doing any number of things doing school work or developing things for the future... But, as was one of the many forces of the world, today, coincidence had reared its head and she found herself waiting further into the city, holding some papers for one of the clubs she needed to photo copy and...
Then there was a boom.
"Oh dear," Hotaru said. Well, maybe it wasn't--
"I'm on my way!" Sailor Saturn was saying a few minutes later into the communicator, as she dashed from rooftop to rooftop, not yet arriving, but she'd be getting there soon, at least.
- Amanda Faust has posed:
It's Japan. Amy, pondering the subject of armored vans in Tokyo, might wonder if even the Yakuza would be so brazen. Wouldn't it be more mob-style to pay off someone on the inside for a cut or something?
Amy's not thinking about armored cars though, she's out for a walk to the park when she hears a distant crash.
She doesn't sense a youma or anything, so it's probably mundane, but... Who knows. They might need someone super-strong to pull someone out of burning wreckage, who knows? So she henshins and leaps up to the rooftops...
... And just looks shocked at Yuyami and Reine looting an armored car. "Seriously?! Does Obsidian not have plenty of money already? Like, nothing's stopping you from just breaking into a bank vault and then duskporting out with everything..."
She looks at the driver and guard, and to Kagayaki-san. "They're okay, right?"
...Amy decides not to wait for a response and rushes to the front to check their breathing.
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
With Luna putting out an APB over communicator, Mamoru can no longer justify eating chocolate in the ballpit reading fanfic on his phone.
Listen, some days...
Climbing out with the phone, the erstwhile crown prince of a dead global kingdom shoves the rest of his chocolate in his mouth before he says, "Hwee bhere foom," then "Eff Cwifkyl Bawaa, make uph!"
Nothing happens even though he's jogging for the balcony door, and he scowls and SWALLOWS and makes such a face as it starts going down really slow, and he tries again: "Earth Crystal Power, make up!"
Jumping off the balcony as he finishes henshining, he's almost too fast for himself, jumping off instead of superjumping off, and while people don't look up, they usually get annoyed if people land from parkour right in front of them. With a cape. Which is why he's glad he's hoofing it across the rooftops a second later, heart in his throat, adrenaline singing and prepared to look completely cool and collected when he arrives.
- Yuyami Kagayaki has posed:
And upon the arrival of Laisa - and her banter - Verre Reine's eyes turn to slits. "Well, delightful. I guess there was no reason not to do this outside of the crowds anyways, considering you're already here." she says.
"Well, except not getting anyone hurt when it crashed?" A voice that may be familiar to some comes out of the truck.
"Oh, I suppose." she says, tapping her chin with her finger. "If such things are important to you." she notes. "Anyways, it's just like people who have no wealth to assume we're here for money. But real value is in things that aren't simply printed en masse by the government."
"They got here quick - Who's out there, anyways?" Yuyami calls from within the truck's armored body.
"Rabble." Reinne replies, unhelpfully, and as a sigh comes from inside the truck, Reinne creates two of her smaller magical 'pistols' in her hands, glowing crystals in the body of them ready to be launched. "Oh, it's you too?" Verre asks the Princess of Sarek before she turns etherial. "Hmph."
Within the vehicle, Veronica's sudden appearance before the labcoat-wearing girl causes a startled noise as she's reaching for an armored suitcase. She has to stop and juggle the compact she was holding in other hand, from hand to hand, for a moment, before she turns and looks at the Princess of Sarek. "Who are you?" She asks, suspiciously. "You're not with us... Oh, Cha- I mean, Verre, she told me about you, I think. How did you get past her?!" she says sharply. "Well, whatever, you're in our way and also in my personal space!" she says, clutching the compact to her chest before blinking. "Oh, actually, this is perfect. A test!" she proclaims before opening it and turning it towards Veronica. A bright purple-pink light emits from the strange device, and she can feel her energy being tugged towards it - not in the same way that energy drain from a youma might do; if she's ever felt that, this feels different and... worse.
Verre keeps a pistol aimed at Laisa, while one tracks Amy Faust, but since she's going up to the front, for now, she's not a problem, and they return to point at Laisa. "I already explained, it's not about mon- oh whatever!." Verre says, seeing more pests in the distance heading towards them, before opening 'fire' with those blood-red crystals of Dark Energy that are launched from her 'pistols' towards Laisa. "Just crawl back to your hovels. And Kagayaki-san, hurry UP!" she yells.
From behind the compact, Yuyami's face is illuminated by the strange energy emitted from it. "Working on it." she says, her eyes glowing a strange puprle as she reaches for the armored suitcase with her free hand.
- Usagi Tsukino has posed:
"Moonbow Yoink!"
The call comes as Verre opens fire on Mou Fubuki, followed by a shimmering ribbon of solid light that rolls tight about Verre's body before yoinking her away, with all the force of one of those sticky, slappy hand toys ripping away from a target, and Verre is thrown - or at least, attempted to be thrown - a good fifty yards from her original placement by the truck.
"It doesn't matter what you're after, how dare you call anyone rabble when you're the petty thieves hurting innocent people?! You, who look down on others, should just buy what you want if you're so rich and noble."
The beautiful sailor-suited soldier of love and justice, Sailor Moon, has arrived on the scene!
"Let's stop this now, and I'll share some candies with you all instead of having a stupid fight!"
- Laisa Samuiko has posed:
Oh of course. It's not money. It's some super special diamond or the henshin mirror of some long lost magical girl or something else magical. Mou Fubuki doesn't know what it is. She can't see it from here. What she can see is her very favorite phantom thief princess turning ethereal and presumably heading for it. (Not to be confused with Chibi-usa's favorite phantom thief prince, who is also here.) Mou Fubuki gets a brief moment of joy in seeing that her girlfriend is here, but it seems like the Princess is focused on the enemy and honestly Mou should be, too.
All the same, Mou Fubuki whispers, and the wind carries her voice to Veronica. "I'm here to back you up, dear." She can't clearly see what's happening inside, but that actually makes her worry more.
There isn't much time to either flirt or banter before Verre opens fire on her. She's seen this attack before, and was expecting it from the moment the guns were drawn on her. When Verre aims both barrels at her, Mou causes the fog around her to rise up and start to crystalize. As the blood red crystals come her way, the Snow Angel creates a solid wall of ice in front of her, and another one behind it, each one getting cracked and shattered by each bullet.
When Sailor Moon attacks, Mou Fubuki sees an opening to shoot past Verre and at Yuyami. A flurry of snow blasts from her hands, into the back of the truck, and coats the inside with purifying frost. Because honestly the snow that's probably the best option she has that helps Veronica without endangering her.
- Amanda Faust has posed:
The Puella Magi does give Verre a glare at the pistol, but when allowed to check the guards she decides that has earned miss Reinne several seconds of not being the target of her magic. It's only fair.
She considers asking for a barrier, but people are busy, so she releases the seatbelts and hoists the two by their collars, pulling them out of the ruined cab and leaping for some cover to hide them behind.
- Veronica Perenna has posed:
Mou Fubuki's voice reaches Veronica, and there is a brightness in her eyes at her message. Good, then she will take care of this, and go back to Mou Fubuki. With whatever they wanted to steal.
"Don't worry, I am here to do what I do best, and that's take worries away", the Princess of Sarek says, a lot more energetic. "Of course, I am here to fight you, so I won't promise I won't be a bit of a pain. This is the Princess of Sarek for you", she says, tossing her dizziness-inducing calling card at her. Come on, pick it up, she thinks, not giving any signs of her thoughts.
The lack of movement, however, does play at a disadvantage when Yuyami starts using that device. The sensation that assails her is not the usual vampiric draining of the painting ward she is so used to, pulsing and padded. This one is ice-cold: she can feel it deep in her bones.
Her ears flatten against her head as she stares at Yuyami with gritting teeth. Somehow, even the connection to the painting feels a tiny bit further away. She sees a silver stream colour the flow of energy, and her eyes widen. Is that-
She tries to act as fast as she can, doing the first and quickest thing that comes to mind: slam herself against Yuyami.
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
He arrives on a rooftop, of course, as one does. He watches, he listens, he doesn't act yet; he grins when Sailor Moon yoinks the white-haired girl, leaving the van unwatched by her-- and in the very strangely-angled side-mirror he sees the reflection of the glow in front of Yuyami's face in the back of the van. He aims for the mirror--
'''STRUM''' ''castanets''
A red bolt of jagged afterimage light tears through the air in the wake of the rose-- it speeds toward the mirror and bounces off it at an angle, then heads straight for the compact in Yuyami's hand.
Tuxedo Mask stands up there, looking down, one hand on a hip and the other holding up his cape, then flipping it back. He's very tall, very handsome, and very judgmental. "You're stealing something for Riventon, and that's ethically irresponsible on top of being illegal and honestly jerky, and you hurt those poor drivers who were just doing their jobs! I, Tuxedo Kamen, won't stand for it!"
- Hotaru Tomoe has posed:
It seemed today was the day that the senshi arrived late. But, in a way, that likely wasn't the worst thing in the world. Because while Sailor Moon decided to try and throw her, it meant Sailor Saturn's late arrival got to come and join in at the best time, coming from that very direction that the other girl was hopefully being flung!
As suddenly GLAIVE!
The second-smallest and not-quite-most-adorable-but-definitely-weak-to-the-most-adorable senshi arrived on the scene in time to engage the gunner, her too-large-for-her glaive already out, whirrling and spinning about at the other girl. "YAH!" she called, slashing, cutting, a flurry of violence and danger. While she wasn't trying to actually cut her up, she was trying to keep her distracted, throwing her feet, blade and dull end of the glaive into the strikes, to make sure there was always something nearby for her to keep an eye on.
- Yuyami Kagayaki has posed:
The moonribbon wraps around Verre and tugs her away from the car as she makes a high-pitched, undignified yelp - before she reaches out with her hands to grab the bow, turning the part of it she touches to brittle cyrstal and breaking it before she can be lobbed into a a building or sent too far away, but she still has to spend some time recovering and is well away from her teammate, as she starts to turn her momentum back around, skating on a thin line of glass across the street. "You know, there are some things money can't buy and some things people don't even understand the value of, darling." she says, creating one of her long rifles in her hand. "Much like you can't buy grace or dignity."
Yuyami has a smile that's somewhat more out-of-character for her as the grasping tendrils of energy are pulled from Sarek into her compact. And then the car turns into a snowy, purifying freezer - and there's a surge of Dark Energy, visible to both Sarek and anyone nearby, from the belladonna-bloom brooch on her lab coat. It presses against the purification, keeping it slightly at bay - but it's then that Sarek uses her body as a weapon, and without the brooch's defense ready, she collides into and staggers Yuyami and causing her to back away, temporarily breaking the drain, but Yuyami raises the compact ahain - which is when the rose-energy-blast flies in and slams into the compact - it knocks it out of Yuyami's hand and to the floor, and it sparks in a very mechanical way as it also shoots sparkles in the hues of Sarek's blast outward. "No! Nononono!" she says in a panic, reaching to grab it from the snowy floor where it had fell - before it glows purple and lifts off the floor on its own before returning to Yuyami's hand. Now, with the compact slightly sparking for the moment and the armored car suddenly feeling very claustrophobnic, she holds the compact in her hand. Strange motes of energy fly from the compact into Yuyami - and she pushes her hand against the wall.
Instead of Yuyami becoming etherial - the truck ITSELF becomes etherial for the moment, and Yuyami is able to grab the armored case as it falls from its now etherial shelf, before scampering through the no-longer-there truck and towards Verre.
Back with Verre Reine, Saturn's swarm of glaive strikes hits the glass of the rifle and prevents Verre from firing a few shots at Sailor Moon - so instead she creates pistols and fires some of those chunky red crystal shots at Saturn.
Yuyami looks at her compact, sparking, and then going from bright pink to dull purple. "You broke it... Riventon-sensei and I spent hours on this!" She says, Dark Energy practically glowing off of her in an aura, particularly the flower bloom, as she puts it in one of her labcoat pockets for now. "How dare you! You... you don't get to stop me from helping him out!" Another nearby tree starts to glow with a purple aura as Yuyami outstretches her arm towards it as her own eyes glow with the same aura, and then the tree rips violently out of its planter, before she waves her hand and lobs the entire tree telekinetically at Tuxedo Mask. And probably some inevitable property damage nearby.
Verre Reine continues launching crystalline Dark Energy bolts at everyone who isn't currently getting a tree thrown at them (except Amy, because she hasn't done anything other than tend to noncombatants, and Verre is simply not that uncouth.)
- Laisa Samuiko has posed:
Mou Fubuki, more out of a desire to unbalance her enemy through pointless arguing instead of being actually correct, points out, "Actually you can buy grace and dignity. It's called etiquette class. I'm guessing a fake rich person like you wouldn't know about that, though."
Is Verre fake rich? Laisa doesn't know. She knows what an ego is and how to wound one, though. Whether or not the shot coming at her is a result of her snark or simply coincidental is a matter of interpretation. Mou ducks behind an ice shield just barely quick enough for the red bullet to cut through her silver-white hair instead of her cheek, and she clenches her teeth because yikes that's a bit close.
At the same time she can't just sit there and watch as her girlfriend takes the front lines, so she discards her shield behind her and skates towards the temporarily ethereal truck, freezing the road as she goes. She holds up her hands and creates a swarm of small icicles that each fling themselves at Verre in rapid fire, meanwhile she's trying to get close to Yuyami. Whatever is in that briefcase is clearly their objective, but she doesn't quite have the same ability to bypass the glass gun girl as others do.
- Usagi Tsukino has posed:
The moonbow breaks apart as the energy becomes crystal and shatters, and Sailor Moon draws from nothing her Spiral Heart Moon Rod, leaping into the air after Verre as she skates along glass back towards the truck. At the insult, she snorts, "New girl on the block, you are going to have to try soooo much harder if you want to insult me. Besides, was there really all that much dignity in your yelping?"
The Spiral Heart Moon Rod is spun in the air, and Sailor Moon starts to call the attack, only for Sailor Saturn to lunge for Verre, blocking shots and engaging her directly.
"Thanks, Saturn-chan! Since these two aren't going to leave, I might as well take us somewhere else, riiiii-TREE!"
The shout is a warning for Tuxedo Kamen, and then, Sailor Moon raises her hands and light pours out from her, sending the whole world sideways.
"Moon Space Crystalize!"
It's Verre and Yuyami's first times in Moon Space, and unlike a Device Mage barrier, this world is most certainly not just Tokyo but to the left and a little off in color. All the buildings are tall blocks and presents wrapped in paper, windows floating cut outs of stars and hearts and other shapes, the sky a watercolor gradient of red and yellow. High in that sky, the Earth is painted in place with thick icing, and a blimp slowly travels above the buildings. A fountain has appeared at the side of the crashed truck, replacing the destroyed planter.
"There," Sailor Moon declares. "If you're going to cause trouble, let's at least save the city some money!"
- Amanda Faust has posed:
"Or beauty." Red appends to Yuyami's list of unpurchaseables, solemnly. She glances back curiously as the truck goes etherial, but, busy now.
After she's delivered the guards behind a corner or something, she steps out and announces, "Hostility resuming in--"
"TREE!"
An explosion launches her at the tree, intercepting it in midair -- "Oof!" and placing her launcher against it, and there's an explosion and burst of mist before she falls to the ground with another grunt and rolls, hopefully having slightly slowed the tree down -- without breaking it! -- before beefing it.
- Hotaru Tomoe has posed:
Sailor Saturn was, admittedly, not enjoying getting shot at in close range. She was pretty good at fighting up close and personal. And even with the oversized glaive, she was VERY good at keeping herself in Verre's face, ensuring the girl couldn't get a clean shot. Even so, without a clear shot on her, the glancing shots were still cutting and cleaving into the girl, digging deep cuts through the girl and tearing into her.
Dark marks were forming along the edges of her suit from where the crystals were cutting into her, and even one shard exploded, glancing off her hip and drawing a small trace of red and a low whimper from her...
And it then made her slash out and down with the sharper end of the glaive. Up until then she'd been careful to not use the sharper end, to only go for flat strikes. But it seemed after that last hit she wasn't trying to be so nice, especially after those last few shots, the whirling dervish slashing and cutting before attempting to kick out the gunner's feet out from under her.
Ohhhhhh, they were in Sailor Moon's wild magical land. Neat. She didn't really... understand it that well? But she DID think it was a cool place. Weird, but cool. And she preferred weird, but cool, over a lot of things. Either way, though, she'd have to pull back, soon, she already was hurting a lot more than she wanted to admit.
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
"Kagayaki-san, hours is fucking nothing to him. He is my brother. I'm sorry he's lying to you at least a third of the time he opens his mouth to say anything to you," calls Tuxedo Mask urgently, but then Yuyami's literally ripped a tree out of a planter and has decided to telekinesis missile it at his head. Usagi is yelling TREE and he can't let it rip a hole in the roof of the building he's standing on! Someone might be in there! It's Sunday someone probably is!
So he jumps at top speed toward a spot just above where the tree is going to be in a fraction of a second, which is when Amy intercepts it and falls to the suddenly comfier floor--
Because abruptly neither the tree nor the world is where he expected them to be half an adrenalized heartbeat ago.
That means when he turns off superjump and lands on the tree with his full falling weight, he forces its nose (branches? roots? ??) down, and it digs into the soft playground mat floor and flips, bouncing, crashing into a wrapped present building with him tangled in it.
And then he crawls out and shakes twigs and pieces of bark and dirt from his hair and now-tattered clothes, and breathes mindfully while he studies the way Yuyami's moving for a second. He throws a rose at the handle right where it attaches to the briefcase. "He probably doesn't even care what's in there!" he yells. "It's just another damned shiny thing for him to put in his crow's nest or drain the usefulness from!"
- Veronica Perenna has posed:
Even as the truck becomes ethereal, there is just that brief moment of forewarning that allows Veronica to prepare, returning to the ether herself. She doesn't want to fall to the ground and lose precious seconds to stop Yuyami. She knows just how long her power lasts, so she quickly goes to the nearest hole and tears a chunk of metal off of the truck.
The truck was already broken as is. She quickly tosses the big shard of metal towards Yuyami, hoping that at least it puts her down for the rest of the hour when it becomes visible again. In all likelihood, though, she can just slap it out of the way.
The Princess of Sarek gives over a concerned look to where the tree has fallen, and quickly chases after Yuyami. It will be fine, she thinks: Tuxedo has healing powers. And she doesn't even know if it even did anything.
The Princess of Sarek scoffs when she sees the many crystalline shards Verre Reine is launching with no break. "Prismatic Wall!", she shouts, hiding behind the resulting transparent ivory wall. The crystals embed themselves in it, and many cracks form across its surface. Yet, it holds and Veronica quips at her snowsweet. "You see, she probably tried buying it, but she couldn't learn a thing and now she is bitter."
Moon using her Barrierynth puts a smile on Veronica's face. Either way, Yuyami's escape is cut short. "Good job on the timing, Moon!", she whispers into the clock. That gives her pause. Tuxedo Kamen should have a Communicator too. Before she can ask, however, she sees him jump up easily.
"So this is why it kept moving!" an familiar voice resounds. "Defiler! Bandit! Monster! How could you do that?" The water cat fairy appears from behind a tree, staring at Verre Reine furiously. "Sarek is a symbol of generosity, and you want to use a relic like that!?", she growls.
"Wait, what?", the cat thief stares confused. "That crimson girl has gained magic thanks to a corrupted relic of the Painting Ward", she stares at Veronica unamused.
- Yuyami Kagayaki has posed:
And Fubuki's insult does unbalance Verre, who gives Laisa a much more firey look. "Fake?!" She says, absolutely affronted. "How dare." she says, but now it's time for her to hide behind something as the swarm of ice shards sweep at her, and she swipes her hand out, creating a ward of multicolored stained glass to deflect the iceciles. The two of them are interestingly opposed, she notes with some degree of both hostility and respect. But she's smart enough to know you don't fight fire with fire - or ice with glass. And all of this happens right before...
A chunk of metal flies at Yuyami, but she is able to gain control of it with her dark-energy telekinesis - just a moment before it would have hit her in the face. And then like that - it's gone, because...
"Where are we..." both girls ask in unison, pausing to look around at Moon Space. "Wow..." Yuyami says, her eyes bright as her innate curiosity overwhelms her. Meanwhile, for Verre... "ugh, these colors are so garish." she says.
And then, while she doesn't hit Verre's legs, one of Saturn's glaive strikes gets in through Verre's continued attempts to fire at Saturn, causing her to reach out and suck in air through her teeth as she drops one of her 'pistols' and it fades into nothingness. She seals the wound with a layer of glass - it'll take more than that to stop her - but she does seem mad.
"That's where you're wrong. He doesn't want it for himself, he wants it to help us." Yuyami says, her hand on her chest. "He spends time with me, he takes care of me, he explains things to me. We work together." she replies. "While everyone else insults me, belittles me, tries to take this world away from me..." tears start to pool at the edge of her eyes. "While everyone abandoned me and called me weird, then he came and saved me." And then after looking down for a moment, she looks up - there are tendrils of Dark Energy, like smoke lines, wisping off the flower brooch and collecting around her as her eyes flare brilliant purple. "We're going to achieve greatness together. And nobody... is going... to stop... us!" she says, thrusting out both of her hands before a shuddering blast of Dark Energy erupts from them, a wave of energy fierce enough to push the small girl back a bit, towards Tuxedo Mask.
Verre turns to look at her teammate, as the energy surge pushes the girl slightly towards her. "Kagayaki-san, don't listen to them. They're getting in your head... It's time for us to switch partners." she says as she reaches out and catches Yuyami during her backblast shove, dancing on the ice, and the two of them swap directions, leaving her opposing Mou Fubuki, and the briefcase in Verre Reine's hands.
"You... you go away too!" she says, looking around. Everything in this world looks so fluffy, though. Soft. So it's all she can do but to thrust her hands out and fire a withering blast of Dark Energy at Mou Fubuki.
Verre Reine turns to look at the cat. "If she's so generous she should generously let us acquire what we came here for." she says, distaste in her voice before she simply tries to also blast the mascot with a generated pistol, and a second crystalline shot for Sarek as well.
"We need a way out of here." Verre says, looking around at the strange space. "Can't duskport with the case." And she begins to channel energy between her fingers, little flecks of stained glass generating in the air, as the ends of her brilliant white hair begin to turn to sparkling, iridescent glass as well. "Cover me..." she says.
"With what?" Yuyami growls, anger so clear in her voice. Despite that, she begins to try to pull various colorful objects and parts of Moon Space into her power and just lob them as improvised projectiles at Moon and Saturn, having already blasted Mask and Fuybuki - and Sarek is being currently shot at.
- Laisa Samuiko has posed:
Hearing Veronica's quip makes Mou Fubuki smirk. "Ah, that explains it. Well, in matters of class she can hardly compete with you, my kitten."
Mou can't help but notice what Verre does, that their powersets are kinda close to each other in ways. That's more than a little disconcerting because Mou doesn't really have dark energy to draw on. She's not sure she can keep up with her rate of fire.
Yuyami's confession of her feelings makes Mou a little less willing to insult her though. It's one thing to quip at 'I'm so much better than you'-chan but it's something else to bully 'welcome to my pity party have some tea'-chan. Mou frowns and says, "You're not the only one of us who has it hard, you know. He's also not the only one willing to be nice to you."
The withering darkness comes at her, and Mou manifests another ice barrier in front of her, but it melts as the blast goes through it and starts draining Mou directly. "Ugh... what are you?"
The water cat appears again, and it has opinions about what Verre is doing. Mou has her own opinions on that too. "Say what? You took something that belongs to Sarek? How dare you. Give it back!"
Yet she can't really get to Verre with Yuyami in the way, and she doesn't want the cat in danger either. Her only course of action is to point at Yuyami while a pair of rigid icy wings grow out of her back.
"Snow Heart Solstice!" she intones, before launching a purifying blast of ice and snow at the science girl. The wind picks up at the same time, swirling around the young scientist and trying to chill her further. Mou does not like whatever is happening to her right now.
- Hotaru Tomoe has posed:
Sailor Saturn was, honestly, pretty torn up from all the shots that had grazed her and was more than happy with the switch up as it was. When Verre leaped away, she pulled back to catch a little breather...
She was aching and kind of beat up already, all she wanted to do was make some print outs, to copy some papers. But noooooo. These people had to go and cause problems, didn't they? Had to come to HER town and break HER people and destroy things. Couldn't just... be nice. Could they?
Her glaive slashed out, cutting and cleaving, slashing through the projectiles launched her way, and sending some of them flying back AT Yuyami. She was also, well... oddly quiet today, not snarking, or making any cutting remarks... It seems she does not like gun glasses lady.
- Usagi Tsukino has posed:
"Saturn-chan! Fall back, or - no, I've got this, Moon Healing -"
A golden ring is cut into the air, but the attack is called off as Verre skates in such a way that the attack wouldn't hone in - darn!
Sailor Moon grinds her teeth a little, frustrated and worried about the amount of hits that struck Saturn while she was getting Moon Space up, and then there's a sad tale from Yuyami -
"Yuyami-san, that's where you're wrong. None of us want to take this world from you - if you want to be here, you should be." There's a heaviness to Sailor Moon's voice, as she twists her fingers and swaps the Spiral Heart Moon Rod for the Moon Scepter, the shaft of the pink rod elongating into it's staff form as she wields it. "This world of fear and terror, of monsters and enemies, of death and destruction... of rebirth and hope, wonders and miracles... no one has the right to take this world from you."
No one. Not Obsidian, with the Fade. Not her fellow heroes, if they have wanted to do what Yuyami thinks.
Even if Usagi is wearied and tired of this life, she knows very well, that no one should be able to take any of this from anyone.
"But that also means no one can save you from the consequences. I'm sorry that Riventon was the first one who found you... but you're not a little kid. You can look at what you're doing and decide if it's right or not. You're the one who's so scared of losing this world that you'd attack innocent people."
That shuddering blast is launched at Tuxedo Kamen, and Sailor Moon's eyes narrow, even as she shakes her head.
"Consequence number one: no one touches my husband!"
Forget the golden circle of a Moon Healing Escalation - this time, she goes straight for the pulsing blast that is the shining light of,
"Moon Princess Halation!"
It's her strongest finisher, a sustained beam of pure light, spiraling pink energy sparks trailing from it, shrapnel of energy that hits with the force of crystal in the shape of stars and crescent moons - and it focuses first on Yuyami before moving up the street to strike Verre, as well.
She could say something, about Verre having apparently stolen or corrupted something of Sarek's, but she thinks the Princess of Sarek has it well in hand.
- Usagi Tsukino has posed:
The projectiles thrown her way - those not blocked by Saturn - do strike, but the good thing about her world is just about everything is soft. The weight of the objects will still leave bruises, but not cuts, and as soon as the light of the Halation has died down, she dives in front of Sailor Saturn to make sure any remaining blows hit her, instead.
"Thank you, Saturn-chan, but let me take these, okay? You took a lot of hits, keeping us - and me - safe from that glass firing new girl."
- Amanda Faust has posed:
Amy's landing on the soft barrierinth ground is not as bad as she was afraid it was going to be, although she's still shocked for a half-second by the unexpected change. "Man, why don't I get a barrier..." she mutters. "I mean, before I die..."
Amy kips up and calls out, "Thanks, Moon!" She hefts her rifle and takes aim at Verre Reine, but... hesitates, as Yuyami describes why she cares about their time with Riventon.
Amy lowers the weapon slightly. "It's not bad that you're weird, I wish you'd met us sooner so you could know that... it's bad that you're helping Obsidian hurt people. And that she's mean. Where's your promise of harmless dark energy, huh? Is it always just a few years aw--"
And then when Verre ends the speach by attacking Tuxedo Mask, the Puella Magi shouts "HEY!" and starts shooting. High-caliber rocket-propelled bullets that try to home in on the bits of glass the Dark Magical Girl has covered herself with, as long as Amy can track where they are anyway.
"Huh, a relic?! Hey, it's you again--" Amy starts to call out to the cat, but then... the crimson girl what?!
"I did not! This power is 100% my own soul, thank you very much!"
Although as the others react, Amy looks between them, and the cat fairy, and Verre Raine. "Ohhhh, you meant her. Right, yeah, I'm used to people using crimson to just mean red rather than a hue between red and rose. Good eye..."
Amy blinks, and looks back at the cat. "Wait, who are you again?!"
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
"Don't you think we'd welcome you like we've welcomed everyone else Riventon's handled?" Mamoru explodes, flinging his arms out. His dark blue eyes flash behind the slender white mask and, tattered, he steps closer. "Don't you think we'd welcome RIVENTON if he stopped hurting people? We've made him the offer so many times-- he has so much family! But he's afraid to live without dark energy. He thinks it's the only thing that makes him special! But it's the only thing that stands in the way of his actually achieving greatness--"
His voice is aggrieved-- no, it's pained. And he's so busy passionately trying to explain what he KNOWS isn't getting through that--
DARK BLAST
He's simply not there anymore, he jumped too fast. But where did he jump aside from 'up'?
'At,' apparently. He's not a speedster like Haruka or Niji, but he's extremely good at taking things out of the hands of girls and running off with them. He rockets on through and makes a grab for the case before superjumping awaaaaay.
- Yuyami Kagayaki has posed:
Yuyami glares at Mou Fubuki. "I had it hard. You think you can throw anything at me that'll slow me down after what I already put up with? Oh, this is EASY compared. I'd fight a thousand sparkles if it meant I can keep the life I have now. That's who I am now." Yuyami says, emphasizing she's a who and not a what - but also her comment about keeping the life she has now actually causes Verre to pause and for her eyes to look to her teammate.
But then first comes Saturn, and the field scientist has to try to use her Telekinesis to disrupt the attacks, causing them to miss ever so slightly, and right before she can generate a surge of energy to blast Saturn, a storm of wind comes and Yuyami has to cross her arms in front of her, as they glow with energy, trying to resist the purifying snow. And she - or her henshin - is doing a decent job, until the sparkles-and-crescents blast of Halation hits her, and thanks to the henshin's resistances already being at the breaking point from Snow Heart Solstice, Halation overwhelms it, and the two attacks send the girl backwards with a cry out.
And before Verre can assist her teammate, she's being pinned down by Amy's attacks, which she can parry with her glass wards, but they prevent the second consequence; her also being struck by what's left of the Halation blast. Which means she's lost her grip on the case, just in time for Tuxedo Mask to get it, and she (apparently heedless of Sailor Moon's warning) stops actually resisting the attacks to fire a very close crystal blast at Tuxedo Mask out of spite - even though it causes her to eat some of Amy's shots in addition to the Halation. That's the kind of girl she is.
But after the attacks end, the two girls are still... there. Sure, they're marked up, scuffed henshins, wafts of smoke on them, bruised, but they are not broken. Not defeated. Not... entirely.
Yuyami reaches out like she has any hope of grabbing the suitcase from Tuxedo Mask even though she clearly doesn't. "No... I... need it... for him..." she says, taking a step forward.
Verre looks at Yuyami, then back at the other girls. And still she generates a new rifle in her hands. "Fine. You want to see what we can do when you push us? You want to see what Dark Energy can really do?" She asks as he hair suddenly flairs into entirely glass strands, energy emanating off of her.
And then there's a pause and a chill in the air before Riventon is there. But it's not Riventon, not really, he's see-through, it's an image. "This fight isn't worth it, get back to the department. You're both more valuable than that rock."
Yuyami opens her mouth like she's about to object, but Verre puts a hand on her shoulder and duskports out before Yuyami can even air whatever her objection was going to be. The Riventon-image is still there, and he turns to look at Mamoru and Saturn specifically for a moment. He's just silent, sharing that moment, before the image fades out, leaving the box in Tuxedo Masks' hands and the Moon Space otherwise empty of Non-Sparkles.
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
That short-range crystal blast is... well, it shouldn't have been unexpected, and Mamoru can see Kunzite going smh in his mind's eye, just before the bloom of pain makes it from his shoulder (where his henshin was already torn) to his brain and causes the case to drop from suddenly nerveless fingers-- but he catches it with his other hand as he hoofs it back up to the rooftop to look down at them again like a gargoyle.
And he sees Riventon and mouths, Thanks.
- Hotaru Tomoe has posed:
Sailor Saturn was admittedly quite tired after all of those blasts... And honestly? She appreciated the protection. She didn't feel so good after all of those strikes. Dark energy did not feel good, not at all.
At least she didn't have as many terrible reactions like she used to. But as the girls left, her eyes wandered towards the briefcase. She began to let out a soft, relaxed sigh... before collapsing down to her knees and sighing.
"They've... got it really bad..." she mumbled gently. She, admittedly, though, felt kind of tired. As she got to her feet with a grunt. "Way to gooooo..." she said. "What did they try to steal, anyway?"
- Laisa Samuiko has posed:
Mou Fubuki is feeling tired from that. The glass cutting through her hair was no big deal in the long run, but getting wrong-energy drained while also firing off her magic as fast as she could was... a lot.
So she's quietly grateful when the two of them suddenly retreat, under orders from their boss. Especially since they didn't get to keep whatever was in the case. Her eyes turn immediately to Veronica as she skates up to her side. "Are you alright, dear?"
Then she looks at the water cat. "You were there the other day, weren't you? If you're connected to Sarek, mind telling us who you are? Anything you could share about that girl would be helpful, too."
She stands close enough to Veronica to be leaned on, if that's wanted or needed.
- Amanda Faust has posed:
> I'd fight a thousand sparkles if it meant I could keep the life I have now.
"I know! But you don't have to fight us, let us find you other magic!
There's a brief quiet moment after attacks fly. Amy looks at the others, then at the ground. "If it means that much to her... would it'd've been better if she'd talked to Kyubey, after all? Maybe she coulda figured out how to make our magic better..."
But then Verre Reine is threatening to escalate. Amy's suddenly got a shoulder launcher (with red bands before each end of the tube indicating incendiary ammo) levelled at her "Please don't." She honestly doesn't want to see what they'll do when pushed.
And then
Riventon.
She immediately turns to aim at him before realizing he's a projection... and her mouth opens, but she's not sure what to say. Him calling his comrades back is good, isn't it?
- Veronica Perenna has posed:
Coralie's eyes restrict at Verre's words. "You have no idea. You Just think you know all you need. I don't even mean that Princess! Give it back! You have no right to use it for evil!", she insists, and the water she is made of is traversed by many ripples.
Both bullet and crystalline strike depart just then, and for the second time that day, Veronica lunges forward, pushing outwards what's left of the shield to clash against the crystal. The wall breaks into many shards of moonlight against Verre Reine's first attack.
The bullet is still cutting through the air with a whistle that is very loud to Veronica, making her imvoluntary close her eyes for a second on her way to the cat. She scoops her up in her arms, but the bullet hits Veronica cutting off her breath, and making her fly for a meter and grimacing at both the impact of the ground and the bullet.
Standing up slowly, she goes to Mou Fubuki's side, and gratefully leans to her side while she interrogates the cat she is holding. "Are you ok, Mou, my love?", Veronica asks quietly, looking at Mou Fubuki with a slight squint of her eyes as the blonde thief examines her from head to toe.
The water cat shakes her head. "I am the fairy of the Princess of Sarek, the one who fought hard to create the Ward." Veronica winces, but remains silent. "No idea who that girl is, and I only want her to stop using a miracle for evil."
- Usagi Tsukino has posed:
Verre blasts Tuxedo Kamen again, and Sailor Moon fires off a second, rapid-fire purification blast, this one without callout - just a bolt of light aimed right for Verre's head.
"You think you can show us what Dark Energy can really do?" Sailor Moon shakes her head, twintails bouncing at that ridiculous statement. She hasn't dropped her Scepter, and she stands protectively in front of Saturn. "I'd say you should ask your boss about Paris, sometime, but it's not like he was there."
And maybe the diss is unnecessary, but then Riventon's voice is there, and her husband is hurt, so she just stares him down until his after image vanishes and she can scoop the collapsed Saturn up and run over to him - two birds, one stone, that way.
"Honestly, I have no clue, but we should figure it out so we can find out if we can give it back. I don't really want to be a hypocrite about stealing something we stopped them from stealing."
She reaches out to Mamoru, gently touching around his shoulder, trying to check from broken skin and torn flesh, to see if he's bleeding or just bruised.
It's as she's doing that that the water cat explains what she is, and Sailor Moon twists to look at her. "So... does that mean you're supposed to be helping Sarek-chan?"
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
Tuxedo Mask winces at the gentle touch, then sets the briefcase down so he can take the hand Sailor Moon is probably drawing back, and kiss her fingertips. "It's just blunt force trauma and a little abrasion," he says in a low voice, "that's all. I'll be fine in a minute." A beat, and he has the grace to look very sheepish. "Right. Sorry. My pain counts too. I love you."
He looks over, glancing at Mou Fubuki, Sarek, and Coralie... then to Amy, and then his gaze falls on Saturn. He leaves the case there for someone else to open as he lets go of Usagi's hand to go help Hotaru. "Hey, need heals?" His voice is gentle.
- Laisa Samuiko has posed:
Mou Fubuki's heart aches at the sight of Veronica getting wounded. When she's leaned against, she puts an arm around her back and scowls at where the monster who harmed her precious beloved was just standing. That scowl turns into a frown, and eventually softens into a look of concern as she turns her eyes at Veronica.
She might not have much warmth in this form, but she can still be gentle.
To the water cat, Mou says, "Ah, so you're the fairy. Stayed hidden from us the whole time, haven't you?"
She glances over at the interaction between Tuxedo Mask and Sailor Moon, and even if she doesn't say anything she kinda realizes she knows exactly how Moon feels right now.
Back to the fairy cat of mystery, Laisa looks at it and asks, "Well, you can be sure we'll do what we can about that girl. We can't leave her running amok like that."
- Usagi Tsukino has posed:
"Your point counts too," Sailor Moon confirms, giving Tuxedo Kamen a kiss to the cheek. As he offers Hotaru first dibs on healing, she reaches across him to pull the briefcase into her lap. She frowns at all the locks, and then brings to fingers to the locks, one at a time, brows furrowing in concentration, mumbling a quiet,
"Moon... lock... implosion!"
As one by one each lock's mechanism begins to glow with a faint pastel color, transformed from ordinary materials to cosmic energy in a split second.
And then the explode, pop, pop, pop! in a little shower of metal and light.
The briefcase is mostly undamaged by the effort, and then she pops it open, revealing a number of beautiful gems, including one pitch-black, almost light devouring stone with perfect facets. Just looking at it feels off, and when she brushes her hand over it, it's cold to the touch, even through her gloves.
"Found what they were looking for," she reports grimly.
- Amanda Faust has posed:
Amy tries to track the injuries and how everyone's doing but also TALKING CAT. "If you're the Fairy of Sarek, how come you're just showing up now?" Amy wonders.
MOON LOCK IMPLOSION.
Amy blinks at that, she had been wondering if she could thermite the locks without risking damaging the contents, but...
"That was the most lootbox animation thing I've ever seen in real life."
Beat.
"Is that... what happens if you put... moon energy into something and don't throw it...?"
Amy approaches to look into the case. "Did we just get the chaos emeralds? How does Sarek use them?" Amy looks to Coralie, and then sweeps an arm in the direction of the van. "And why did those guys have them?"
- Veronica Perenna has posed:
"No, not really", Coralie denies Sailor Moon' as she fluidly slips out of Veronica's grip when she feels it relent. "I was her fairy, so I don't think we are going to be together. Verre Reine... Yep, she is a common enemy. So I will help you out this time." She lands on the ground and turns towards Veronica.
Veronica nods and forms a smile towards Laisa. "However you want to deal with it. I am still the Princess of Sarek, so I will keep doing my job as I always have. If you want to tag along, you may. Feel free to pass by my dorm too."
"So you are", Coralie replies. "But I gotta thank you. That was clutch. Now go on rest up. I don't think you should go on. Not right now." She licks her lips and adds. "I won't pass by your dorm. Not really interested."
"I was exactly where I should have been. I do keep an eye on the situation. How is not your concern", Coralie replies to Mou Fubuki and Puella Red, shutting it down early. "It's just due to Verre Reine I came here. That much explains itself. Right?"
- Laisa Samuiko has posed:
Mou looks over to the gem that Sailor Moon has and says, "Should we just... break it now? I don't where it came from or what it is, but I can't imagine anything good coming out of using it."
She looks at the soft landscape they're in, and then looks back at the case. "As for the rest of them... honestly, we can probably leave them with the security guards who got knocked out? They probably know where it's supposed to go. I also wouldn't be surprised if the cops showed up soon."
Laisa looks back at Veronica and says, "Do you think some healing would help you?"
As for Coralie, she notes, "Well, I suppose you have your way of doing things. We'll look forward to working with you, when we can."
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
Since Saturn's honestly mostly just tired and has her own healing in hand, after a few quickly exchanged words Mamoru's back over by the others, hand over his own shoulder, glowing faintly. "Ugh. Ugh," he says with feeling, slidestepping back when he sees the gem among the others. "You should be able to just purify that out of existence. What are these other gems?" He looks in vast confusion at Amy. "What are chaos emeralds?"
He nods firmly to Mou Fubuki, "Destruction. That's even more-- that's-- it has to go away."
Then he looks at the water cat and laughs because 'i'm not really interested' is SO VERY CAT. "Who needed healing...?"
- Usagi Tsukino has posed:
"Is that... what happens if you put... moon energy into something and don't throw it...?"
"Yep. I mean - if I throw anything but my tiara... or my rods... or my jewelry... I guess? I've never tried them? It just kind of blows up on impact. Way back when, my tiara blew up, even, I overcharged it and ended up getting this new one a bit later," she taps the tiara on her forehead, though Amy might remember when she blew up the first one - it was when she took a lightning strike for Amy, while fighting an enemy who really hated Sailor Moon personally.
Huh, she never did figure that one out. Oh well?
The real drama is happening over with Sarek, anyway, or... well, maybe not real drama, but... "So you were the partner of the other Princess Sarek?" It's probably obvious, but, she just wants to be sure, while they're considering these gems. "Do you have anything you can tell us, about Verre Reine?"
Mou - as Veronica's girlfriend - obviously has her position as the one taking care of Veronica, so she's not going to push further, especially since she doesn't look too badly hurt.
"These other ones, we should definitely give back. We don't need them, and these guys don't deserve to get in trouble for losing all of them!"
Which they might, even though their armored truck was obviously attacked.
"But this one..." and Sailor Moon picks up the cold dark crystal with careful fingers, just enough to drop it out of the briefcase and onto the ground. "This one, I'm with you, Mou Fubuki-chan. We should wreck it."
She considers for a moment, then reaches for her broach, and the Silver Crystal.
"Mou Fubuki-chan, Sarek-chan, we can do this together, if you two want, and then Red-chan can burn anything that's left?"
- Amanda Faust has posed:
Amy nods at the memory of handing Sailor Moon a rocket launcher to see if she could charge and fire the rocket, and she ended up charging the whole launcher and having to throw it.
Her tiara exploding is a moment that isn't often recalled in Amy's memory, but she'll never forget Sailor Moon taking that hit for her from Carbonado, someone acting like Amanda was worth protecting for the first time in her life.
Amy's reflecting on that until
What are chaos emeralds?
Amanda sighs. "Video game reference. Sonic the Hedgehog. There's these gems you collect in special stages -- or sometimes as part of the story -- in the first game and Sonic CD they were only needed to fully complete the game, but in later games they unlock a temporary super mode."
"...So how did these guys get magic gems anyway? Are they all magic or just that one? Is it dark energy, or..." She crouches by the case and gingerly reaches out a fingertip to poke it, making clear she's not trying to grab it -- Sailor Moon already touched it, so it's apparently safe to touch --
It's cold. Cold that could wither her to a husk, or that she could make her own and let in, good and sweet but gross, but maybe she could use it for good
--Amy yanks her hand away with a shiver, so fast that the motion's follow-through makes her stand up and take a half-step back.
"Yep, that's Dark Energy alright... but where did it come from? Was Beryl's gem like this? Stronger?"
She takes several steps back to be out of the way of whatever's about to happen. It shouldn't hurt her, but she remembers that purification blast aimed at her on the seafloor and it's just kind of unsettling to realize you're the target.
"Are the other gems even magic? I'm not an expert on magic gems -- if molten iron or shaped charges wouldn't destroy them, I'm not sure if-- well, my powers are also magic, hmm..."
- Laisa Samuiko has posed:
Mou looks at the gem as Amy touches it, then at Moon. She nods firmly and says, "Yeah, whatever that thing is, it's wrong. If the four of us can't break it while combining our powers, then we'll really start to worry."
Looking at the other gems, Mou says, "I'm pretty sure the others are just normal. We can probably put them back in the case and let the bank and the cops deal with them. They're probably really valuable... I do have to wonder who this case was supposed to belong to, but who even knows if they knew what they had?"
She gives Veronica a hug, and then releases her. Mou extends her hand in front of her as a ball of mixed snow and ice start to form within it. Then she looks at the Horror Orb from the Dusk Zone and picks it up, finds a Moon Space bench to set it on top of, then starts to take a few steps back. More snow gathers in her sphere, and she clasps both hands around it as icy wings grow from her back, weighing her down as they channel more and more frosty power. Solid ice forms around her feet, rooting her to the ground. Normally in combat she has to choose between power and mobility, but there's nothing to dodge here at the moment.
Her eyes turn a strange shade of icy blue as the wind whispers her attack's name with her voice.
"Snow Heart Solstice!"
The gem is blasted with purifying snow, and then frozen in place for the next person who wants to take a shot at it.
- Usagi Tsukino has posed:
"Like Mou Fubu... like Mou-chan said," sorry, Mou-chan, you're getting upgraded in closeness now to make your name easier! Heart Emoji! "I think the rest are normal, or at least, they don't feel like anything? But this one is totally evil, so..."
She follows Mou Fubuki in getting to her feet and facing the Dark Energy Horror Orb (the Horb) now placed on one of her Moon Space benches, and cups her broach, opening it up directly for a blast of power.
She's rarely used the Silver Crystal so directly, for fear of someone trying to shoot it or snatch it away from her in the heat of battle. But there's no one here to worry about, and every good reason to unleash all she has on this thing before it's time to drop Moon Space...
So she closes her eyes, and when she opens them, her tiara has vanished, the Moon's sigil glowing brightly on her forehead. Her eyes, too, gleam with power.
"Moon Crystal Power!"
The light that blazes forth from her broach is not a simple beam, but a blast of purifying energy in all the colors of the pastel rainbow, a corona of cosmic energy and warmth, of love and justice, the simplicity of setting things back to rights, of the shining brightness of stars.
For a bare instant, her fuku flickers in color, her skirt and collar going from solid blue to a gradient of white to yellow to green to blue, her bows extended.
Then it's over, and Sailor Moon closes her broach with a weary breath, Moon Space wavering.
"I can hold it for another minute or two," she cautions.
- Amanda Faust has posed:
> I do have to wonder who this case was supposed to belong to, but who even knows if they knew what they had?
Amy grits her teeth and clenches her fists a bit. Dark Energy isn't limited by the Fade -- some rich person who was going to get these very well could have learned to use Dark Energy and become another foe.
She remembers Mamoru and Usagi-chan reminding her what lengths otherwise nice people will go to. What it does to you.
The kind of people who become rich and powerful in this world... She can imagine what more they would take if they had (dark) magic. That must be prevented at almost any cost.
Mou Fubuki and Sailor Moon have got it. Amy lets out a breath she didn't know she was holding, when the Silver Crystal's light fades and the Horb is no more.
"Alright... let's put the case back in the van, or with the guards... I guess if they're still asleep we can drag them back into the cab..."
But while she's got un-guard-supervised access to the case, and the van, she's checking if there is anywhere obvious a record -- like a mailing label or manifest or anything -- that says who's sending this delivery to who. She can take a picture of it with her phone.
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
Moving back to Moon instantly the moment she wobbles, Tuxedo Mask reaches for her, shoulder healed-- but it's not like she can lean on his shoulder if they're standing up anyway-- and envelops her in a hug. "You did that really pretty fuku thing with the rainbow pastel butterfly energy again," he murmurs, smiling down into her hair. There's something about him that's tiredly trying not to apologize for Riventon's continued bad behavior, for which he is not responsible, but even without skin contact Usagi knows her husband.
"That sucked. You guys want to come over for carbohydrates and hydration?"
- Laisa Samuiko has posed:
With the gem gone, Mou lets out a sigh of relief. She stands still for a moment or two to catch her breath (wow she's a lot more tired than she thought), and then she starts trying to shake herself free of her self-imposed icy prison. She shakes her shoulders until her wings break off and fall to the ground, then pulls her legs up until the ice around her feet breaks. Only after brushing off any remaining ice does she return to the Princess of Sarek's side, and moves back to support here.
To Tuxedo Kamen, she says, "Yeah... that might be a good idea." Then, to Sailor Moon, she says, "Thanks, Moon-chan," because apparently they are on a one-syllable-chan basis now.
