"Ready, Wawna?"
The video jostles, the blurry view of the little Cybody's twintailed head briefly appearing at the top of the screen before the angle steadies and the image resolves to that of Wako's dorm room, decorated in its bright sherbet colors. Wako stands in the center of the viewscreen, all decked out in the full military-glam of her Ginga Otome henshin, Vice President draped gamely across her shoulders like the world's tiniest little fox stole.
From behind the camera of Wako's cell phone, Wawna chimes in the affirmative. < Recording, Miko-sama! >
An awkward startled reaction flashes over Wako's face before she recovers her aplomb. Striking a pose, she draws in a breath - and, in accented but respectably clear English, she begins to sing.
"Poets often use many words
to say a simple thing.
It takes thought and time and rhyme
to make a poem sing..."
She sways gently in place to the back and forth of the melody, Vice President's fluffy tail swishing in time.
"With music and words I've been playing.
For you I have written a song--"
On 'you' she points toward the camera.
"To be sure that you'll know what I'm saying,
I'll translate as I go along..."
At some cue perhaps prearranged with Wawna, music kicks in, supplying a jazzy backing track. Wako's swaying in place turns into dancing as she launches into the change of tempo without missing a note.
"Fly me to the moon, and let me play among the stars.
Let me see what spring is like on Jupiter and Mars.
In other words, hold my hand.
In other words, darling kiss me..."
She flashes a wink to the camera, before clasping both hands over her heart as the song continues:
"Fill my heart with song, and let me sing forevermore.
You are all I long for, all I worship and adore.
In other words, please be true.
In other words, I love you!"
On the last line, Wako does a little twirl in place that makes Vice President pin his ears back and cling to her shoulders for dear life, ending with both hands held out to the camera.
The music ends, and Wako waits a beat before, caught up in the moment, she blows a kiss. "Happy Valentine's~!"
The video ends.
"Okay!" Flushed with adrenaline and feeling pretty pleased with herself, Wako hurries to the desk and bends to look at the screen of her phone. "We got it, right?"
< Recording complete, Miko-sama, > Wawna replies. < No errors. >
The earnest evaluation brings a laugh out of Wako. "I couldn't have done it without your help, Wawna! So I guess all that's left now is to send it to Takuto-kun and Sugata-kun..."
She begins to reach for the phone, but then hesitates, her hand hovering in the air. At the last moment, she's swamped with second thoughts: isn't this a little too much?
< Transmission sent, > Wawna chimes.
"--wait, what!?"
