Lunch Sentinels

Synopsis:	Finally! Two of the Steam Sentinels meet. They discuss things. Yuuto tries to eat the cupcake of doom. Koharu gets a confession of love?! And is it Fours or Force?

Koharu Itamae has posed:
Koharu Itamae was eating lunch. She bought lunch from the cafeteria and Dabble, her fairy loved that because it was one of the few times he could eat real, honest to goodness food that wasn't secretly like---concrete in disguise!

So thusly, Koharu found an out of the way booth which to sit and eat her lunch along with her clockwork fairy that was hiding in her backpack, you could tell because occasionally, she'd stuff some food into the backpack.

Look, Koharu's cooking was weird. No one is surprised she's weird.

"I'm going to make another Tuna Casserole tonight and get it right!"

"Please don't." pleads the backpack, quietly.

Yuuto Shiraishi has posed:
Ever since they had seen each other in the library, Yuuto had been seeking the other two Steam Sentinels he had come across. Carrying his tray in his hands, he's looking around, ready to find a place to sit and have lunch when suddenly, his watch buzzes at him. "What is it, Tinker?" he asks quietly.

"Over to your right. She look familiar?" A glance over towards Koharu and his eyes widen. "Good catch!" he offers to his own clockwork fairy as he redirects himself, heading over to where Koharu is dining.

A brief smile is offered. "Hey." he greets. "I'm Shirashi Yuuto, Grade 8. Only because my parents held me back. Mind if I join you?"

There are plenty of other open tables, why would he want to join her?

Koharu Itamae has posed:
Koharu Itamae has to shut her mouth talking to her backpack when a new face plops down at the table. "Oh! Hello, I'm Koharu Itamae, also Grade 8!" she says as she takes a bite out of her food and... feeds the backpack.

"Oh, do you wanna try a cupcake!?" she asks as she removes a cupcake from the backpack. She accidentally drops it, and with a thunk, like a rock hit the table, it hits, unscathed as she picks it back up.

"OOPS! It's fine though, Anyways, here!" she says, offering it over.

The backpack groans, Dabble sticking his head out finally. Because maybe Dabble senses something else! or Someone else!

Yuuto Shiraishi has posed:
The cupcake hits the table like a lead weight. Yuuto swears he can see cracks in the table from where it hit. But he accepts it anyway, bless his heart, as he sets it on the tray. "What type of cupcake is it?" he starts to ask, before he clears his throat a little.

"So. Ah. You were in the library a couple of weeks back, right?" he asks, probing the thoughts as he starts with his main course. Clearly Koharu gave him a dessert! That can wait. "Whole thing where that one guy spilt a whole lot of ramen?"

Tinker /groans/. Really? This is his angle? He can chat up a mermaid princess, but this is causing a problem?

Koharu Itamae has posed:
That cupcake is so dense it's non-edible.

The girl 'ehs'? and leans forward with narrowed eyes. "Maybe. You mean. Craft. That guys name is Craft." she says "-and he's a big problem." the redhead says as she leans forward. Dabble also groans. Because she's not supposed to be so .. open... about this.

"So who are you?" she asks. "Because I don't remember much, except I was in the library to get a cookbook and before I knew it , I punched a thing so hard it exploded into fire."

Yuuto Shiraishi has posed:
It /is/ her. Yuuto suddenly grabs Koharu's hands. "Oh my gosh, I'm glad I found you!" he offers suddenly, and hopefully she notices the analog watch in it's steampunk inspired sheath on his wrist.

"I was the really fast one that you rescued." he admits quietly.

Well, it's out. From his messenger bag, a chunky little fairy in a set of overalls and holding a wrench climbs out. "I'm Tinker." he says, eyeing Koharu. "And you're a lot better to look at than him." he says with a snort. And then he looks towards the backpack. "You getting shy in there?"

Koharu Itamae has posed:
Koharu Itamae has her hand grasped and she bates her breath. Is this..is this a confession!? Someone looking on from afar? Someone who sees her for cooking from the heart!? No.. no... this is. Something else and she suddenly 'PHAWS' from the held breath.

"OH." she goes. "Right, that happened." the ditzy girl says. "Hi. I guess. I am. Steam Sentinel Blaze." she says. Dabble comes out of the backpack finally and then flies towards Tinker. "Tinker! It's you! Did you find someone? I found someone." Dabble says, motioning to the girl with a similar watch.

Yuuto Shiraishi has posed:
Why was she holding her breath, was she expecting a confession. Oh. Oh no! "I'm sorry, Itamae-kun, I'm dating someone!" he suddenly admits, releasing the hand he had grabbed as he realized what that could have been translated as! All awkward, all at once!

"Steam Sentinel Propel." he offers in response to the greetings. "I haven't found the other one yet." comes the shake of his head. So he's not dating her, at least?

"Hey Dabble!" Tinker intercepts the other fairy in mid-air. "I did!" A gesture at Yuuto. "I know, you said it should optimally be a girl, but he's not bad! I saw Tik-Tok, but not since the library. You?" he asks, as he glances aside to the other fairy. "Awkward, aren't they?"

Koharu Itamae has posed:
Koharu Itamae shakes her head sympathetically. "No. No. I'm glad for that. Confessions are so awkward! Because most of the time they always come from boys or they taste my food and then strangely never talk to me again!" she says. Yes. Strangely.

"Propel. Neat. I'm glad you're okay. The third one was there yeah. We have to find her next" she says with wide eyes. "Apparently. I got the lead fairy."

Dabble nods matter of factly, and looks to Tinker. "You're fine. At least you found someone before me." he says. "Yes, Awkward." then whispers.

"Don't eat that cupcake. Unless you want him to see a dentist after." he whispers to Tinker.

Yuuto Shiraishi has posed:
"I mean you're cute and all..." Yuuto glances towards the cupcake and then back to the girl. "I don't know why, it looks really good!" he offers to her plainly as he turns his attention to the bigger issue that they have at the moment. "Yeah, I think she said her name was Fours?" comes his curious question.

And while they talk, he's eating, most of his meal is gone. Soon, pretty much all that will be left will be that cupcake. "That's fine." he says when Koharu mentions she got the lead fairy. "I'm not much of a leader. But why did it take you so long to show up?"

Tinker offers quietly to Dabble. "You haven't seen some of the things he eats in the name of 'training'." A shudder. "If anyone could handle it."

Koharu Itamae has posed:
Koharu Itamae sheepishly accepts the compliment with a blush, but then gets down to business. "It looks just fine!" nevermind tiny planets could orbit it with how dense it is. It's like rock. Can someone truly eat it. Maybe we'll find out.

"I dunno if I'm much of a leader. But uh. I didn't..." she says.

"Well I mean I'm not special. Don't you think this little guy could had found someone better?" she asks, looking down at her meal now.

Dabble says. "I found the perfect partner." he exclaims, proudly. But then looks down to Tinker and nods solemly to what he said quieter. He whispers back.

"Maybe he'll be able to eat it without breaking a sweat then!"

Yuuto Shiraishi has posed:
"I'm not anything special either, Koharu. But apparently Dabble...?" Yuuto glances at the other fairy to verify that identity, "...trusts that you're the right one." He says confidently. "And if he feels that way about you, then well, I'm going to trust him. But look at it this way. We can work together as a team, right? Because I'm pretty sure neither of this can do this alone."

And we're down to just the cupcake. Without any hesitation, he picks it up and takes a bite out of it. It turns out to be a small one, because he has to adjust it a couple of times to finally break off a piece to get it in his mouth. And there's a crunching sound, akin to cracking cement.

Grabbing the water, he immediately takes half of it into his mouth, trying to hydrate a chunk of cake that might be drier than the Mohave Dessert - which is what we shall call this confectionary disaster.

Finally, after almost the whole bottle of water.

Chew.
Chew.
Chew.

Swallow. One could hear it dropping like a bombshell onto a carrier deck.

Koharu Itamae has posed:
Koharu Itamae answers first. "Yeah that's Dabble." Dabble waves back. "I guess." she says softly. It's all she can say. "All I know is that everyone wants to hear me sing. But I'd rather cook my heart out." she says, looking up a little bit from her meal plate. Seeing Yuuto, about to eat the cupcake!?

Wait someone is actually gonna eat her food in front of her and not try to hide it or throw it into the trash can or pretend to eat it? She watches with a bated breath and--

Well he drinks a lot of water, but he chews it and swallows it and doesn't spit it out.

"Amazing! How was it!?" Koharu asks quickly, with wide eyes, going fro morose to bright eyed hopeful fast.

Yuuto Shiraishi has posed:
It takes a few tries before Yuuto finds his voice again. So. So dry. He swears, it's in his stomach, soaking all the moisture out of his body, /right now/. But, at the same time, there's a few blinks of his eyes. "...funfetti, right?" he asks curiously, a small cough that may involve some dust coming out. "I could taste the little candies."

He's not tilted over and died. And he seems to be doing well. "Oh... my girlfriend sings too!" he admits suddenly. "She's really good at it. Her name's Coco."

Koharu Itamae has posed:
Koharu Itamae is smiling! "Yes! I didn't use a cake mix, I made it from scratch. I hope you liked it!" she says. She ignores any dust coughing. Yuuto ate a cupcake she made and didn't barf it up into the trash can! Amazing!

BEST FRIEND.

"Yeah I mean. Singing is okay. But. It isn't my passion." she wilts a little visibly as if something is eating her about this but then looks up.

"What do YOU like to do, Yuuto-kun?" she asks.

Yuuto Shiraishi has posed:
"My parents want me to go into business. I don't want to do that." Yuuto admits, notably having not taken another bite yet - why? Because his water is /gone/, and he's not ready to try to go after that cupcake without a full bottle.

"I run cross country track - but really -- I like to sculpt. I make these..." he opens up his bag, and reaching within, he takes out a small case. Setting it on the table, he opens it and starts setting down little figurines of warriors and wizards and monsters, all made out of stone or clay. "I make bigger ones too, but this is what I enjoy."

Koharu Itamae has posed:
"Oh that sucks. Are they really adamant about it, too?" she asks. 'too'? Koharu doesn't seem to mind that the rest of the cupcake isn't eaten because Yuuto is still here talking to her and isn't running towards the door.

"Oh, I'm in Cooking Club, of course." she says, "Naturally.". She does eye the little figures as she carefully picks one up and examines them. "Oooohhh.." she says with wide eyes. "That's really rad." she says in her ditzy manner.

Then she puts it down carefully, not wanting to drop a clay figure. She then says.

"We need to find Fours then." she says with a nod. "Here..." she says, rattling off a phone number from her phone, giving Yuuto her phone number.

Yuuto Shiraishi has posed:
Yuuto didn't miss that word. "Yeah. You too, huh?" It's a silent partnership there - the parents pushing them at something they don't want club. As she examines the figures, he grins. "Of course you are, you're chasing your dreams, that's cool!"

And he's also silently wondering if he could make a figurine out of what's left of that cupcake.

Collecting the figures, he arches a brow. "Fours? I swore I heard Force. But I was being strangled by noodles at the time, so I really can't give an opinion on it." he admits with a smirk. And she gives her number, and he's providing his in return. "Whichever one of us comes across her first, contact the other... and look. If you find yourself in a spot of trouble... or need a math tutor, contact me?"

Koharu Itamae has posed:
Koharu Itame seems to give a lopsided smile at Yuuto. "Alright. Yeah if you run into her first, lemme know. Otherwise, I'll be looking out." she says as she looks down at Dabble. "Alright Dabble you know the drill."

"Yeah yeah, back into the bag." he says with a sigh as he walks into the backpack again to hide. Koharu giggles at this.

"I should get back to class, Yuuto, but we should meet again soon, even if we can't find... Fourse?" she says.

"I'm sure we'll find her!" she says with a smile as she gets up with her tray and backpack. And she's off!
