Cast of Characters: Double Trouble, Hinoiri Kirara

Double Trouble has posed:
Double Trouble had a problem, and her name was Hinoiri Kirara. The problem was that they loved her too much. All they wanted for her was happiness. But that was a problem because her happiness was in the light, and their path kept pulling them deeper into the dark. They knew they'd have to make sacrifices when they chose this course of action, and it breaks their heart that this had to be one of them.

But it did have to be done.

Living with Hinoiri was a liability for them now. Operational security was almost impossible with her in the mix, and she was pretty helpless most of the time these days anyway. Besides, she found her happiness in the light, and all they are now is a bad influence. This had to happen.

For her own good.

That's why as soon as she left the dorm in the morning, Double Trouble moved at top speed and packed all of their stuff into a chest. It was a magical chest that all of their stuff fit into. It was pink, and when Hinoiri came home Dianora was sitting on top of it in her pinkest dress with her pinkest bow and the saddest expression on her face as she watched their girlfriend step into the room. Her feet dangled off and didn't even reach the floor.

She was going to say something witty. She had it all planned out, but when she went to open her mouth to say the words all that came out was a sob, and she started crying.

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara was feeling better. She'd been feeling a lot better, ever since the time loop. As of this morning? Only a handful of people knew. Double Trouble being amongst them. She was doing better though. She... had finally managed to accept that, maybe, all that happened back home wasn't her fault.

But that didn't mean she was 'all better'. She was still hurting, but it was the difference between walking on a broken leg, and having it properly tended to and healing. She wasn't good, but she was taking more steps on that path. And now? She... was ready to develop her other relationships. Grow. And on that note, she'd picked up a cute little keychain today. It was of a little unicorn, and she wanted to give it to Double Trouble...

Only to open the door and freeze. She looked at Dianora, taking a step forward. Then paused.

Where... was Dianora's stuff? The girl had more stuffed animals than build-a-bear. And they were gone. None of her stuff was here.

And that sad look on her face...

She looked and... was... it all gone? Then she looked at what Dianora was sitting on... she slowly closed the door and took a step forward.

"Dee? What... what's wrong? Why are you crying? What happened? Did someone take your things?" Just... a tiny bit of hope there. That it wasn't what it looked like...

Double Trouble has posed:
Dianora Lagorio was crying because she knew just how much of a suckerpunch this was. She knew just how badly this was going to hurt the girl She loved more than anything in this world or any other. But she knew she had to do it, and it broke her heart.

She answered Hinoiri's questions with several more sobs, and then an impatient look, "Onee-chan, hugs first, questions after!" She makes the cutest little tantrum kick and holds her arms out giving Hinoiri the most pleading look. This was going to suck for both of them, and Hinoiri might not want to hug after she answered questions, so Dianora wanted to get the hugs in first.

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara blinked a few times and, slowly, she relaxed. Just a little.

After all, if Dianora wanted hugs, well... she was sure it couldn't be THAT bad. She step0ped forward and reached out, wrapping her arms around her and pulling her in for a hug. "I understand. Listen, I'm sure whatever it is, we can work it out together. Is it someone at Obsidian giving you grief? I... I'm sure we can work it out. Or if there's something else... well... We're a team, remember?"

"There's nothing the two of us can't do together."

Double Trouble has posed:
Dianora's girlfriend had gone so far to the good side, she had let the light fill her heart with so much hope and faith in the goodness of others that she actually trusted Dianora. After an entire relationship where she was certain Dianora was going to stab her in the back, she had earned this absolute trust. And now she was going to rip that out from underneath her.

At least she wasn't on the dark energy any more. She was unlikely to set this dorm room on fire.

Dianora wrapped her arms around Hinoiri and buried her face in her girlfriend's neck. Just sobbing. The words all just made her cry harder until she took a couple ragged breaths and shifted at the same time as she slid down off the trunk. She didn't use the necklace much any more. Why should she? She was juicing the dark energy most of the time anyway.

The sobbing was replaced by a fragile laugh, barely audible. "Listen to you. Full sparkle now," they say, shaking their head as their tail wraps around her to give her a squeeze. "That's why this has to happen, darling. You know it's true." They squeeze her really tight, and then let go, darting around to stand by the end of the trunk.

Shifting back into Dianora, she said, "I'm leaving Radiant Heart and you. Maybe on the other side of all of this we find each other again, Onee-chan. But don't wait for me. You deserve happiness. You deserve better." Putting a hand on the trunk she started to drag it slowly toward the door. The magic made it easy, but she was a thespian.

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara trusted Dianora. Loved Dianora. Believed, of all people. And of all the people she knew... this was the person who had managed to claw and slide and snake their way into her heart. The person who had nested there. Who she had turned back to dark energy for, when even Charr's tortures hadn't done it...

And now... She was getting a 'Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, here's lookin' at you, kid'?!

She just... stared. Watched, looking numb, confused. Dianora was... walking away.

"... What?" she asked. "I don't... I don't understand. Why are you... where are you... what are you... what?"

She stared at the bag. then at the leaving girl.

"... You're... leaving me? You're..."

She didn't cry. She didn't scream. Didn't grab and stop her. She just...

Stared. Like a deer in the headlights. Watching her go. Unsure. Confused. As if everything just... exploded. And now she didn't know what to do. Or how to do it.

Double Trouble has posed:
In her head, Dianora was sobbing. She was screaming. She wanted Hinoiri to try and stop her from leaving. To do something. To not just stand there frozen. But she couldn't say any of that. She couldn't even let on. All she could do was slowly drag the trunk behind her until she got all the way to the door, resting her hand on the handle. That was a good place for a dramatic pause.

"I'm bad for you, Onee-chan, and we both know it," she said. "This is for your own good. You're not going to find your way in the light if you've got me here dragging you back down into the dark." She shook her head and laughed lightly. At so many steps she had nudged Hinoiri in ways that pushed her toward the light. Toward her happiness. Always her happiness. "And I can't get where I need to go if you're trying to pull me back either."

She pulled the door handle down and pulled the door open, just standing there for another moment, "You know I'm right. You'll be better off without me."

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara stared, opening her mouth, trying to say something, but nothing came out. What could she say? What was she SUPPOSED to say?

"I don't... I can't... I..." she tried, then stopped.

Finally... "N-no?" she tried, blinking a few times.

Struggling with the words. "Don't... I get a say in this? A lot of things are bad for me. But I..." She reached out, finally dashing forward and just... grabbing her hand. "N-no. No. I refuse. I... I need you... you help keep me balanced. Keep my head on. You make me feel... wanted. You make me feel loved. Like I matter. You can't... you can't just leav, now. You can't abandon me like... like... is... is this a test? A trap? A-are you... are you scared I don't love you enough? Is that what this is? I'm not going to explode, but... but... why?! Why would you do this NOW?!"

Double Trouble has posed:
Hinoiri finally did something. She fought to try and keep Dianora. It wasn't going to change anything, but it mattered that she tried. She gave her girl's hand one last squeeze and then let go. "You don't get a say. I'm breaking up with you, Onee-chan."

Then she let out a light laugh. "As for the timing? It's simple, you just finished an act-ending journey of personal growth. You can handle this now," she explained. "My next act doesn't have you in it, Onee-chan. It can't. I have to walk this path alone."

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara opened her mouth, then closed it, then opened it. As Dee pulled away, she just... Grabbed her hand again, then... let her go. Slowly falling to her knees and... she couldn't make her stay. She knew that. It was... another sign of growth... "Breaking... up with me? That... that's not... because now I can HANDLE it?! I grow and... and my reward is... is that... is that you BREAK UP with me?! That's a TERRIBLE journey end! You never even found out the drama! T-that... that I had kind of hotwired some magic together! I-I have a lot of drama! I-I know, I know who Ladybug's identity is! I-I know... I s-saw Riventon almost blow up all of space and time! I-I stood in front of Father Obsidian! I... I... I..."

"... I don't... want you to go..." she said softly.

Double Trouble has posed:
Dianora Lagorio shook her head and clucked her tongue. "This is not the end of your journey," she said softly. She wanted to reach out and hug Hinoiri, to console her, to make the hurt all go away. But she knew if she did anything but walk away, she wouldn't be able to do it at all.

"But, this is the end of our journey together," she said, an absolute finality to her words. "Goodbye, Onee-chan" Then she turned and stepped the rest of the way out the door, the trunk moving behind her with ease as she made her dramatic exit down the hall, duskporting away before she even got to the stairs.

Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara knelt there for a few seconds, there... there had to be something she could do.

Anything.

There had to. It couldn't... end like this. Not like this. Please. Please not like this.

Her heart was tearing and... and there had to be SOMETHING.

Maybe.... appeal to her drama and...

She raced to the door, throwing it open and running out. "D-Dee, what if--"

... But... but Dianora was gone. Hinoiri took a step forward, a hand reaching out as if she could grab the... after embers of them disappearing.

...

Hinoiri watched and... slowly... she just... walked after them.

Even if they weren't there anymore. They just... closed the door behind themselves, and walked. She had her phone and her keys. The door locked. And...

... And she... didn't have... anything else... now... She just needed... to... not...
