Cast of Characters: Hinoiri Kirara

There was work to do, Hinoiri knew that, but like… all work, no play, that was an old saying, right? Hinoiri knew that. And she couldn’t help wanting to check out the arcade when she’d passed by it on her search of the city. What kind of weird future games did they have in the, well, future?

It likely helped just a smidge that human’s tech was already so much different from pony’s. So when she’d walked in, she’d called out, nobody was there. However, there was one game she’d managed to get to work. And it wasn’t like getting tokens was hard. A fighter based on Sailor Moon, the queen and many of their enemies. She’d aced the ones at the crown across who knew how many time loops, how hard could this be?

… Very.

But oh my GOSH it was amazing. She found herself lost in it, the joystick in hand as she kicked, punched, blasted and moon tiared through the screens, racking up points and a big grin forming on her face as she came closer and closer to the boss, almost there, just a little further. Trying different characters and getting the feel and--

METAL ZOMBIE ANDROID AGHHHHHH!

Cure Licorne made quick work of the threat, her heart pounding, the threat ‘neutralized’ through concussive purifying force (excessively)…

And, on the screen?

GAME OVER flashed in bright, red letters.

“… Oh. It. Is. On,” she said, eyes narrowing.

It was one thing to lose because she’d messed up. But outside interference? HA. No. Bucking. Chance.

That was a lie. She was lying. She refused to lie regardless. She cracked her knuckles and got to work…

Unfortunately, there was a second zombie soon after… then a third… a fourth… a fifth…

Before long, there were a pile of metallic zombies, near to the roof, and Cure Licorne was bruised, her uniform torn and she looked exhausted…

But she was at the boss. And she. Would. Not. Lose.

Her hands were a blur as she tapped the buttons, moving along the joystick, dodge, weaving around as the boss unleashed attacks… And then she heard the grunts, the crunch of the monsters from behind. But she would not be stopped. Not again. She was in the zone. As it attacked, she spun, left elbow going back, into the monster’s face, as the right hand gripped the joystick, ducking to avoid a strike. Full spinning, she kicked the monster back, before landing back to face it, both hands coming down, gripping the controls, kick, kick, punch, upper cut, tiara, duck in real life, jump in-game, let go of controls, leap to the side, grab zombie’s hand, push it down on the controls to perform the moon tiara, then knee kick to the stomach, purify it, turn back to the console and moon rod action!

FINISHER!

Finally… After many, many trials… Cure La Licorne’s ultimate desire formed on the screen.

Victory.

High Score.

She put in the kanji for her name, before slowly pulling away, a small grin on her face… even as the console, once again went dark.

Oh she really wanted to go lay down for a minute...

... Also, she REALLY needed some sanitizer. Ew.
