Date of Scene: | 12 December 2023 |
Location: | Texts |
Synopsis: | Kazuo grudgingly checks in with Kyouka to see if his judgment of how they'll handle Soryuu Shrine (namely, "???") is correct or if he's missing anything. Kyouka thinks Kazuo is looking for much more general reassurance. At least this time the misunderstandings spiral into jokes instead of a pair of hissing cats? |
Cast of Characters: | Kazuo Saitou, Kyouka Inai |
- (PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts to Kyouka Inai:
Just checking. Do you actually see a successful path through this thing?
- (PHONE) Kyouka Inai texts to Kazuo Saitou:
there's only two options: either there is, or we die. i'm not prepared to accept my death as inevitable (at least not so soon), so for lack of another alternative, success is the only possible outcome
- (PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts to Kyouka Inai:
Agreed, and never in dispute. Just checking to see if you had a clearer view than I did. I can run on trust, but I like knowing whether I need to.
- (PHONE) Kyouka Inai texts to Kazuo Saitou:
Sleep well because of trust, sustain on pure gd stubbornness. they cant kill you if you refuse to die.
- (PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts to Kyouka Inai:
Like your theory.
- (PHONE) Kyouka Inai texts to Kazuo Saitou:
we'll get him out. i know you don't understand why i'm so invested but i promise you its not a trick
- (PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts to Kyouka Inai:
He gets people invested. It's what he does.
- (PHONE) Kyouka Inai texts to Kazuo Saitou:
just so. i'll be counting on you to watch his back. we also have at least one apocalypse to stop. possibly two.
- (PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts to Kyouka Inai:
Only two? Presumably you're counting MTP and "some say the world will end in demonic malicious fire" as one. Then there's climate change, nanotech, AI, and zoonosis combined with home gene editing. Which new baskets of fun do we need to plan for?
- (PHONE) Kyouka Inai texts to Kazuo Saitou:
So don't spread this around because there's no need to cause undue panic, but it turns out there's potentially some kind of spiritual throne of the dead under Soryuu Shrine and if anyone touches it like, at all, it could cause calamity of the 'everyone dead' scale - (PHONE) Kyouka Inai texts to Kazuo Saitou:
my source was concerned that all the dark energy and such which is likely to be thrown around could result in unfortunate intersection with this particular spiritual relic - (PHONE) Kyouka Inai texts to Kazuo Saitou:
its very much a /possibility/ though, not a certainty. just need to keep our eyes open. if any portals to Yomi open we need to close them immediately to prevent any over-ambitious spirits getting handsy with godhood in a fatal-to-mortals kind of way - (PHONE) Kyouka Inai texts to Kazuo Saitou:
Moon knows and is putting Mars on ofuda-duty
- (PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts to Kyouka Inai:
That would presumably be why he was "don't mess with this shrine" - (PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts to Kyouka Inai:
I'll add "keep Mars from falling over" to the priority list
- (PHONE) Kyouka Inai texts to Kazuo Saitou:
i think he's concerned for Himeko-chan, i'm not sure he even knows about this. but its related regardless
- (PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts to Kyouka Inai:
Possibly not in specifics but I imagine he has at least the shape of an idea
- (PHONE) Kyouka Inai texts to Kazuo Saitou:
The shrine isn't the target anyway, we just need them to think it is. the important people have been warned, and hopefully we can direct events such that the threat does not materialize.
- (PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts to Kyouka Inai:
If only to spare you the burden of being guidance counselor to every teenager who died in the area in the last thousand years. The fishing village kids would be wildly outnumbered but desperately confused.
- (PHONE) Kyouka Inai texts to Kazuo Saitou:
dont worry, p sure my employment with the school does not extend beyond death. at least i hope not. maybe i should have read the fine print more carefully. im always getting into trouble that way
- (PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts to Kyouka Inai:
fine print would be more easily read if it were in invisible ink
- (PHONE) Kyouka Inai texts to Kazuo Saitou:
anyway i appreciate your concern but dont worry about me. im not. just keep your eyes open and your focus on the goal. it'll work out.
- (PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts to Kyouka Inai:
Of course. How else would we see the path when it shows itself?
- (PHONE) Kyouka Inai texts to Kazuo Saitou:
atta boy.
- (PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts to Kyouka Inai:
Not a werewolf, don't make me bite you.
- (PHONE) Kyouka Inai texts to Kazuo Saitou:
welcome to try, it'll be educational :)
- (PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts to Kyouka Inai:
I suppose getting nicotine tar taste locked in for days is educational, in an "I learned never to do that again" way
- (PHONE) Kyouka Inai texts to Kazuo Saitou:
if you dont like my vices dont enable them
- (PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts to Kyouka Inai:
do you even have any virtues I could enable
- (PHONE) Kyouka Inai texts to Kazuo Saitou:
i'm really hard to get rid of. does that count?
- (PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts to Kyouka Inai:
is that even enableable? - (PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts to Kyouka Inai:
let us both pretend I never typed that word
- (PHONE) Kyouka Inai texts to Kazuo Saitou:
sure its enableable, dont plot my death and youre helping
- (PHONE) Kazuo Saitou texts to Kyouka Inai:
oh good, I can enable your virtues and practice fighting my vices at the same time
- (PHONE) Kyouka Inai texts to Kazuo Saitou:
har har
