Stop in the Name of the Moon
Date of Scene: 17 June 2025
Location: Juuban Ward
Synopsis: New Moon and Mamoru are just hanging out when they spot Sailor Moon (Sarek Edition) and Snow Angel Mou Fubuki in the distance! A silly youma fight - and a not so silly verbal spat - ensue.
Cast of Characters: Usagi Tsukino, Veronica Perenna, Laisa Samuiko, Mamoru Chiba
Tinyplot: Black Moon Clan
Tinyplot2: BMC: Wicked Ride

Usagi Tsukino has posed:
It's night time - not the afternoon, but proper night, with the half-moon high over the sky and the lights of Tokyo keeping things bright. New Moon would usually be with her Lady, but she's taken a moment to step out, get some treats, and just -

Look.

It's not that she wants anything more than her lady - how could she? But looking at the Moon, half full and beautiful as it is, a semi-circle of light, and knowing that she'll be up there, getting married soon, that first will come marriage and a few years down the line her Lady, how can she not be -

Emotional.

So she's just sitting there, on a rooftop, looking at the Moon, and casually, the other buildings, the occasional flight heading towards the airport, the distant lights. A teenager with shoulder-length pink hair and a black dress, her straw hat no longer able to protect her eyes from the bright lights now that they come from below instead of from the sun above.

And then, in the distance -

"Ugh, which one of my 'friends' is that," she mutters, as she recognizes the distant motion as someone on the rooftops, moving way too fast to be a civilian. She leans in, squinting to see...

Veronica Perenna has posed:
Not many worrying things happen that don't usually gets solved shortly after they have been identified. Luckily enough, they are quite good at solving most problems right away, and so the ebb and flow of their life goes on as usual, balancing school and magical matters with mostly remarkable efficiency.

Exception to this has been Usagi's disappearance. Ever since they came back from the future, nothing they did could change that, and worse still, they know where Chibiusa is. Corrupted and occasionally causing problems, but at least they know she is safe.

To at least make it look to their enemies like things are normal, Veronica has shared with others she is occasionally going to patrol as Sailor Moon and fight as her. If they are out too and stumble upon someone who might be her, ask "how is the cat?" If the reply is "she is feeling blue", then that's Veronica.

In front of the window, the brunette stares up at the moonlit sky. Sounds like a good time to chase pesky shadows. A flash of moonlight, and the Princess of Sarek takes Veronica's place, and at the count of three and a snap of fingers, Sailor Moon takes hers, and then the Pretty Guardian who wears a sailor suit and fights for Love and Justice leaps out of the window, jumping from rooftop to rooftop in search of a youma.

Laisa Samuiko has posed:
When Laisa heard of Veronica's plan to pose as Sailor Moon, she was in support of it. Of course, such disguises sometimes require code words, and this isn't the first time the subject has come up between them, so Laisa makes sure to remember the latest pass phrase.

Mou Fubuki herself isn't really on patrol so much as she is around. She's in henshin, so as to not being harassed about curfew at this time of night, sitting at the top of a tall building that lets her survey the area.

She has a snowcone in her hand that she's enjoying while watching. Blue flavored. Yes, she knows it's actually named like... 'blueberry punch' or something, but let's be honest: it's blue flavored.

"Oh..." she mutters to herself. "Blue cat. Right. That makes sense."

Mamoru Chiba has posed:
As New Moon's asking her muttered question of the universe, there's a soft swell of Mamoru's power behind her, and by the time the Prince speaks up, he's no longer prince but Wicked Mask with a glittery black outline of a crescent moon upside down on his forehead. He has chocolate. "Whoever it is, they're playing the game." A beat.

... "OMG you should make a youma and see how they fight it. I mean there are ways to find out, but everyone needs a workout sometimes, right? Besides, she's looking for a fight, right?" Maybe he's been around the dark energy too much.

Usagi Tsukino has posed:
Honestly, it's fortunate that the Black Moon on his forehead isn't made of chocolate, with how little care he sometimes puts into making it. New Moon bumps her shoulder against Mamoru, not aggressively but with a bit of fondness, and then she nods. "Well, of course they're in on the game, but still -"

A beat.

"Oh! Yes! That's a great idea! If I make the youma and send it after them, they can't come and interrupt us!"

An absolutely great idea!!!!

New Moon stretches out her hand - and some junk that someone left on the rooftop, probably from an air conditioning maintenance appointment, takes on new life as Dark Energy floods into it. The junk rattles and roils and then stands tall and lean, in the shape of -

"I am Technollama! Here to cause some drama!"

Yeah, it's a llama made of junk parts - metal casings, broken plastic, leftover screws and the like.

Veronica Perenna has posed:
Veronica has little idea about any sort of game Mamoru might be speaking about, and she would certainly be ready to correct him about the fight if she knew and the two of them were in any other circumstance. And more importantly, New Moon weren't overseeing the situation.

As it is though, when she feels the dark energy infuse itself into the object left behind, she turns around with a blink of her eyes. There was nothing in that direction, why there is now?

Oh, her. That simplifies things, right. The disguised Sailor thief was looking for trouble and trouble found her instead. Right, time to give give a good justice speech, even more important when they are against Black Moon.

"This is a quiet night where people sleep placid dreams. None of them would want to think about drama, much less have more of it from the day to the night. I am the Pretty Soldier who fights for Love and Justice, I am Sailor Moon! Cease right now, or in the name of the Moon, I will punish you!", Veronica crosses her arms, striking her pose, the moon right behind her.

Sadly for the moonlit thief, she hasn't been able to see her beloved eating the ice cream, interrupted just a few chimneys away from New Moon's dark energy.

Laisa Samuiko has posed:
Mou Fubuki squints as a youma appears on a distant rooftop. She keeps eating her snowcone for a moment or two as her cold blue eyes scan the area. May as well hang back and see what's up before rushing in. It's then that she notices two people hanging out, though it's hard to tell from this distance if they are involved in this nonsense.

She takes a look down at her snowcone. It's half done. Well, she could always buy another, she supposes. Then again, leaving it here is rude. Mou stands up and starts skating across the roof top, holding the blue snowcone in her hands, hopping from roof to roof and leaving a melting trail of ice behind her. Mou's been doing this long enough that she can eat and rooftop skate at the same time.

It does, however, mean that she'll be showing up to the fight with blue lips.

As she gets close to the battleground, she dips down to street level for a bit to toss the remains into a trashcan, before jumping back to the rooftop. Landing next to Sailor Noom, and being none the wiser, she gives the youma a deadpan stare. "Snow Angel Mou Fubuki. What she said. You need to chill."

It's a good thing Snow Angels don't get brain freeze.

Mamoru Chiba has posed:
"Oh, dinner and a youma but the youma fights someone else?" Wicked Mask teases New Moon, then spfffts when she makes Technollama; he covers his mouth with his yukata sleeve, literally laughing into it for a moment before he can get himself under control. Once under control, he finishes his chocolate and licks his fingers.

"Nice justice speech," he comments, finally, watching Sailor Noom do the posturing and the dramatic poses. "They're pretty good. I can't tell yet. But one of them I WOULD be able to tell and it's not him, so it's either Mina or Sarek." The boy considers, and then Laisa shows up, and Mamoru grins. "If it's Sarek then that's her girlfriend and this could get really cute."

Pink-tipped hair and glasses and black rose-painted yukata and all, Wicked Mask cups his hands around his mouth and calls out, "How is the cat?"

Usagi Tsukino has posed:
"Obviously! Everyone deserves to feel our pain, don't you know?" But she's got a teasing grin on her face, and the silly youma she's created isn't very powerful - it's just enough to give -

"Oh my gosh! Is that me? Is that how I sound?" She's whispering, as she hears the speech. "Oh it's cute!"

She's not upset by the idea at all, and in fact she's kicking her heels now!

"Whoa, whoa little mama, let's turn down the heat! I haven't done nothing to deserve a yet!"

Aside from the fact that the technollama is rhyming, it's really being honest about that! It hasn't done anything yet!

"Just because I'm a youma, you out here thinking I'm prowling like a puma?! You know what I could call that?"

The llama rears back improbably on two legs, like Kuzco from the Emperor's New Groove, using it's metal hooves to point at them. Behind both girls, pipes lift from the walls - and they're blasted with water. "Smart. I would call it smart."

Meanwhile, New Moon considers the girls from afar...

"Sailor Moon! You won't stop me! I serve Wicked Lady, and she's the best there ever was!"

Veronica Perenna has posed:
If Veronica had been aware about Mou Fubuki being around, she probably would have texted her first, since she can be herself in messages. What could have happened, that New Moon stopped right behind her to look over her shoulder at what she is typing? Of course not.

Play it cool, Veronica, she reminds herself, trying not to give a smile too wide at her girlfriend's appearance. Still, a smile is appropriate, right? Even in the off-chance Usagi and Laisa didn't fight together much, the latter is still an ally appearing at her side.

"Mou Fubuki, how are you?", she asks, only briefly turning her gaze away from New Moon, Wicked Mask and her youma. Mask being at her side is unexpected, but if it's anything like the time she was Sonata Cheer, she can expect the youma to do all the work.

Mask asking the question however gets him a blank stare. She is not really inclined to get it right when there is an unknown villain right next to him. "The cat? Which one?", she replies instead, and she gives a look to Mou Fubuki. She has to give her another kind of signal now.

"Mou Fubuki, do you think that youma eat flowers? There are Spider Lilies and Scillas not too far from her, and it would be reproaching if a precious keepsake were eaten", she improvises, giving the llama a glare. "We got the weird youma today." Hopefully that would do it.

But there is also New Moon talking like she is being imitated, and Veronica puts on her best frown. "This is how I sound. Where do you fit into it? And of course Chibiusa is nice. She is just having a moment."

She doesn't really want to add any other words to that, and following her pointed fingers, a beam of moonlight tries to strike the youma.

Laisa Samuiko has posed:
Mou Fubuki watches as Wicked Mask asks the question. Suddenly, she's looking over at the fake Sailor Moon. In truth, she was also curious, but didn't want to distract from the fact that there was a youma to fight. No matter who it is, it's probably an ally of justice right?

There's also just the fact that her heart is frozen while in henshin, but even with her romantic feelings turned completely off Veronica is still someone who matters.

Oh, that was the girlfriend signal. "Right, well, we have to watch out for the lilies, right?" she improvises. She feels dumb because she thinks she could've said something more clever. Then she gets over it because this is a fight and any failure to impress Veronica with wordplay can be made up for by being a good combat partner.

The llayouma is talking. Mou wishes it wasn't. While she's in the middle of considering how to best express her annoyance, she glances in Noom's direction. That's when she notices the water coming at them from behind. "Watch out!" she calls, raising her hand to freeze the water. She manages to actually protect Noom a lot better than herself, which is to say that the snow angel is now soaked from head to toe.

As water drips from her now soaked hair, Mou glares angrily at the ridiculous llama. "Really? Was that really necessary?"

A cold wind picks up as a pair of icey wings sprout from her back. Bits and pieces of ice form out of the air and start flying towards the Llayouma, shining thanks to the beam of moonlight.

Mamoru Chiba has posed:
"... huh. Guess she's Mina," Mamoru observes, then blinks at New Moon having a hell of a good time watching, all of a sudden, and then directly playing-- he's alarmed for exactly a third of a second before he laughs. He plops himself down next to New Moon and leeean-bumps her arm, murmuring, "You're much cuter, but yes, that's how Hematite fell in love at first fight."

Briefly, he considers the two magical girls across from them and the llama, and he squints at Mou Fubuki and Sailor Moon being cute, and he flinches at the nighttime firehose and flips his magical top hat out of nowhere and reaches in. He pulls out a bag of popcorn and sleight-of-hands the hat away again, then starts munching.

"Wicked Lady is cooler than everybody!" he calls across the way. "That's how you know it's her, just look for the coolest person around! Technollama, try harder! In service to Wicked Lady and New Moon!"

Usagi Tsukino has posed:
"It absolutely was, cause you girls are the Fuzz!" Technollama drops down to all fours and prances around, laughing at the soaked mahoujin. "This is what happens when you - uh, walk around on roofs, I guess, I'm gonna be honest I'm running out of rhymes! Water Spout!"

And then the pipes blast out another pop of water at the girls, which may be avoided.

"Don't worry about it, Sailor Moon - you've got plenty to focus on with my ultracool and totally powerful Technollama! Without the Drama!"

New Moon has thrown herself into the act of being a Dark General, because finally they're playing the game! And it's normal! And cool!"

And then she looks down at Wicked Mask and winks, before whispering, "Don't ruin their fun!"

When he joins in, cheering on Technollama, she cheers and shakes him around, giggling. "Yes, like that!"

Veronica Perenna has posed:
Guess she is Mina? Was he really going to sell her just like that if she had answered right? What's the point of a passcode then if he is giving away the result to villains? "Mamochan, what are you going on about? Like you don't know that Mina is Venus", she gives him a dispassionate stare.

"Stop coddling Chibiusa, Mamochan. You are not really helping her by being like this", she frowns at him, but the water gives her pause.

To be honest, she feels herself cringe inside about using that name right in front of Laisa, and she really hopes the other girl would understand and not take it too badly. That's hard to tell with the Rime Rosary freezing her feelings, but hopefully she can make it up to her after this?

She has completely missed the jet of water though, and her angel is using herself as a shield, just to protect her. "Sorry, Mou Fubuki! Does it hurt a lot?", she winces at the water dousing the other girl.

New Moon is right, she has plenty to focus on with the youma still attacking, and she doesn't really care about its rhymes right now, and when a second water jet comes she throws herself in front of the snow angel, a wall of moonlight blossoming between her and the water. "I won't let you hurt her again."

Laisa Samuiko has posed:
Mou Fubuki gives Wicked Mask a frown and a raised eyebrow. Well. No one can say he's not a supportive father. A part of her wants to judge him for being an enabler, but another part of her realizes that he may not really have a say in this anyways.

"Wait... the fuzz?" objects Mou Fubuki. "I'll have you know I'm totally rebellious and cool!" Because nothing says you're cool like needing to inform people that you're cool. Especially when you're soaked head to toe and don't want to be.

Her totally-not-girlfriend is asking if she's okay, and it's sweet of her, but Mou Fubuki isn't quite as considerate as Laisa usually is and she responds bluntly. "I'm wet and cold!" Gritting her teeth, she adds, "I can live with it. Focus on the fight!"

Does it bother her that she's using another girl's petname? Hard to tell, really. It's all part of the act, and Mou knows where Veronica's heart lies. Whether or not Laisa even cares is something she'll have to figure out when she can feel again.

Now her beloved is protecting her this time, and Mou actually smiles at her before skating away from the offensive pipes. "Thanks, Sailor Moon!" Granted, with Noom on the defense, Mou needs to be on the attack, so she skates towards the Technollama while a giant hammer of ice forms in her hands. "You're running out of rhymes, and running out of time. I think we've both had enough of your crimes!"

As she gets close, she swings the giant ice hammer down at the llama, and the frosty weapon shatters the first time it impacts something.

Mamoru Chiba has posed:
"Don't call me Mamochan, I'm Wicked Mask!" Mamoru calls, jostled by New Moon and grinning down at her again, and then he looks back up at Sailor Noom and Mou Fubuki and throws a piece of popcorn ineffectually in their direction. "And my daughter is the best, it's not coddling to tell everyone so-- and this--" he blinks. "Hurt? It's not even... it's just a burst pipe, Sailor Moon! She'll be fine! And if either of you manages to get hurt tonight, don't worry, I'll fix it. Just fight the llama," he calls encouragingly. "Just play. As long as you're playing, nothing worse is happening, right?"

Then Mou Fubuki goes after the llama! YAY! and Mamoru puts his bag of popcorn briefly under his arm to applaud. "Oh good rhyming, Mou Fubuki!"

Usagi Tsukino has posed:
"If a bit of cold water on a summer night is all it takes to hurt you girls, you won't last long against Wicked Lady!"

New Moon hops to her feet - and then, into the air, seating herself in the air as though she had a fancy chair, casting a dismissive glance at the two heroes and her poor monster, just as water splatters the Moonlight shield, doing nothing to soak the two girls. That's actually neat - she wishes she COULD do that!

"You're wrong, Sailor Moon! Wicked Lady deserves all the coddling in the world - every bit of spoiling that any child or woman could want! It's what she desires and deserves! Just like Technollama desires to - DODGE!"

It's a sudden shout as New Moon realizes belatedly what's coming to her youma -

And it's too late. The great ice hammer slams directly into Technollama's sides and shatters, sending shards of ice cutting scores in the metal, along with a great dent that craters the right hindquarters, causing the youma to limp about at reduced speed.

"You little brat, that hurt! Well, actually it didn't, New Moon didn't give me nerves -"

"You're made of metal! That's a lot of effort!"

"But still! I can hardly even do THIS now!" This needs no explanation - the scrap llama rears back awkwardly and slams its hooves to the ground, causing the metal casings on its body to fly free towards Mou Fubuki and Sailor Noom.

"And just so you know, that IS for rhyming at me!"

Veronica Perenna has posed:
"Fine then, Mask-chan, but you aren't helping our daughter by leaving her corrupted. We could have helped her together. I am sure she would have appreciated both of us coming to rescue her! Do you think she will enjoy being freed of the dark energy after having it for so long?"

She looks at New Moon. "I don't see why that matters. Are you looking for a new family? Is it because your clan is in tatters? Find your own, don't settle for an anomaly."

But they are being urged to enjoy the moment, really, and underneath Veronica is actually content to oblige with that, considering how her girlfriend is giving the youma a taste of its own medicine in all sort of ways.

"If it is not for us to rhyme, then you should figure out a better dime. How about you keep your grime?", she quips back to the Technollama, kicking the scrap of metal back to sender.

"Don't worry, Mou Fubuki, you are quite cool here. You can trust me on that, ok?", she brightens up towards the angel of snow.

Laisa Samuiko has posed:
"Buddy, you aren't even in henshin!" calls out Mou Fubuki to Mamoru. "No one's fooled by the eye liner on your forehead. You don't even have a mask!"

Of course, she doesn't really have time to keep giving him guff. Silly youma are still threatening and now Laisa is having stuff thrown at her. Even if it's just metal casings. The first one hits her and bounces off of her head and she holds the impact point with both hands. Ow!

"Alright that's enough. You're not playing nice! You're acting so tough, but I'll put you on ice!"

She thrusts both hands forward, towards Technollama, as snow and ice gathers and swirls around her. Her icy wings spread wide and glow, rooting her in place but letting her channel more of her curse. "Snow Heart Solstice!" she shouts, before launching a swirling mass of brutal ice and purifying snow at the llayouma.

While rubbing her head, Sailor Noom calls her cool. Mou Fubuki smirks and snorts, then smiles at Noom. "Thanks, Sailor Moon! You can always chill with me."

Laisa absolutely refuses to wink, even if she kinda wants to.

Mamoru Chiba has posed:
Wicked Mask visibly shivers like someone just walked over his grave when Sailor Noom calls him 'Mask-chan'. He looks wide-eyed to New Moon, quick and disbelieving, then looks back out at Sailor Noom. "Don't taunt people about families," he tells her, "especially not people I choose to be with, if you please. You're not the only one playing a role!" He's not mad, but the popcorn's not in his hands anymore.

Thankfully, then Laisa gives him grief-- and he breaks out laughing, and he laughs all the way through the rhyming death of Technollama, though it calms down to basically helpless snickering. "No, I'm definitely Wicked Mask, the mask is invisible. It's part of my soul now, didn't you see that king?"

He comes to stand behind New Moon and lets a hand settle warm on her shoulder, skin to skin. Bright, warm, amused. Tired. The grounding earth. "I'm going to do my laundry," he says, "if you're staying here." Otherwise, take me with you, always--

Usagi Tsukino has posed:
The youma being terribly damaged doesn't bother New Moon - it was made to lose, after all, it's part of the game. What does bother her is when Sailor Who Calls Herself Moon suggests that they aren't helping their daughter.

It doesn't matter that they're playing a Game, that this Sailor Who Calls Herself Moon cannot know the truth - what matters is that she said that, and New Moon is angry.

"Don't overstep, Sailor Moon," she says sharply, "Wicked Lady is my family, and I will not let anyone insult or deride her. Her parents are exactly where they need to be!"

Things might have gotten a lot worse, then, if not for the fact that Snow Angel Mou Fubuki launched her finisher. Technollama had been limping from the first strike, and the metal that Sailor Noom kicked back did further damage, denting plating, but the brutal mass of swirling ice and purifying snow is enough to rend it to pieces - junk pieces.

In the end, there's a pile of very wet, very clean, junk on the ground, metal scraps and screws and plastic bits of things.

In the end, New Moon grips Wicked Mask's hand and though she is sick and tired, though she is furious and upset, he is grounding and amused and not offended, and he is going to do laundry, and Wicked Lady might just be in the ball pit, lurking amidst the brightly colored moat, and -

"Just because you beat my youma, doesn't mean it's over. I'll be back, Sailor Moon and Mou Fubuki, and you won't be ready!"

And with that suitably dramatic statement, she and Wicked Mask are gone, in a swirl of darkness.

Neither she, nor Wicked Mask, nor even Sailor Moon and Mou Fubuki, have noticed that there's someone watching, in the distance. The man has hair as white as Mou Fubuki's conjured snow, and violet eyes. The black crescent moon is stark on his forehead, his face expressionless. His eyes are fixed on Sailor Moon.

Veronica Perenna has posed:
Veronica doesn't quite understand what Tuxedo is mad about. It Is clear he wasn't merely hanging around New Moon, but he held affection for her. Why is that? Who is New Moon to him? Why be with her when he could be looking for Usagi? Or if something stopped him there, at least be with Wicked Lady, his own (alternative future) daughter?

"Her parents are exactly where they need to be?", Veronica repeats back to New Moon. "Then please share that with us, where would that be? You definitely know something you aren't sharing. You can't get mad at me for something you are hiding from people", she shrugs at that exchange.

That feeling of wrongness and puzzlement only gets strengthened when the two of them just decide to dip over it. They are being so weird, both of them. Especially Mamoru, willing to share her identity with Black Moon, if Veronica hadn't changed the signal on them at the last second.

She doesn't know about the man watching them, but she knows better than changing back in the open. With the method only her and Laisa know, a silver doorway soon opens, and "Sailor Moon" starts stepping through. Right now, her girlfriend matters more than people choosing to be mysterious.

"Do you want to come with me, Mou Fubuki? I guess we have things to talk about", she extends her hand towards the snow angel.

Laisa Samuiko has posed:
Laisa glances behind her when 'Sailor Moon' opens the portal. Technically anyone who knows the code can do so, so it's not a tell or a giveaway, but she does at least think about it.

She also doesn't notice the creeper watching them. Yet somehow she gets a really bad feeling that she doesn't like.

"Yeah, sure. We can talk," she says, walking up to Noom and taking her hand. She passes through the portal, and takes one last look behind her before going further into Sarek.

There are a lot of things that aren't adding up to her, but she suspects that things will be cleared up in time. Probably.
