From the musical pitch of miracles, let a new song be born, shimmering like the story that leads all life toward paradise. To sever the wheel of strife, take hold of your wishes, even those worn thin, even those left aching and forgotten. Remember... Those who have turned from love... Those who have defiled the sea... Even if they walk their own path, they were born from that same love, cradled by that same mother. One day, when the scars of the heart have healed, we'll all be returning to the same sea. So take the heart within you, the one that has become immersed in truth, and let it become one with the seven-pitched melody. That melody, that transparent arrow connecting beyond the Seven Seas, is nothing less than the feeling of a mother's love.

Unknown to humanity, the sea harbors life much richer than simply animals and plants. Secluded kingdoms thrive in hard to reach corners of the oceans, home to sea fairies, mermaids and other sapient beings of the deep.

Of these realms, seven of the greatest lie within the Seven Oceans themselves, taking their names from the waters they rule. Their rulers and protectors are the Mermaid Princesses: blessed envoys of Aqua Regina, and the living alter egos of the Seven Pearls created by the sea goddess.

While the Mermaid Princesses are devoted first to the defense of their kingdoms, they care just as much about the lives on the surface world, and despite hiding from humanity, both the sea and land benefit from their protection.

For most of the history of the oceans, the Mermaid Princesses have been accompanied by the Panthalassa Clan, a fully humanoid sister race to the mermaids, in the protection of the Earth, as entrusted to the two races by the Ancients.

However, ever since a major conflict divided the Panthalassa into two factions, those among them who still adhered to peace chose to migrate to the surface, mixing with humanity, while the warmongers were sealed away by Aqua Regina.

Should the descendants of the Panthalassa reawaken to their calling, their legacy and magic would return to them, restoring the musical gifts once used to defend both land and sea.

Mermaid Princesses

Every mermaid possesses the ability to communicate with sea creatures and often relies on them to communicate across vast distances. Their aquatic nature also offers them resistance to frigid cold in their true form, allowing them to suffer no discomfort even when swimming in icy waters. This does not extend to magically induced cold.

For the purpose of interacting and defending the human world, all mermaids can transform into a human form as they wish, to move freely between sea and land. But contact with water on their shell locket or pearl can temporarily dispel their human transformation, reverting them to mermaid form. Transforming back into a mermaid can instead happen at will, and presents no limitations.

For this and other reasons, the laws of the mermaid kingdoms prohibit their princesses contact with the human world, and they are only allowed to interact with the surface for the sake of fighting back against great danger.

With some exceptions, a Mermaid Princess’s singing voice is drawn from her Pearl, and they are unable to maintain it should they lose the sacred jewel.

The Seven Pearls are potent artifacts: sources of immense power that can be coveted by others. Their true purpose, however, is to give birth to new Princesses whenever the previous one disappears, and to serve as the focus of the Princesses’ magic.

In their rightful hands, they transform into E-Pitch Microphones, amplifying the princesses’ voices and allowing them to assume their Idol Forms: radiant transformations that reflect each princess’s personal style with which they fight against evil.

The songs channeled through these Pearls are expressions of the integrity of the princesses' hearts, enabling them to purify the darkness in people's hearts, dispel curses, hurt evil, and heal emotional and physical wounds. When they sing, their power manifests as a radiant sphere of light known as the Live Stage, a protective space that can even allow levitation and shelter from environmental harm.

Each Mermaid Princess also possesses unique, personalized powers that reflect her oceanic domain, personality, and the song within her heart.

Through Aqua Regina’s blessing, the Mermaid Princesses can achieve a higher transformation: the Super Idol Form. Activated by the bracelets on their wrists while already in Idol Form, this state enhances their voices and unlocks their most powerful songs, capable of uniting hearts across land and sea.
