1188/Good Morning, Jin

Good Morning, Jin
Date of Scene:	26 February 2024
Location:	Dorms #1
Synopsis:	Comes on the morning after scene 1179/Overlord Diaries: Futures. Kano and Mamoru check on Jin and make sure he is recovering after the healing from the night before.

Kano Watanabe has posed:
    Kano was left on Jin-watching duty. He has periodically checked on Jin while doing homework all night (he went back to his dorm to get it so he had something to do), and now it's morning. He has borrowed Jin's half of the super-wide desk under the windows, since that's the one that isn't covered in all of Natsu's crap. Even now, as the sun comes through the (now closed) blinds a little bit (also he put the stage light away, because it was a hazard to leave out in the middle of the floor), he is writing and reading. He's young. Staying up all night is totally doable.
    And he needs to get his mind off of everything that happened the day before.

Jin Kishimura has posed:
    Jin slept comfortably, the first time in a long while. Even when he first arrived and found out that he was Natsu's roommate, the dark-skinned teen was worried. Yes Jin has grown, he does have more confidence in himself, but last night didn't showcase that, fear, among other things rose up. Something happened to him, traumatic even though with help, things didn't worse for him.

Waking up, shifting in his bed and slowly now sitting. Jin yawns and stretches, bleary eyed and a loud rumble escapes from him, he rubs his stomach. Getting up out of his bed, his shirt felt grimey so he stands up from and takes off his shirt. Jin is in damn good shape for a teenager. He doesn't look towards his desk, he's alone and he's used to it, he begins to walk to the bathroom. From where Kano is sitting, he will see Jin walk to the bathroom and there are scars along his full back. He isn't moving fast at all, just normal speed for the most part.

Kano Watanabe has posed:
    The other white-haired teenager, aside from giving a look towards Jin, doesn't address him. No need to rush things. Jin will talk when he's ready. Give him some time to shower, wake up, and get some food in him, and then they'll discuss what happened last night. Kano has been thinking of how much to reveal, what to confirm or deny, and what story to tell. But first is to find out what Jin even remembers. If he doesn't remember anything, then...
    Kano misses the scars on Jin's back initially. He only glances over to be certain that Jin makes it to the bathroom safely. Scars are cool, so he'll compliment Jin on them later too.
    Back to trigonometry.

Jin Kishimura has posed:
    Jin is in the bathroom for a while, the shower can be heard. Stripping down, and stepping into the shower was like majorly needed. Jin didn't know what happened last night, he will have to apologize to Kano for missing out on Gamestation. He remembers they were supposed to play and hangout, but then he didn't feel well and went to bed. Making sure every part is clean, and his hair is washed.

Stepping out of the shower, he dries off and wraps a towel about his waist and proceeds to do his hair and brush his teeth, all in all he's in there for an hour. He walks out and now wide awake, he jumps when he sees Kano in here, "HEY!!!!!" he quickly covers his mouth, "Why're you in my room....oh yeah I invited you up last night, sorry I fell asleep I wasn't feeling well." he says as he looks to his best friend. He smiles, his golden eyes alight with mirth and joy. He walks over to his drawer and takes out boxers and shorts and a t-shirt. "Gimmie a sec." he says as he moves back into the bathroom. He changes, 'Why did he stay in my room, I hope he didn't sleep in my bed.' he thinks shaking his head, 'Nah that's not Kano, he's a ladies man.' he laughs loudly and he comes out. He stretches a bit, "Sorry about last night." he apologizes and bows his head. There is a look of worry on his face as he looks to Kano.

Kano Watanabe has posed:
    Kano grins at Jin when his buddy emerges. "Yeah, you looked exhausted. Better for you to get sleep. Gaming can happen any time, right? Natsu still isn't back. I hope he didn't get trapped out there in the storm last night..." Kano's voice trails off as his dark blue eyes turn to the window, and the thin shafts of sunlight gradually grow brighter as the rain starts to ease up.

Jin Kishimura has posed:
    Jin sits on his bed and he chuckles, "Well I'm awake now, and knowing Natsu he's probably looking for some new villan manga." he laughs. "I still don't konw why you two like them so much." he says with a shrug. "So how've you been?" he asks. There is no trace of him knowing what happened last night at all. Jin rubs the back of his head a little bit. Jin jumps up, "You hungry?" he asks as walks over to the fridge and grabs milk and cornflaked, he gets two bowls and begins making them breakfast.

Mamoru Chiba has posed:
There's a knock at the door! Perhaps it's Natsu!

It's not Natsu.

It's an absurdly tall version of a kid Jin used to know in the orphanage, who disappeared from there over two and a half years ago. Mamoru Chiba! He was significantly shorter the last time Jin saw him. He's in the standard (questionably aesthetic) Radiant Heart Academy uniform, though his shirt's untucked and his tie is loose, and his glasses don't hide his blue eyes-- they've got that anti-reflective coating or whatever it is.

"Hi," he says cheerfully, even if he looks tired, a little worn down. "Came by to see how Mr. Headache was doing~"

Kano Watanabe has posed:
    "Sure," Kano starts to reply. "I could definitely use something to eat. I didn't want to go foraging without at least one conscious person here to give permi--" Knock knock. Oh, good, hopefully Natsu is back.
    It's not Natsu
    It's Champion Hero, the Savior of Jinland.
    "Oh, cool! Glad to see you again! Yeah, he seems to be doing okay, but--" he turns around. "--doesn't seem to remember much from last night. I don't want to speak for him in regard to how he feels or any symptoms, but I've not noticed anything myself."
    "Hey, Jin! Mind if someone comes in to talk to you? He was there last night when you passed the fuck out!" he calls over, heedless of the hour, or anyone else sleeping. It's fine, they're probably sound proofed, it's okay.

Jin Kishimura has posed:
    Jin is making two large bowls of cornflakes, he seems to be happy and well Mamoru would know he also liked cornflakes at the orpanage. "Sure, umm...I will need to go stock up, later though. I might be able to make one more bowl if he's hungry." he says as he is putting some raisins in his own bowl of cereal. Jin, moves easily enough that both Kano and Mamoru would notice, if there was something that happened last night, it doesn't seem to be effecting him. "Hey Kano, I'm sorry again, that was rude of me to invite you over and I just crashed like that. Won't happen again." he says. Once he pours the milk in the bowls, there are three bowls of ceral ready for consumpiton.

Jin will turn around not seeing who it is for a moment then as Mamoru comes in, he blinks a second. It's like he's stunned, he winces just slightly. "Oh hey, you got adopted!" he exclaims. "That's awesome, I didn't know where you went, I figured you might though you kept saying you wouldn't." he laughs a little and starts to walk over to his bed and sit down. "Please come in."

Mamoru Chiba has posed:
"Oh, no, I didn't," Mamoru says a little awkwardly, with a strangely stiff little laugh and a glance toward Kano. "It's a messy story, maybe I'll tell you someday. I'm safe now, though, the school's handling my legal stuff."

Then a smile. "Thanks," he tells Kano at the invitation inside, and he slips in past Kano and closes the door behind him.

The rooms are totally not soundproofed, but it's also morning and people should be up, in Mamoru's opinion.

"Yeah, you passed out, you don't remember anything? You had a bad headache. Nobody wanted to take you to the school nurse for some reason, but I know some stuff about pressure points, so they asked me to help out...glad I was nearby, you looked terrible."

Kano Watanabe has posed:
    Unless someone's name is 'Natsu' or 'Jin', Kano isn't the type to rush to comfort someone or try to change the subject for the sake of another. It's not a lack of care, it's just... You know? Not his business. Family is personal. If this guy wants to talk about it, he'll talk about it. If he doesn't, then Kano should mind his own, the same way he'd want others to. So he doesn't do somethign dark and edgy like go, 'I can't wait to be an orphan myself... Hopefully he'll be gone any day now...' or something because holy shit that is so cringe and tone deaf.
    But he might have, a few years ago.
    "Sorry, I don't remember I introduced myself. I'm Kano Watanabe. Natsu Oukanno is Jin's room mate, but he's not back yet, so I stayed to make sure Jin slept okay and also make sure that nobody, like, broke in after seeing me bring my GameStation, thinking that maybe I left it behind for some reason." He fingerguns at Mamoru with a very serious expression. "You know how it is. Some people will take anything that's not nailed down."
    'And some people will take the nails!' is the second part of that, which Natsu usually says.
    But nobody says it.
    Kano is fairly chill, but he's worrying now. Natsu is dealing with a lot. He should know he can get help from his best friends, right?
    He lowers his hand and looks awkwardly at the bowl of cereal made for him as he prepares to eat it. With a spoon. And not his hands. Even if he totally would have if he didn't have a spoon.

Jin Kishimura has posed:
    Jin looks to Mamoru, his eyes widen quickly. "Crap sorry I forgot...." he frowns, "My memories aren't what they used to be." he says. He looks to Kano, "I trust Kano, we've been friends since we were little before...." he stammers and almost like stops talking. He rubs the back of his head. When Mamoru says to him what happened last night, "No, I had a little headache and fell asleep." he says as he looks to Mamoru, "I already feel bad for Kano, we were going to play some Gamestation, I've been out of the loop on some games." he smiles.

Jin seems alright except for that pause, he is back to himself. Jin looks to Kano, "Smile it won't kill you." he shake shis head. Listening to Kano about people stealing. Jin knows all about that, or they gang up on you and there was always one who was the leader and they hold you down......'Stop it!' he yells in his own head. His eyes narrow slightly and he lets out a calming voice. "You're safe, you're safe." he nearly whispers to himself. "Please eat with us, there is a small bowl, I need to hit the caffeteria up later." he laughs. Jin looks to Kano first making sure he's ok, then to Mamoru. "You dont have to talk about it, it's alright, I slipped up, it's just been awhile." he says.

Mamoru Chiba has posed:
"Mamoru Chiba," the healer says to Kano, bowing slightly. "Good to meet you with a little less urgency. And yeah-- I question the openability of these windows."

Then he smiles and holds up his hands to Jin. "Don't trouble yourself! Everything is fine, don't worry. And-- I'm honestly just stopping by, I have to meet with one of my teachers before homeroom. But thank you for offering!" he says about first the awkwardness and then the offer of breakfast.

Mamoru starts to turn, and then pauses uncertainly. "One of your friends invited me to play Gamestation with you guys when you were feeling better, and I wasn't thinking clearly, I didn't give a real answer," he says, then glances toward Kano. "I didn't catch her name. But I wanted to ask if I could bring my girlfriend -- she's the gamer, not me."

Kano Watanabe has posed:
    Kano stares blankly at Mamoru. "...? Why would you be worried about the 'openability of the windows'?" What do windows have to do with anything? Does Mamoru spend a lot of time hanging around outside windows or something? Is he some kind of cat burglar!? S-sorry, Jin. I didn't know when I invited him in that he was like that...!
    Oh, he has a girlfriend? Hm. Well, if she's a fellow gamer than she must be reasonable. And if she's dating this guy, then he must be fine...
    "Natsumi. Natsu's sister. She had come to visit, there was a bit of an accident that had clothes in the wash, and she borrowed some of her brother's clothes over the mistaken assumption she had to stop me from... Getting clothes... At the girls' dorms. For some reason." He just shakes his head. "Girls, man. So weird." Sigh. "Anyway, not up to me, but if Jin says it's okay, then you can bring your girlfriend, I'm sure. Natsumi's brother can't really answer because he left to get her clothes dry-cleaned and hasn't come back yet... And she hasn't come back since last night when she left with that Amy chick. So... I'm hoping she stayed with her."
    The frown and furrowed brow and concern in his voice says perhaps he cares a lot more about the status of Natsu's sister than he is letting on.
    Then he shrugs and says, "But at least Jin's okay. Which I have you to thank for. Thanks again, man." He looks over at Jin. "It's okay. Was just worried about you, falling asleep like that. He knows first aid or something, I think, because when you wouldn't wake up, he made sure you were okay. Looks like you just really needed the sleep."
    Kano feels so slimey lying to Jin. But he can't... He can't just be like, 'magic is real', and this guy has good magic, and Natsu is using bad magic, and I used bad magic for a little bit but I realized it was dangerous and now I want to use good magic, but Natsu is still using bad magic, and also he's his sister now, who didn't exist before.'
    Like.
    You know?

Jin Kishimura has posed:
    Jin shakes his head to Mamoru, he points to the bowl on the table he vacated, "EAT!" he says. Looking to Mamoru, Jin smiles and takes another bite of food and he levels his gaze on Kano. He points to the bowl he gave him, 'Breakfast is important!' Looking to Mamoru as he speaks about being invited and Jin nods his head, "Oh you got a girlfriend, is she nice, is he cute?" he asks with a grin.

    Looking over to Kano as he hears his best friend, Kano and Natsu said they were all best friends, that's awesome. He now remembers it. When Kano speaks about Natsumi, Natsu's sister he smiles. "Yeah you have a girlfriend, you can't touch her, that's not cool." he grins. "Natsu would try to beat up anyone who was trying to get with his sister." he laughs. Listening to Kano as he continues to speak, he watches his friend, and he grins as he looks at him. He then quirks a brow up, "I didn't wake up?" he asks. "I am a heavy sleeper, but as you can see I'm good." he smiles. "But thanks for looking out for me, thank you both." he bows his head to them.

Mamoru Chiba has posed:
"...it's way too easy to open the windows from outside. I worried about my stuff," Mamoru tells Kano matter-of-factly. It's only a fraction of a lie. He worried about it when it got flooded. "So I don't really leave anything valuable in my room." The best lies are the ones that are close to the truth.

"Ahh, I see." Apparently Natsumi made the invite but it's Jin or Natsu who has veto power. That's above Mamoru's pay grade! If they really want him to come they'll figure it out and let him know.

"Anyway if you have any questions, Watanabe-san, I'm literally just down the other end of the hall, way that way," the blue-eyed and bespectacled black-haired youth says with a vague gesture in the direction of his room, "This floor, the fifth room from the stairwell..."

He shakes his head firmly at Jin. "I appreciate the offer, but I have to talk to my teacher before homeroom. I'll pick up breakfast at the cafeteria on the way." And then he smiles a little crookedly. "I wouldn't. No threats necessary. My girlfriend is impossibly beautiful and strong and funny and cute, and all I can do is try every day to be worthy of her. She and my boyfriend are both very protective, so you'd better not make any moves on me either."

Then the boy laughs. "Now that I've devastated you both, I'm out. I'll see you around school."
