Jin Kishimura has been a ward of the state for several years since the accidental deaths of his parents. Being pulled out of school and taken away from his home, he was raised in an orphanage until he was old enough to choose a school to attend. As a highschooler, he has received an invitation to join Radiant Heart Academy and accepted, with all tuition paid. Aside from the upheaval of his life that nearly got him lost in the system, Jin is under the impression that he and his life have been mundane, and "normal", for a given definition of normal.
Much of his life around the time he lost his parents is a blank space, with occasional snippets of memory, which he has been assured is most likely due to trauma. However, the erasure is so complete he can't even remember if he had any siblings, and it radically altered his personality from outgoing and confident to a shy introvert. He has recently learned through a confidential source that his parents' demise may not have been an accident after all. The confidence he got back from the friends he made at the orphanage, and the skills he learned to defend himself, are coming back into play as he works to learn all he can and become as valuable an asset as he can, so that he can better infiltrate the mega-corporation Obsidian and find out the truth.
