Kind of a Haruka Plan
Date of Scene: 09 July 2024
Location: Juuban Ward
Synopsis: Following Mamoru's kidnapping, Haruka catches up with her princess. Reassurances are shared, food is offered, and bad ideas are gently discouraged.
Cast of Characters: Usagi Tsukino, Haruka Tenoh

Usagi Tsukino has posed:
A text to all the Senshi and Shitennou from Usagi Tsukino: One of Beryl's youma kidnapped Mamoru from his dorm room. I'm reaching out to like, everyone? Everyone, just to see if maybe... but be on alert. If I hear anything, I'm going after him.

Haruka Tenoh has posed:
Haruka Tenoh is lazing about in jeans and a t-shirt in her shared house when she gets the text from Usagi. She pulls her phone out casually, and reads it, and all of her next moves are substantially less casual. She's texting with one thumb while swapping clothes and grabbing keys.

TEXT to Usagi: "Where are you at right now" - she doesn't have time for the punctuation. "I'm on my way" she adds, before Usagi responds and before Haruka is even entirely knows where she's going. She's got to figure it's near school, if Mamoru got pulled out of his dorm room - or that side of town - or at least she'll be on her way somewhere because there is zero chance of her sitting still and waiting right now.

Usagi Tsukino has posed:
It takes a little while for Usagi to respond, but when she does, it's a text with the address of a drycleaner's that's not too far from campus, just a couple of bus stops away.

TEXT to Haruka: Im here. I was dropping off some of Mamochans things to get saved.
TEXT to Haruka: ill wait here for you.

The text is absent the usual energy and smileys, but that's hardly surprising, given the moment. When Haruka arrives, she'll find Usagi waiting outside a very nice drycleaner's shop with a long receipt, reviewing it over and over. She's wearing her school uniform, and she looks as drained and sad as can be.

Haruka Tenoh has posed:
Haruka weaves through traffic to get there faster than someone legally should (assuming that someone was even legally allowed to be on a motorbike, of course) gets off the bike and takes off her helmet. She walks over and takes a moment, searching for the words to say. Eventually, she just settles on the obvious.

"This sucks." she says, knowing she's stating the obvious. "But we're gonna get him back from her, we did it before and we can do it again." she says, firmly. "And this time she wont have had her claws in him for nearly as long."

Usagi Tsukino has posed:
"It really does," Usagi says, and she's scrubbing at an eye with equal parts frustration and sorrow. "I know. Everyone's giving me chin up speeches, and I really do appreciate it. Because we are going to get him. And it's going to be okay. But it sucks right now, and he's not here, and she's not here, and even my guy in Obsidian says that he's not there, so I don't know where he is..."

She hates it. She hates it so much.

She presses her hands to her face, tips her head back, and looks to the sky after a long moment.

"Ami-chan's been tracking Metallia's energy. Every time she does something everytime she makes a move, we're getting a little closer to tracking her."

Haruka Tenoh has posed:
Haruka shakes her head softly. "I'm sure everybody is trying to make you feel better, but. I also know it's impossible to make it feel okay." she says. "And it's not okay. It shouldn't feel okay, and nobody's words are going to make it okay. Things won't be okay till he's back. Till she's gone because she can't leave our planet or your guy alone." she says, balling up her hand into a fist.

"When you find her, you know I'll be there with you." Haruka says. "Maybe Ami-chan can work with Michiru-san. Sometimes her mirror can help find things that are hidden." she offers. Really, she doesn't know but she wants to help, she wants to do more.

"I'm sorry all I have for you is words now and a fist at your side later." she says. "I can't imagine how I would feel if it was Michi..." she admits. "But I... I can't do nothing, either. I'd even offer to stay with you and guard you - because attacking the school is pretty nuts, even for her - but I think your roomate somewhat took that job when she drew the sword on the Moon."

Usagi Tsukino has posed:
"You're here," Usagi says, quietly, "That's enough for now. And when everything goes down - when it's time to get him back, to put her down for good, you'll be there again."

A long breath, indrawn and held. "It's not okay. I'm kind of losing it, but I think I lost it so much I'm switched around to being calm again, because my fiancé's gone, and I can't do anything but be ready."

She really, really hates it. And as to the suggestion that Michiru could help...

"When Ami-chan's program is done, that'll be a good idea. I don't know how like, close the Metallidar will get us to her, but maybe once we know where to look, the mirror will get us the rest of the way?" Who knows. Her brain can't quite comprehend it.

Haruka Tenoh has posed:
Haruka kind of shrugs at Usagi's suggestion. "I don't know, I only know how engines and suspensions and things like that work. I'm just sure she'd want to help if she could in any way." she says. "You know all of us have your back, when it gets down to it. I hope."

"I can only imagine you're feeling a lot like me, just... much more, much louder. Because I want to do something, right now, I want to go and change things, and make things right, and I'm just... I don't know what I can do, if anything. Not till the other girls find out where he is or he shows back up or something. And I want to help, like... really badly." she says. "I dunno, I wish I'd brought my car, then I could at least help you get back." The car is, however, not as fast as the bike is when it comes to making your way through afternoon Tokyo.

"Can I like, get you and Osaka-san Korma for dinner or something at least? Or... I don't know, pick up a cake from somewhere you like?" she asks. "I feel helpless right now and I don't like it." she admits, crossing her arms.

Usagi Tsukino has posed:
"Korma would be good," Usagi says, merciful. "And it's okay, I was going to go on a patrol. I know I'm not, I probably won't find anything, but I can't just go home, you know? I was doing homework when he got... I'm not going back to that."

Because she's not going to do homework again for a while! Whoever gets mad about it can bite her! Not literally!

"This is all just so... I hate it. I hate it so much. I know, I get it, this is what happens when we're us, but -"

She's not going to say, 'can't someone else have these problems' because she doesn't want to wish ill on anyone, but she's this close to thinking it.

Haruka Tenoh has posed:
Haruka looks back at her bike, then at Usagi. Then she says she's going to patrol. "Well, I was gonna offer to take you by the Korma myself - assuming you're not too scared to ride on the back of the bike - but if you're gonna patrol I guess that's kind of not an issue." she says, tapping her foot a bit.

"Do you think you should be roaming around the city alone, though?" she says, after a moment. "I dunno... it's just... okay obviously we're all worried about Mamoru-san being stuck with Evil Karen again, but you're kind of a target too. Not to be too much of a downer. It's just kind of part of our jobs." she says.

"If she sent one of her youma to grab him right out of his dorm room and then poof'd off from even the people you know in Obsidian, I'm not sure she wouldn't go right for Sailor Moon, too."

Usagi Tsukino has posed:
"I've never ridden on a motorcycle," she hums a little, because no, she's not afraid of it, but..."

A shrug.

"I could ask someone to go with me, and they probably would," she admits, easily, openly. "Daifuku-chan, or Ami-chan, or Mako-chan, even Rei-chan or Minako-chan would probably come if I called. But I don't really want to... wait. And I don't know if she'd want to come after me. Not like that, anyway, and Mamochan, they know him. They don't know me."

A long pause.

"And if they come after me, I get to find out about Mamochan," which is not a good plan.

Haruka Tenoh has posed:
Haruka furrows her brow. "Get kidnapped to find your missing lover is kind of a Haruka Plan. You know, so not a good one." she says. And she's only partway teasing herself. She's serious about it not being a good plan.

"I'm sure a ton of people would come with you. I would." she says pointing a finger at her own chest. "But as bad as this is I don't want to have to explain to Mamoru-kun that you got hurt while he was kidnapped, because you were mad-sad about him being kidnapped." she says. She's not very good at being a voice of reason but she's trying! For Usagi!

"...At the very least, if you do go off to patrol alone, could you call someone before you get in any actual fights?" she asks.

Usagi Tsukino has posed:
"Not really a plan, but you know, an option," Usagi half-teases, because she does know it's a bad place, and she knows Mamoru wouldn't like it, but he definitely doesn't like what's happening to him now, so...

"Do you want to? Patrol with me, at least... on the way to Korma?" She'll compromise, a little, because she knows her friends - her guardians - have to be worried about her as much as they are about Mamoru, and being stupid isn't a great idea. "And if I'm on patrol any other time... I'll make sure to let someone know when I'm in fights. I'll even drop my location."

Haruka Tenoh has posed:
Haruka nods emphatically. "We should totally patrol our way to the Korma." It would probably not be the first time Usagi has patrolled in the direction of the Korma intentionally.

"It's weird. Telling someone else to be careful." Haruka admits after a moment. "But I'm fond of you. You know? You're kind of important to all of us. To Mamoru-kun. To the world. So I have to." she says. "Even if it goes against a lot of my own actions."

"It's a little selfish, but there is only one Usagi, only one Princess Serenity, and a lot of us need you." she says as she looks back to her bike. "It can wait here if you'd rather walk. Or we can patrol really, really fast. I do have an extra helmet."

Usagi Tsukino has posed:
A quirk of the lips, a reluctant half-smile. "Let's patrol really, really fast then."

It's weird to have Haruka being the one urging the brakes, cooling things down, calling for a halt before she wrecks herself... is this how Mamochan feels, with Zoisite always urging him to not be reckless, to not be wild?

"...thanks. For worrying about me, and being fond of me too. There's nothing wrong with being selfish, you know? I'm selfish all the time."

Haruka Tenoh has posed:
Haruka smiles as she tosses a helmet to Usagi. "Yeah, but it's so stereotypical. The selfish princess. We're princesses, sure, but we're soldier-princesses." she says as she does so.

"I have to... play against expectations. It's kind of one of my things." She puts on her own helmet and swings her leg over the middle of the bike. "You're gonna want to hold on." she warns Usagi.
