Cast of Characters: Mamoru Chiba, Setsuna Meiou

Mamoru Chiba has posed:
It's after school, it's quiet, there are no loud people unless Entrapta comes back and even if she did it's okay, because Entrapta doesn't expect answers back a lot of the time. Or at least that's the impression Mamoru gets, with how rapidfire her questions can be.

It's quiet, and Mamoru's doing his homework here instead of at home because he is hoping to catch Entrapta one more time before she finishes moving out of the Shed.

Mamoru's mostly in his school uniform, except that his blazer's ver the back of his chair and his leather jacket's on instead. It doesn't help the orange shirt at all, but at least it's not blue. His glasses are clean and his hair is almost always fluffy, but today his fancy dress shoes are indigo, which really doesn't go with orange. Really really.

Otherwise, the Shed is the Shed, not tremendously large right now, still home to a few of Entrapta's things.

Setsuna Meiou has posed:
Given that it's after school hours, Setsuna is technically off the clock...which is made evident by the fact that she's left her labcoat on the hanger back in the infirmary.

Despite the fact that it's barely above freezing outside, she's dressed in a black pencil skirt and a longsleeved light blue button-down blouse as well as the three inch heels that she's somehow able to walk across unpaved earth in without issue. Her only concession to the weather is an unbuttoned lightweight black jacket sporting a patch on the left side consisting of a red circle with a white triangular-ish symbol inside. Around the edge is a black ring with the legend: 'U.N. SPACEY SPACE PROVING WING'.

As she enters, she glances about to see who all is here if anyone, and seeing Mamoru, she smiles, "Ah, Mamoru-san. Good to see you. Getting some study time in?"

After a few moments spent fiddling with the door to make sure it's shut properly and not letting any heat out, she walks in and surveys the room as if looking for something.

Mamoru Chiba has posed:
"Setsuna-san!" Mamoru says in pleased surprise, looking up and shutting his notebook -- not his tablet, that's what's got the textbook open on it. He stands up and gives her a cursory bow, smiling. "Yeah -- things have been pretty busy. I wanted to talk to you about Chibiusa-chan, but I haven't been sure what to say--"

He trails off, then glances around. "Are you looking for something? Entrapta's moved most of her stuff out, I... don't know where she's going."

Setsuna Meiou has posed:
Setsuna blinks over at Mamoru when he mentions Chibiusa, "Mamoru-san, you know you can come see me anytime. And you're welcome to visit my house as well if it's after school hours."

She then smirks, "AND you have my phone number."

She gives him a bit of a LOOK for a moment before raising her hand to cover a giggle, "Sorry. I couldn't resist. I imagine it's been a lot of one thing after another and by the time you have a moment, three more things pop up."

She shakes her head, "Trust me, I know the feeling."

A moment later, she shakes her head, "No, I wasn't looking for her...but not because I don't trust her per se...more that I don't trust her to take this thing apart before some of our other technical people have had a chance to look examine it BEFORE we resort to deconstructive examination."

After a moment, she realizes that Mamoru might be confused about her talking about...well...nothing.

She looks mildly sheepish for a moment, then she does some twisting of her hands that any mahou worth their salt will likely recognize as her fiddling with a dimensional pocket, whereupon she produces a large case that she sets on the table and undoes the latches so that she can open it up to reveal the latest model of heartstealer rifle.

Mamoru Chiba has posed:
"Yeah," Mamoru says sheepishly of their schedules. He doesn't hang his head, but he does have that look on his face like 'there is no excuse for me actually, aheh'. "I mean they're trying to kill her in the middle of all these other things they're doing now..."

He sighs, but shakes his own head-- and then gets more and more forehead-creased as he looks for the antecedent of 'it' and keeps buffering what Setsuna's saying, until Setsuna has her realization.

And then he almost expects another laptop from her dimensional pocket, and has gone from bemusement to active amusement-- until the case is open.

He knows exactly what that is, and comes over to look, eyes wide. "Holy shit," he says, looking back up at Setsuna. "We've been trying to get our hands on one of these-- you've been trying-- since like, the fall of 2023? For definitely over a year. Kyouka-san was trying to weasel information out of me about these when I was Hematite, but... I didn't have much. How did you get this?"

Setsuna Meiou has posed:
Setsuna snorts, "Funny story. So one of the Witches..."

She trails off for a few moments and looks visibly confused for a few moments before shrugging, "...you know, I don't know how many of them are actually left. Anyway, it was the one with the shockingly orange hair."

She gestures to the rifle, "So Haruka had a race yesterday and Chrono, Amy-chan, and Bow-san and myself were all there to watch it. Orange shows up in disguise, flirts with Haruka...who from what she told me later apparently thought was a guy...then she yanks off disguise, and sicked a youma she seriously named 'Ti-Yah' on Haruka."

She shakes her head for a moment, then waves her hand at the case and goes on, "So of course the rest of us slip out, henshin, then dogpile her. Between the five of us, we managed to take down her youma fairly handily even if it split into two partway through, at which point Orange hoofs it from an utterly incensed Uranus. I faked an attack at her to distract her enough for Uranus to catch up...there was a little struggle as she tried to get free, then Uranus yanked the case out of her hands just before she could port away."

Mamoru Chiba has posed:
"Oh. Mimete," says Mamoru, face squinching up. "She was a pain in the neck when I was hanging out with Riventon when he was with Tomoe. Sounds like she only got dumber."

He listens to the rest, though, and puts his hand over his mouth, eyes wide and bright with merriment. "Oh man," he says as he takes his mouth away, "she's gonna get in huge trouble for losing one of those guns. Huge enough trouble she might not make it to another fight..."

He glances at the window, then reaches to touch the weapon gingerly. He whisks his hand away. "Yeah. She's desperate. So if she does show up again, she's probably going to try something even dumber. Unfortunately I have no idea what."

He grins at Setsuna then, though. "That's a fantastic story. And this is a fantastic loot drop. I'll spread the word--" he starts, then slows down and chews on one side of his lower lip. "Would it be something to distract Rashmi? Is that even a good idea?"

Setsuna Meiou has posed:
Setsuna smirks and raises her eyebrows as she finds out the name of the Witch and hears Mamoru's estimation that the loss of this weapon might be enough that her own 'allies' do her in. An ending which then causes her to shake her head and let out a little snort, "Well...I can't say as I'd be particularly bothered if that was the case..."

She trails off, then taps her lips with a finger as she ponders for a moment, "...though between the way she reacted when Uranus was interrogating her and right after..."

Setsuna shrugs, "...I'm wondering if she might grab anything she can and pull a runner before they realize she lost it."

As Mamoru brings up Rashmi, however, Setsuna's expression falls and she heaves a big sigh, "...I don't have a great answer for that. She came by the other day and was really distraught..."

Reaching up, the greenhaired woman rubs her face with her hands for a few moments before continuing, "...she's taking it pretty hard. Part of me wants to tell her that magic is involved...and thus so are Miracles..."

She trails off for a moment, then shakes her head, "...but Miracles, sadly, are all too rare...or else they wouldn't be MIRACLES...and getting her hopes up would just be cruel."

Setsuna pauses and stares down at the rifle for a few moments before finally heaving a big sigh, "...I think the distraction might be good for her...but I'd say only if she's got someone helping her to keep her on a more even keel."

Mamoru Chiba has posed:
One corner of Mamoru's mouth is turned up, and he backs away from the gun to take a seat perched on the desk he'd been working on. Not on top of his tablet, of course. "If she did, I guess good for her. She's selfish and underhanded enough she might pull it off."

Then he sts forward a little bit, hands on his knees, and he listens. About Rashmi, about miracles, about hope and distractions...

"I'd be happy to keep her company if nobody else jumps on that. I'm good with physics and biology and higher maths but I'm no techie. Maybe Koji-kun? It'd get him out of his room and maybe make him stop moping."

Setsuna Meiou has posed:
Setsuna blinks and arches an eyebrow at Mamoru, "Well, I don't know about moping, but I DID tell Koji to get some rest to recover from the infection he'd apparently been palnning to tough through." She shakes her head, "...moping, however, I don't really know much about."

She gives a brief pause, then nods, "...though that said, I think you've probably got the right of it. They should cover each other fairly well."

Finally, she nods before swinging the case closed and setting it on a shelf, "He might take you asking better than I..."

There's another pause, then she blinks and quickly turns to head towards the door, "...sorry. But it's Six Fifty Eight and Thirty Nine seconds. Unless there was a delay, Haruka will be home somewhere in the next thirty minutes and if I don't get there first, she might take it upon herself to try to cook dinner."

Setsuna visibly shudders, "...and trust me...NOBODY wants that."

She gives one last wave, "Message me if you need anything else, Mamoru-san."

And with that, she's out the door and off to keep a minor disaster from befalling her household.
