| Synopsis: | Once again, Hawkmoth is just trying to get the Ladybug Miraculous. Once again, an akuma decides Amy's soul gem... is the miraculous. This time, though, said gem is actually stolen... though, thankfully, not for long, with Yukihime, Tsukiko, Tuxedo Mask, Cure La Licorne, and Geode Girl Loyalty on the case! |
| Cast of Characters: | Gabriel Agreste, Amanda Faust, Miho Inada, Ikiko Hisakata, Niji Dasshu, Hinoiri Kirara, Mamoru Chiba |
| Tinyplot: | Puella Factory |
- Gabriel Agreste has posed:
Tuesday was a clear, sunny day, with low wind and mild humidity, not quite so dry as to be uncomfortable, but not quite the ideal comfort zone, either. There had been snow at one point, and a great deal more of it in other areas of Japan, but now the city was enjoying a spate of mild days with mostly clear skies and low pollen counts.
Excellent weather to enjoy a walk or a bike ride, with the only fault most could reasonably point to being the early sunset, expected to hit around 5pm.
For a mahoujin, it's practically ideal weather for going on patrol.
For Hawkmoth, it's decidedly unideal weather for finding a subject to akumatize. He's just preparing to ring Mai and request that she ruin someone's day (or week, month, year, even, it wasn't as though he was going to put a limit on her cruelty), when he felt it - the pulse of misery strong enough to break the miasma of resentments, sorrows, and rampant negativity that generally swarmed Tokyo to his mind's eye. It was someone upset: more than upset, enraged, and spiteful, and he moved quickly:
"Fly, my little akuma, and evilize them!"
Within moments, the quiet patrol one Puella Red is one will be interrupted by the stinging lash of twine as silver string wraps about one of her arms with sudden, terrible force.
"I've got you now, Lady Bug!"
The holder of the twine is a kite-themed akuma, a man with a spandex-like suit of blue, red, and black, great wings expanding from his back, and a pattern of glowing red eyes formed by the broad wings. The twin comes from arms wrapped with the stuff, the akuma seemingly firing it off like Spider-Man to fasten, secure, and set sail once more - or, in this case, to yank a foe from the ground.
<<That is NOT Lady Bug!>>
- Amanda Faust has posed:
Darkness falls early.
You'd think after many years one would get used to it, but Earth's seasonal cycle seems to leave days getting shorter just when one is used to them long, and vice versa.
Well, it's late January, so actually, for the moment, Amy is used to it, timing her patrol just as the sky starts to darken enough that she won't be dramatically silhouetted atop roofs if someone happens to look up.
Patrols are exercise and mahou duty in one! Also, jumping from roof to roof with superhuman strength and precision is just fun. Amy remembers as a child leaping from boulder to boulder when such were used to border, say, a beach or campground somewhere, and this is ten times better, maybe more! She can take much riskier jumps, too, because on the rare occasion she beefs it, mahou toughness makes a missed jump generally not as bad as any attack she might take from a youma.
She's just focusing on positioning her feet right to land when OW, her arm hurts! And she does stick the landing, but that gives the akuma an extra split-second to react, grip, and YANK.
"YEOWW! Wait, what?! I'm not Ladybug! I'm red and white, not red and black! Lemme go!" She focuses her aim with her opposite palm and tries to explode the wires!
Which will leave her falling if she's freed, but 1. that's future Amy's problem and 2. future Amy is an experienced mahou who's been doing this for 2½ years, she's got multiple midair movement options!
- Gabriel Agreste has posed:
"Of course she's Lady Bug! She's got the red and black gem! And I'm getting it for you, just as I'm finally getting the wind I craved!"
The kite akuma is smug, satisfied, and wrong, but that fact hardly matters when he's captured the enemy -
<<That is not the Ladybug Miraculous. The Ladybug Miraculous is a pair of earrings!>>
For this to happen once was frustrating. For it to happen twice beggars belief, and Hawkmoth is irked, infuriated. What is the problem here, the men?! Groomacidal never gave him these problems! (She... gave him other potential problems... and he's never tried jilted brides again... but that's irrelevant!)
<<There's no point in taking that!>>
As Hawkmoth is lecturing the akuma, Amy manages to explode the strings hanging onto her, and she starts to fall - only for her to be caught again, this time both of her wrists wrapped in strong twine, yoinked back in such a way that all of her weight crashes down on her wrists.
"Boss, look, okay, so maybe this is not Ladybug - maybe - but it's still a magic gem! I can take it and get back to you lickety-split, with the power of WIND!"
Kaitou Kaito is not dissuaded by the groan of his sponsor. Instead he snaps the twin, jerking Amy in the air, and releasing her - the last of the twin enveloped around one wrist taking with it her red-and-black soul gem.
"Just watch. You'll see! I've got it!"
- Miho Inada has posed:
Miho was just getting out of Dance club. She has had a nagging headache for a minute now, and thinks about calling Amy. Maybe go out, and grab a soda after her patrol. Instead, Miho decides to try to find Amy on her patrol. She takes a deep breath, and heads out towards where Amy's normal route is.
She pauses a moment as she looks at the kite akuma that grabs Amy. "OY! Let go of my girlfriend!", she yells out before blushing horribly! Miho growls a bit as she runs towards Amy and the Akuma.
"Youkai Musume! Yukihime!", Miho yells out. The magatama in her hairclip flashes as she henshins into Yukihime. The ice mahou snaps her left wrist, and a pair of beads come off her wrist, and snow gathers around them to form a pair of wolves. Yukihime pulls out her bow, and loads up an bolt of ice. "Put her down nicely! NOW!", she hisses...
- Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
It's definitely good weather for tending to the stray dogs of Tokyo, and while the days are starting to get longer, it's still in the awkward phase when the additional daylight is enough to taunt you with the knowledge that it still isn't quite enough. Like, say, visiting an extra set of strays, even though it'll be dark by the time Ikiko get back to the dorms.
Good thing she can pair the trip back to RHA with an improvised patrol as Cute Wolf Tsukiko, turning the falling darkness from a hassle into a benefit.
As the wolfgirl leaps across the rooftops, she spots the commotion in the distance. "So much for a quiet evening," she chuckles to herself, adjusting her path to get ahead of the twine-slinger to force him to take a longer (and, thus, slower) route.
- Niji Dasshu has posed:
Niji Dasshu was out with Hinoiri today, and the discussion was something that was decidedly more in Niji's... ballpark, really.
"...the Hanshin Tigers are one of the oldest baseball teams in Japan - and I think, one of the best..." she was going on. "...when the Yankees came to Japan in 04', the Tigers beat them! Then, just last year, they beat both American teams that came over - the Dodgers and the Cubs - in consecutive shut-outs!" she continues.
Mercifully for Hinoiri - and perhaps for you too, dear reader - Niji's time speaking glowingly about the Hanshin Tigers has to come to an end, because there's trouble that has brewed to a critical point.
"Isn't that... Faust-san? And..." she asks, but as her necklace starts to glow dim blue, Hinoiri's probably already gone.
And yet still, Geode Girl Loyalty, with her rainbow hair and blue wings, will likely get to the fight faster - the flying rainbow-blur eschewing today's justice speech (for the moment) by just trying to kick this discount comic-book parody villain in the face. And also, likely be very close if the villian makes it any distance with that Soul Gem...
- Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Hinoiri Kirara had learned a lot of valuable, important lessons since coming to Radiant Heart and this world, and one of those most important lessons? Was just because something wasn't important to you, didn't mean it wasn't important. Sometimes, the only thing that was needed to make something important was that it was important to your friends. Even if you didn't understand it, you made time because it mattered to them.
And while Hinoiri enjoyed sports, well... competing. Well... crushing her competition, when it came to actually watching teams play? She could take it or leave it. But Niji had put up with enough magic lectures from her about KKF, she could listen to her about her favorite baseball teams and whatnot. How bad could it be?
Bad enough that Hinoiri saw danger and internally thanked sweet, dear Sora for this bounty of heaven.
She dipped into an alleyway, pulling out her henshin device... One henshin sequence later and Cure La Licorne was jumping from rooftop to rooftop, before coming in from above. "Hey! I don't think whatever you took belo--" And then pulling back mid kick with a shriek when she caught sight of WHAT he had, alarm bells going off in her head. WAS THAT A SOUL GEM?! "NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO, DON'T HIT THAT GEM!" she yelled.
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
BRRRRRRRRRRRM comes a motorcycle up the street, a Honda Rebel 300, navy blue with golden detailing, legally and visually distinct from Catra's black Honda Rebel 300 with chrome detailing. The rider's in all black two blocks away, and glowing and ribbons and henshining-while-driving one block away, and wearing all black and a cape and mask as he parks. He parks because his helmet is gone and also his motorcycle can't superjump and Mamoru needs to superjump--
Tuxedo Kamen's voice as he sees the glitter of her gem moving away from her body doesn't actually make it out of his throat. He throws a rose instead of superjumping, aiming for the twine around the gem as it's in flight and turning. This is the kind of trick shot you too can attempt if you eat ginger rose candy.
- Amanda Faust has posed:
Red and black gem?
There is just a sliver of corruption at the edge of the round ruby cabochon on the back of the wrist of Amy's left glove.
"What? No! That's not the Ladybug Miraculous!" Amy complains, coincidentially at the exact same time as Hawkmoth is saying it in Kaitou Kaito's head.
Then she explodes the strings, and just as she's calculating how to use an explosion to slow her fall, suddenly her fall stops. "Ow!"
Huh, some part of her brain thinks. Hanging from your wrists like you're chained up in a villain's dungeon is really uncomfortable actually!
(Although she'd still prefer it to the corpse-filled oubliette...)
But then Miho's shout brings a smile to her face, right before the strings release her.
She falls, and an explosion stops her fall a few feet above the ground, deflecting her to land next to Yukihime. She's grinning, and about to say something when she notices her hand is cold. And it's the hand on the opposite side from the snow mahou.
Amy looks at her hand. It looks completely normal, soft pink skin... and no glove.
Her eyes widen and she looks up in horror. Has the flying youma got her soul gem? It must have!
She remembers Lulu falling over. She wasn't even breathing.
She remembers walking along the roof of the school, testing the range to see if it might be possible to hug Norie without a problem if her soul gem is a distance away, but it still drained, somehow, because magic, and she remembers the sudden pain when she approached a hundred meters atop one of the larger buildings, and she didn't dare push it.
Other than that, and the few times she's handed it to someone nearby for safekeeping while she does something dangerous, it has never left her person since the day she saw Lulu collapse like a puppet with her strings cut.
And now the youma's got it and is flying away.
It's got her.
My me!
An explosion launches her into the air. "GIVE THAT BACK!" She aims her launcher and-- hesitates. The chances against accidentally directly hitting her soul gem are astronomical, but...
She finds she daren't pull the trigger anyway.
Desperation creeps into her voice as fire sweeps over her, changing her outfit to add thrusters as she flies after the kite theif, desperation creeping into her voice despite trying to surpress it. "Please! Give it back! I already made my wish, my magic can't help you!"
- Gabriel Agreste has posed:
Kaitou Kaito is determined to prove that the gem he's stolen is, if not the Ladybug Miraculous (doubtful! He's got this!) still useful to his benefactor. He is the greatest kite themed thief there ever was, the greatest kite flier, the greatest of all time. He has this.
And then he has interference: someone yelling about girlfriends, someone launching kicks, someone screaming about not hitting the gem -
"See boss?! They wouldn't be so careful about it if it wasn't important!" Kaitou Kaito declares gleefully, opening his wings to swerve so that Loyalty's kick misses by a hair, taking a couple of feet off the trailing tail of his kite-wing suit.
"Ha! Better luck next ti- oh no you don't, I'M GETTING THIS TO THE BOSS!"
The strangled scream-cry is because the trick shot rose has successfully struck the twine and torn through, sending glove-and-gem plummeting towards the ground...
But Kaito Kaito does a deft aerial maneuver and with a hurtling of twine, snatches the soul gem back up and reels it in, clutching it tight. With Amy trying to stay in range, she's currently succeeding, though the kite themed supervillain is getting ready to burn on the speed. For now, she's in range of her soul gem.
<<This is a waste of time, that's not even the right - did she say something about a wish?>>
Hawkmoth's angry tirade turns off on a dime, the mental voice abruptly interested.
Kaitou Kaito smirks.
"Hey, hey, what was that about a wish? How'd you get a wish, huh?"
He's twisting around to fly backwards now, which is a bit of show-offery that probably should get punished.
- Niji Dasshu has posed:
Geode Girl Loyalty makes an annoyed sound as she streaks past the kite-man-youma without kicking him in the face like she wanted, but the sound is pitched oddly due to her rate of speed.
"Buddy..." she says, floating nearby as her wings flap in a way that's decidedly not creating enough lift to keep a Niji-sized non-hollow-boned person afloat by any kind of physics "... the only wish you're gonna need is the one where you 'wish' you didn't mess with my friend." she says. And she hears La Licorne's warning, and she doesn't know enough about Soul Gems to make the most perfect decision, but she can hear the severity in her voice. "The only thing you're taking to your boss is bruises and a warning to leave Earth alone." Well, most people Niji's met aren't exactly locals.
To protect the Gem, though, she doesn't call upon any weapons - instead she tries to keep behind the kite-man-youma and throw punches and kicks at him from the opposite direction of the other Mahou, to try to use her speed to batter him and maybe grab the Soul Gem but most importantly keep behind him so he can't ESCAPE.
- Miho Inada has posed:
Yukihime looks at Amy. She leans over, and gives her a quick cheek kiss. "Do you trust me?", she asks. Yukihime takes a deep breath, and settles into a meditative trance as she aims her bow. She keeps her breathing steady as she angles the bow. The mahou takes a final breath, then lets the bolt fly as the akuma gets showy. She's aiming to try to take kite akuma down, so she can get the soul gem back! Her mother taught her how to fire a bow. Yukihime just makes it a bit easier.
Yukihime looks over at Mask and Ikiko. Those two she's worked with before. The others, not so much. Then again, Yukihime really has hidden herself away a bit. "Mask! Wolf! Can you keep that thing occupied?", she calls out. Yukihime takes a deep breath, and puts her bow down. She blows some snow off her right hand, and it forms into a small snow swallow. Its her Friends of the Forest spell. It may not cause damage, or be fancy, but it can do something that could be very beneficial at the moment. It can fly fast, and catch snatch the gem.
Yukihime takes a moment to lean over, and breathes on the snowbird. "Get the gem.", she whispers to it, and then sends it on its way. Hopefully, the kite akuma is so distracted with everything, that the tiny bird can get the gem, and return to Amy quickly.
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
"Stop him, Hawkmoth!" Tuxedo Mask yells, desperation in his voice as he follows after Amy, rooftopping and lampposting it from tall thing to tall thing. "We can talk to you about this but not if this... this is the best you could get, seriously? --we can talk about a wish or whatever it is that you want, your miracle you want, maybe we can get it for you-- but not if your akuma actually steals that!"
This time, Tuxedo Kamen does an astonishingly graceful barrel roll in mid-jump, flinging his cape out at the end and yelling, "Tuxedo Glittering Rose Bomber!" which precedes a whole great huge mess of roses flung stem-first at the kite. "Can't catch the wind if you're a distressed fishnet, can you you dink."
- Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Cure La Licorne blinked a few times and then shuddered. "Oh, for... Trust me. You do not want *anything* to do with that wish. The costs on that is WAY too high and the conditions are deadly!" Cure La Licorne snapped before she landed on the rooftop, running alongside the man. Well, she had to be careful. If she attacked wrong, she might hurt the gem, and Amy...
No. Not an option. She can't fly, though. She can, however... As Loyalty flies, she runs around, waiting for her opportunity... Running past him...
And then, when he finally goes in, flying backwards? Oh, she decides to follow up. He was already being pestered by one Mahou. Suddenly Cure La Licorne came from the opposite side, and she kicked, foot erupting into flame... Not at him, though. Kicking at his kite, attempting to erupt his little flying wings. "Icarus, it's time you get further from the SUN!" Hinoiri yelled.
Guess which story she read recently in class.
- Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
With Kaitou Kaito doubling back to try to get info out of Amy, Tsukiko takes the opportunity to dart forward and make a leaping attack at the kite man. It's not the most elegant attack, and she definitely has less mid-air maneuverability than he does, but Geode Girl Loyalty's skirmishing flurry opens up some options for the wolfgirl to take advantage of...
...like, say, trying to tear off more of the tail of the kite-suit. After all, if she remembers correctly, kites have tails to help make them more stable -- which means that a kite that's missing its tail will likely be less able to control its maneuvers.
And confounding the mobility of her foes suits Tsukiko just fine.
- Amanda Faust has posed:
> Do you trust me?
The kiss would be nice if she weren't distracted by realizing her soul's not on her. Amy blinks. "Huh? Wh--" she starts to ask, then cuts it off to "yes!" and launches into the air in a hurry.
> They wouldn't be careful if it wasn't important!
"It's useless to you!" Amy mentally winces at realizing she technically just called herself useless. Although honestly, this is deception -- it may not be of magical use to them-- well, it is if they were so crude as to drain it for energy. But also there's the obvious use of threatening her to make her do things.
Yeeah, she really doesn't want that to happen.
Fortunately, she's pretty sure everyone here already knows the truth of Soul Gems so she doesn't have to explain.
> What's this about a wish?
Amy remembers the discussion the other day. Hawkmoth has a telepathic connection to his akuma... "I... wh... g-give it back and I'll tell you! But if Hawk Moth had the potential for a contract, he'd have been approached already! S-same for you, probably! Please give it back! There's no wish left there! Only a curse!"
While this is terrifying in a way that fights usually aren't, words of concern and friendship reach her. The reminder that she matters to these people, that they care, warms her soul.
But not, like, literally.
Amy switches to a gyrojet pistol, hesitates again, and finally decides to shoot guided shots that will miss and just distact Kaitou as he thinks he needs to defend against them.
"Tha, that's right! We know Hawkmoth is in communication with you and needs a miracle! Put the gem down and let's talk!"
- Gabriel Agreste has posed:
The best he could do?! It's not his fault that the most angry little man in Tokyo not liable to go off and commit mass murder happened to be an ego-centric convinced that theft by kite was the future of crime!
...on the other hand, he did give that man super powers.
That other hand is still wrong! This is hardly his fault. He didn't assign Kaitou Kaito the power of kite-and-twine!
Hawkmoth is so thoroughly busy defending his ego, that for a moment - just a moment, the rest of the words don't quite register.
Kaito Kaito, on the other hand, is discovering exactly how unpleasant it is to be mobbed by mahoujin when you don't have any real offensive powers to your name. There's an effort to dodge, but there's only so much dodging one can do when everyone is firing at your main method of propulsion - there's Loyalty, flying after him, kicking and punching at his back and legs, causing Kaitou Kaito to yell and kick (badly) back at her.
There's flames, lighting up the edges of his grand wings. There's a great ice arrow, which punches through the wing suit's left wing - and then a legion of glittering roses, which fill the air with color and also tear dozens of holes in the wings, and on top of that, he's lost the rest of his tail, to Cute Wolf Tsukiko's deft tearing away, ruining his ability to direct himself.
Why, WHY did he expose his back to them this way!?
"My wings! My only weakness! My only flaw!" he shrieks in distress as he promptly, immediately, starts to lose altitude. He kicks and claws at the air, but drops in spite of everything, clutching the soul gem all the way down.
<<Oh, for the love of - you shouldn't have wasted time taunting them!>>
"Every phantom thief leaves a taunt!" Kaitou Kaito protests, before he strikes the ground with a bone-jarring thud. The hard plastic of his helmet cracks and he loses consciousness, Amy's soul gem still clutched in a now limp hand.
The akuma, which had been in the kite, flutters out, somehow conveying with its delicate wings, all of Hawkmoth's disdain. <<"I'll hold off the effort of puppeting his unconscious form for a more useful fight, given you've said such interesting things. What are you, girl who is obviously not Ladybug?">>
He is making it clear that he is not the one who keeps mistaking this red-and-white hero for the infamously spotted red-and-black Ladybug.
- Miho Inada has posed:
The snow swallow flies up in the air. Then when the Akuma hits the ground, the snow swallow goes into its graceful high speed dive for the gem. Its attempting to collect it, and return it to Yukihime. Yukihime doesn't really have a purifying spell or attack. Instead, her focus is getting the gem for Amy. The snow mahou blushes a little bit. "I actually didn't expect it to be...that easy.", she says. "Or at least the kite would have been...you know...magically re-enforced to withstand attacks.", Yukihime says.
Yukihime picks up her bow, and makes sure to cover the downed akuma. Just cause its down doesn't mean its defeated. "Hey, you want to get a soda after this, Red?", she asks.
- Niji Dasshu has posed:
Geode Girl Loyalty notes that other people are throwing attacks in the general direction of the man, and she gets a little more fierce with her punches and kicks too - okay, so it's clearly not so severe that she can't attack in his direction. As further evidenced by the way that people don't seem to have their hearts in their throat when gravity beats kite, and helmet meets floor.
Loyalty does grimace a bit at the way his head hit the ground, but he's probably got something like Mahoujin henshin armor like that, right?
She can't leave a youma to terorrize the streets, though - and while she doesn't know he's just a man possessed, her answer wouldn't change if she did. Once the little snow-familiar collects the gem, then she's SURE she can go all out.
She closes her eyes, and extends her hand to summon her bat... YES SCORE BAT FIRST TIME TODAY AND HINOIRI IS HERE TO SEE IT! She pauses and pumps her fist before remembering she's got a job to do, and begins to form a multicolored ball in her hand, energy like a swirling rainbow.
"One day, I'll be the first girl to play on the Hanshin Tigers, so it's a shame this ball won't leave anything for you to get signed!" she says with a grin, and throws it up into the air. "Loyalty..." she begins, as the ball falls, and she slams into it with the bat. "HOMERUN SMASHER!" she yells out as the connection is made, and the rainbow ball grows into a giant orb that of purifying energy that slams down towards the Kite-Youman.
- Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
On the one hand, Hawkmoth was an ex-coworker and he was asking about soul gems and stuff and...
Yeah, no, that was reason enough to NOT finish that. As her heart rouge rod appeared in hand. "Yeah, stay away from those. They cost your soul. If you need to know more, contact HR," Cure La Licorne said, before holding it up. Pausing just a moment so Amy's soul could be grabbed.
"Scorching ray piercer!"
The rays of sun above turned to piercing blades of purifying energy, decending on the akuma butterfly.
... There was no yay this time. Or Victory.
There was a face palm and a *groan.* Then... Held up the little 'Hanshin Tigers Victory Flag' that she now had. She didn't even know HOW she had it. But now? She did. And she knew, somehow, the magic and/or Niji was to blame.
- Ikiko Hisakata has posed:
Tsukiko lands and spins around, ready to dart forth to try to keep Kaitou Kaito hemmed in, or at least slow him down so the others could land more hits. But when everybody is piling on the akuma's mobility, well...
The wolfgirl waits until the purple butterfly is dispersed purified ash (and thus no longer working as a communication relay to Hawkmoth), then looks at the other mahoujin present. "This is why I try my hardest to stay out of entangles and anti-mobility traps," she remarks, gesturing at the former Kaitou Kaito. "Without my speed and agility, it's incredibly hard to stay in a fight."
- Amanda Faust has posed:
Amy winces at the crack and then grins in relief as she sees the snow swallow and drops to the ground to meet it, collecting the gem from the swallow that took it from what she hopes isn't a corpse and clutching it to her chest, still full of adrenaline. "Thank you." She breathes. "Everyone."
It's her her and an enemy had it and she's not sure how to feel about that. She looks to Yukihime, still grinning in relief. "Yeah."
And then the butterfly speaks to her. She looks at it. And it's probably best not to talk to it, but right now she's just so relieved, she doesn't think as the words, "I'm a Puella Magi." leave her mouth. "But, listen--"
And then everything her allies can muster hits the butterfly.
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
"... please don't do that, GOD that's gross," Tuxedo Kamen says, voice brimming with revulsion at Hawkmoth's 'I'll hold off'. "I mean you, Hawkmoth, god why would you puppet someone else's body? That's *incredibly* unethical and-- just-- so gross--" Full-body shudder, and he leaps down to the ground next to Kaitou Kaito utterly heedless of the purification attack heading that way.
(He'll realize it was reckless later.)
Glove off, and he leans forward to touch the akuma's-- the guy's-- hand (or take a glove off him too, or whatever he needs to do), and glow bright to heal him and start to bring him around, right in front of the butterfly as Amy's talking, and as everything hits the butterfly.
- Gabriel Agreste has posed:
Kaitou Kaito is down and he's out. Thankfully for the sanity of these young heroes, there's no blood pooling under his head, no evidence that the cracked helmet is a sign of greater damage, but...
Well, he definitely is just lying there, before the rainbow colored ball of light smashes into his form.
The good news, is the rainbow light most certainly purifies him - the demonic kite-monster imagery disappears, as does the spandex suit. The bad news? He's uh. He's still wearing a kite-themed wing suit, still damaged, though not from arrows and roses and fires and kicks, - the bracing of the wings is broken, as though someone had snapped it. The man is now wearing a ski mask like a stereotypical robber, and all black clothing. The kite is painted the colors of the night sky, with a bit of cloud pattern to help it blend if viewed from above. Luckily, he definitely is breathing and also uninjured, if anyone does decide to check.
Well, no one said only good people get akumatized, right?
The akuma flutters a little higher over the unconscious man, somehow radiating more disdain.
<<"Well, you're the ones who dropped him seven stories. If I was going to continue the fight, I'd need to get him back up somehow,">> his Japanese is accented in a way that may be familiar, because Chat Noir and Adrien both speak that way - French accented. Well, they did know he was French. <<"What, exactly, is a Puella Mag-">>
The fire pours down from the sky, then, purifying and destroying the darkness clinging to the akuma. When the fire dissipates?
A pure white butterfly flutters about, bobbing this way and that as though confused, before taking off.
Back in Obsidian Tower, Hawkmoth hums. "So Puella Magi make a wish... one that they thought would be powerful enough to interest me. How... interesting."
- Niji Dasshu has posed:
... "Do you think if we hit him with purification again he won't make whatever decision lead him to both be Akumatized and... wear that?" she asks, walking over and tapping his wingsuit with her bat.
"Well, is everyone okay?" She asks. "I don't think this was Obsidian's best. Although. Maybe I kinda hope it is, now."
- Hinoiri Kirara has posed:
Cure La Licorne let out a soft sigh once the akuma was defeated...
She then glanced at Loyalty and shook her head. "That wasn't Obsidian's anything, it was just some guy and Hawkmoth being a jerk," Cure La Licorne said. "I've talked to Ladybug about them. It doesn't really cost him much, he just... grabs someone, and then does this. It's not the most effective, but it also doesn't cost him anything to try, either."
"Also, you summoned the bat, good job, you're really mastering that spell. It-- AMY! Is Amy okay?!" Cure La Licorne asked, whipping around to focus on the ACTUALLY MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THIS!
- Amanda Faust has posed:
> Is everyone okay? / AMY! Is Amy okay?!
"Y-yes! Well, I got my soul back and he didn't take it more than 100 meters away, so..." and then she realizes what would've happened if he'd outpaced her while they were both flying and her face whitens a bit.
She then glances over at the man who was Kaitou Kite. "...It really was someone using a wingsuit to be some kind of ...aerial catburgler? That's kind of impressive, do you think he had a chara when he was younger? Um..." She looks to Tuxedo Mask, "He is alive, right...?"
- Mamoru Chiba has posed:
